  1. I'd much rather play the game at MBA. Knowing that the entire stadium will be overflowing with people is very exciting.
  2. Rollred, I don't have the dates of the scrimmages right now. I do know we will scrimmage Riverdale at Riverdale next friday, although I don't know the time. I do know we will scrimmage CPA, Goodpasture, and one other team over the weeks before the Trinity game. As for maxes, I only know a few right off the top of my head. I'll be happy to email you a full list if you want. We worked hard this summer and I hope it pays off. I was very happy to hear an MBA fan saw us running to Vanderbilt from his office Wednesday morning. We had our last day of minicamp today, and starting monday we'll be in full pads. Less than a month until the Trinity game, we can barely wait.
  3. I do believe MBA will be setting up additional bleachers in the endzone for the Trinity game. I also heard the gates will be opened at 4 and that parking will be a huge problem. Good thing I won't have to worry about either.
  4. My two favorites are by far Friday Night Lights and The Junction Boys. If you have read Friday Night Lights yet, today go to the store and buy it. It follows a team from Texas throughout their season and is beautifully well written. One of my favorite books I've ever read. Also the Autobiography of Walter Payton- can't think of the title right now- is a great book.
  5. Troy Fleming has been an awesome fullback for the vols for it seems like the past 10 years. I remember him playing at BGA and he tore it up.
  6. Bearden plays DB this year? That'll be an awesome game. We played in Kingsport last year and from what I hear they alway shave a good team.

    Div. II

lots of people know about d-II schools
  8. If I didn't have a game I'd be at the Bearden vs. Farragut game. Who do you think will win?
  9. MBA always has a good freshman team- although they'll be missing Coach Dan McGugin this year(took a job coaching football at Miami). They always play the best middle TN opponents possible and at least one team like MUS or McCallie.
  10. redtwin- congrats on your 500th post- it was good seeing you outside Joe's house the other day
  11. ...If you get chewed out by a teacher at school for talking up a wrestler from your school who is one of your friends.
  12. IF teams need to recruit to win, that's their business.
  13. While we're sort of on the subject of Hillsboro, does anyone know if Chris Russell will get to play this year at Colorado? He worked out at MBA some this year and appears to be pretty strong and fast. I hope he gets to play a lot.
  14. I don't have a huge problem with the dead period. Whoever said it was a time for coaches and players to rest must not want to win. A team who wants to win works hard the entire summer. In spite of the dead period, those who want to win will continue in their dedication to their sport. And, even though players cannot contact coaches, they can assemble within themselves.
  15. Oh, well that probably wasn't me. I try not to be incredibly rude in public. If the persons chanting offended you, I apologize on their behalf. Eat more Satco, it's really good
  16. Well I'm sure you did, I frequent there often- where do I know you from?
  17. Outside of MBA, I know David Holbert is a pretty big recruit at BA. I'd keep your eye on COurtney Braswell from Baylor. He'll be a junior and last year when we played him he ran for over 300 yards. He's very strong and fast. I think he'll play D-I ball.
  18. Well if everything turns out alright I'll be starting at right guard this year for the Big Red. FBaller, Where do you go, and what position do you play?
  19. What kind of team does Morristown have? My dad grew up there, but I don't know anything about it.
  20. I go to MBA yet I couldn't figure that out on my own. I admit it, I'm an idiot.
  21. Thank you very much CoachT for clearing that up. For a while I thought the D-II AA team from Memphis was playing the best team in the nation. I'm sure the ECS from Shreveport is a pretty good team.
  22. I didn't realize that Evangelical Christian was that good. Now I really want to go see the game, but unfortunately I can't. So someone from coacht go watch and report back to the message board.
  23. I believe only exceptional athletes can play their sophmore year. Most guys need the time to develop their strength and technique. However playing as a sophmore can really make someone better. Of our senior class, the best players are the ones who played a lot as sophmores. James Banker , Parker Prevost, Luke Brown, and Drew Carney will get to play this year for MBA and will be very very good in the future.
  24. I am wondering how Evangelical Christian is playing De La Salle. I have followed that team for the past few years and basically they're incredible. I wish they were playing here because I'd give a lot to see them play. Good Luck ECS- wish I could come watch.
