  1. You can never count out Lipscomb and MLK. They are tough year in and year out. I definitely do not see CPA as a lock. Saw them several times this summer at team camp and I did not think they looked as strong as their team from last year. Don't see FRA being a factor, didn't they graduate 8 seniors. Hume Fogg could definitely factor in as they return some good players.
  2. How about getting back to the topic. Dyer County and how they will fare this year.
  3. The Tennessee YOMCA went 7-0 and did it without Z Mason in the line up as he sat out the weekend with a sprained knee. Congrats to all the Tennessee teams.
  4. I believe if you turn 19 before August 1 of your senior year, you are considered too old.
  5. How does Antioch define defeat - over confidence, arrogance and lack of discipline. Great job Siegel when many had you going home before the jump ball.
  6. Even if DC wins the state championship there are a large group that will know the gold ball was a bit tarnished. There is also another large group that does not care how they won, tarnished or not its still a gold ball.
  7. You either call the travel or the shove, sometimes they called the travel sometimes the shove. Tell me what #20 was doing all night long was aggressive defense and not cheap shots. At least have the integrity to admit he was throwing cheap shots.
  8. Quite frankly you are unbelievable. I have never seen a team throw more cheap shots than DC. Holding, shoving, hacking are all words that are associated with DC. The refs kept DC in the game. You get a different set of refs that call a close game and the starting 5 foul out for DC. DC plays great pressure defense but with that comes a lot of fouls and again a lot more could have been called on DC.
  9. Just curious why Dyer County deserved to win whether CPA likes it or not? I don't even know what you mean when you say "team play with questionable wins".
  10. Just hope its not the same basketball tradition as last year or you will be leaving the Boro early as well.
  11. Is it a new rule that when a ball is rolled in the 5 second count applies. If that is true DC would have definitely been in violation on at least one roll in. I guess ignorance is bliss.
  12. When you make a statement like that you lose all credibility that anything you have to say has any merit to it at all. I have seen some ridiculous statements on Coach T but that would get my all time "STUPID COMMENT" award.
  13. At least Jeff Lockridge of the Tennessean had the guts to tell it like it really happened. I give all the props to DC they hit two big threes to win the game. It was not the fault of DC that their is a controversy. Its just a shame that boys work hard all year and have the game end like it did. Yes the bottom line is DC won, they move on and CPA lost. However I believe CPA has gained more respect from this loss than any victory they had all year. CPA could have folded early but they kept ther composure and fought back and made a great game of it. Congratulations to CPA and to DC for a game that will be talked about for quite some time.
  14. No one from CPA thinks DC is a cakewalk by any stretch of the imagination. All that talk is coming from the LA folks who are still upset that CPA beat them earlier in the season on their home court and want some revenge.
  15. No Disrespect Intended!! LA has disprected CPA all season which has been quite evident via their posts through out the year. CPA only beat LA on their home court with Z Mason having practiced only 3 days because of football. CPA has also won 21 in a row with a junior laden team. Mason, Anderson and Miller their top three leaders in all categories for CPA this year are all juniors. If the only thing that matters is beating Fulton, why the disrespect to CPA.
  16. Don't know what scrimmage you were watching, but Antioch definitely did not dominate CPA's starters. Miller and Anderson were raining 3's on them. As I recall Miller striaght up picked Upton clean at midcourt for an easy bucket. Most of the Antioch hooping and hollering were when CPA's JV were playing.
  17. Giles County also gave Bolivar all they wanted on Bolivar's home floor and with Giles having to travel about 125 miles to play them. Don't let the CPA score give any indication of this being a CPA weakness. Giles is a very good team when they want to play. Neither Bolivar nor Dyer has the size that Giles has. I really don't see your point in the comparison. Dyer and Bolivar rely on pressure and quickness, Giles is a bigger and more physical, two completely different style of teams.
  18. I have seen both teams play and as far as Giles County it depends on what team shows up. When they are on they are tough to beat, when they have that carefree, careless attitude thay could get drilled. I think both teams will have match up problems in certain positions and I think the team that wins those match ups will have the better chance of winning. You do have to give a big edge to Bolivar because it is on their home court. On a neutral site or in Giles County and Bolivar might be in for more than they think, still could be just depending on if Giles wants to play or not.
  19. I think the multiplier works if you have 5 classes in all sports, not just football. Which seems strange because more schools can field basketball teams and baseball teams than football. So you have more teams competing in basketball and baseball but less classes. Does not make sense to me. JMO.
  20. Miller was off shooting the three maybe 1 for 6 or 7. Other than that Miller and the other guards shot very little. Looked like the game plan was to get the ball inside to Mason. I thought CPA looked very one dimensional in their offense scheme for the night and the guards never really seemed to get into the offensive flow. The rebounding issue should be a huge concern for CPA. GC just flat out hustled, out positioned and out muscled CPA on the boards. As dominating as Mason was on the offensive end unfortunately he was equally as ineffective on the defensive end and the defensive rebounding. As was some of the other CPA players, but when you have the size and ability of a Mason, 5 boards from Mason is not going to get you far at Murfreesboro.
  21. That had to be an incredible performance by Chase Dunn. My question is where was the defense for SC.
  22. I definitely do not think it is boring. The anticipation will drive you crazy. I would say the anxiety level at the CPA - DL game was off the chart.
  23. I don't know about east and west Tennessee but imo the top 4 AA players in Middle Tennessee would have to be Z Mason and Hunter Miller from CPA, John Jenkins from Station Camp and Chase Dunn from Livingston Academy. Mason and Miller may be one of the best 1 - 2 punches in the state aka Stockton to Malone. Jenkins and Dunn can flat out put points on the board. But more importantly all 4 of these kids are just great kids period.
