  1. I believe this is very relevant concerning the recent Rangers/A's fiasco. It raises a very important question of how much is too much, concerning heckling. There are so many factors mixed in, especially political correctness. I would love to start a topic about this, hitting on this incident and other sports and levels. Would anyone respond?
  2. I'd say Gaston Miller is probably the RB who plays with the best O-Line. Sometimes the holes are so big that you could drive a truck through them. The stats are impressive but the comp. isn't. We'll see how he does when the games get tougher.
  3. I agree. What makes CBHS better this year than previous years. They haven't had much of an offense since Justin Mosby, 3 or 4 years ago. They always seem to have a powerfull defense but can't win big games. They've never played well on the road. They have yet to convince me they'll keep that undefeated record throughout the season. I wouldn't be suprised if they overlook a team and get upset.
  4. I'll take the Big Red in a sound defeat in thus one as long as they don't make any huge mistakes. They need a strong win here to gain momentum into the rest of the season which is always much harder in terms of opponents than the beginning weeks, especially as the game start to count. Again, I want 300 yards of rushing so go get em hogs. Make me and 57 proud.
  5. i'm going with fra on this one...go get em dmac
  6. silverbullett- i hope you didnt steal that name from me, somethin makes me think you did. either way good luck to my big red...play hard. bga is always well coached and disciplined so play mba football. last year they were one of the best teams we played but i don't know anything about this year's squad. no doubt coach e, coach reddog, and coach davis will have th ebig red up. i want 300 yards of rushing...i put that to you oline. make me proud
  7. well i just hope there's not anymore sudden downpours 4 hours before a cbhs home game that dumps 3 inches of water on the field and nowhere else on campus. either way i'm sure they have a good team but i wouldn't make any bold statemens just yet. when teams start playing their best football who knows what will happen. maybe there will be an upset of the catholic schools...maybe not.
  8. congrats to the warriors- now time to step up the comp level...national rankings are nice to think about but they don't really mean jack. but everyone will be gunning for riverdale now. it's a tough spot to be in. the best teams handle that kind of pressure with ease. we'll see if the number in the paper goes to their heads or if they play with humility.
  9. I have no problem with girls playing football. I'm pretty sure they are already on wrestling teams so let 'em. Sadly their presence can be a distraction (ie. that female kicker at Colorado)
  10. Floyd Elliot- defensive coordinator at MBA is by far the best non-head-coach on any staff in probably the whole Southeast. He is a master of defensive strategy and scouting opponents. Ask any DII-AAA coach and they will agree!
  11. Very true- but I can't imagine that happening for the Irish this year
  12. THis is a sad week for me- having just come up to Ann Arbor I'll have to listen to my Big Red on the radio. I don't think Southhaven has a top caliber team and being a running oriented team if they get behind they're finished. mba will play well disciplined football. southaven might be bigger but the big red will work harder and tire them out. and thankfully this year the game will be in tennessee so souhaven won't get any help from those MS refs.
  13. i cannot wait for this game- with nick forte out for ba- and cbhs having lost their top two dlineman, it will be a battle.
  14. my post game analysis: mba's defense won the game by absolutely dominating the field position match-up. major props to bryandt hahnfeldt for booting it into the end zone on every kick off giving the wolverines a long field. the defense was outstanding, forcing 2 int's, making a beautiful goal line stand on their own 2 yard line on three plays giving mba a little momentum after what could have been a costly mistake (forcing the throw on a double reverse- the same play mba scored on the first play of the game last year). the offense see-sawed. howe had some nice completions and mcgavock johnson had some nice runs. the oline played much much better than last week. seems like mba is having some problems on the PAT team with the holder. Good intensity and good win. We need to keep gaining confidence with a decisive win next week before facing bga.

    cpa

in the words of lee corso- not so fast my friend. football season is long so i wouldn't make bold assumption on august 27th. i expect big things out of cpa this year and it'd be nice to bring the 1A state title to the midstate.
  16. i am proud of cpa- win or lose it seems like they're playin hard
  17. what happened to that riverdale d?
  18. crumbo has a broken arm in two places. i'm pretty sure he'll have surgery and be out for the rest of the season.
  19. it's always the big talkers who get shut up the fastest
  20. mba lost 35-7 against louisville trinity. year two of the series...last year mba won 17-13
  21. i am confident the big red will come out with a lot more intensity than last saturday and a lot more focus. no doubt they worked hard in practice this week and are ready to play
