  1. I do like Reid, but he's about it in Phili. I think McNabb is overrated, I'm not saying he's not good, but not as good as the hype. Westbrook is having a career year, I doubt he'll be able to repeat next year. I'm surprised to hear that from Rudi Johnson, presuming that is the Rb you are talking about, Cincy has imporved each of the past two years and If I was a young player like him I would like to stay around and continue to build the team. Marvin Lewis will have them in the playoffs within the next 3 years.
  2. All of the terrible personnel moves thoughout the past few years are catching up to the Titans. Injuries hurt them last year, but injuries hurt every team, every year. I doubt the Titans will be any better next year than they were this past year. Who do ya'll think they'll draft?
  3. Well with my Rams not being in I'm rooting for the Patriots. They are the best example of how pro sports should be. They are a very classy team, with a great coach. I will not be able to ever have any good thoughts for the Eagles until Terrell Owens is gone. He should be on the Ravens, but as it seems in the NFL these days, if you cry about who wants you you can go to the team you want to. Both teams had good years but I'm cheering for the Pats, and yes there will be a big party at 910 S. Tennessee Blvd in the Boro.
  4. Didn't Turner commit to Memphis?
  5. I'm shocked by this news. I played against Tant in high school a few times and thought he was a good back and I knew he would be a decent back at Vandy but I never imagined him going pro. I think this is a terrible decision for him, if he has already recieved his degree he should stay and play his last year to help raise his stock if he has any dream of the NFL. I seriously doubt anybody outside of the state of Tennessee has ever heard of Matt Tant. What happened to the other RB Harpeth had Tant's Senior year, I want to say his name was Ewing or something like that, he was pretty good also. I just searched the Vandy website and there are no results for Matt Tant so he probably isn't attending school anymore.
  6. As big of a Vol fan as I am, they won't win the NC this year...they probably won't even win the SEC.
  7. The Mets are dishing out a lot of money this winter. Last night they signed Beltran to something like a 7 year 119 Million dollar deal with an 11 mil signing bonus. Now they're supposobly going after Carlos Delgado. Too bad they still won't win the east with all of the money their spending.
  8. Did ya'll hear about the Grizzlies? They're also changing their name to attract more fans and money. They will now be named "The Jackson Grizzlies of Southwest Tennessee in the hood of Memphis."
  9. This was great news to hear after some of the losses we have had this offseason.
  10. Seattle was the most overrated team in the NFL from the pre-season on. Many picked them to go to the Super Bowl, that was just ridiculous. Anyways I'm happy my boys won and the'll give Phili a run for their money next week, if that is who they play.
  11. Well my team is the Rams and my dad's is the Steelers so of course I'd hope one of them would win it but I think as of right now I'd have to pick the Pats because of their experience.
  12. My bad, I was a huge fan of Herman Moore back in his day and I just tore a picture of Barry Sanders out of a magazine today to hang up in my room. Maybe that's what I was thinking about. lol Whats even funnier is right after I posted that they played the Edwards speech on ESPN where he started saying "you play to win the game." And yes, I love your picks on the 1st page.
  13. Celebrations have become very excessive in recent years. I also think that they should act like they've been there before. If a 320 lb lineman scores a TD, let his big butt dance, but when you score 10-15 a year like TO, have some class. Do the Barry Sanders, toss the ball to the ref and run to your teammates and get the traditional pat on the helmet and butt. I thought banning team celebrations was stupid. Football is a team sport, you should be able to celebrate with your team, just not excessively. There are some celebrations that are classy and not obnoxious, like TO's, but not many. I personally love watching the Lambeau Leap, and back in the day watching Terrell Davis do the Mile High Salute was pretty cool.
  14. The Rams beat two playoff teams in a row the past two weeks. Yea the Eagles didn't have McNabb in and the Jets found out they were in the playoffs but Herman Edwards "plays to win the game" everybody knows that. He's a competitor and wouldn't let the Rams win without a fight. We could also say the same thing about other teams winning that people are saying about the Rams. Michael Vick isn't in the game for 2 quarters vs. the Seahawks. Everybody knows if he's in there at the end of the game they get the 2 point conversion, win the game, the Rams win the division, and play at home instead of at Seattle. If Peyton plays the whole game the Broncos can kiss the playoffs goodbye. Every year the last two, sometimes three, weeks of the season are full of if's, and's, or maybe's. The Rams got in and that's all I care about. Now my predictions: The Pack should beat Minnesota for a 3rd time. Brett Favre has a huge heart and is always clutch. Minnesota, just like St. Louis and Seattle, are just lucky to be in the playoffs. They didn't prove anything this year and everybody knows Moss is a very holy man, He always takes Sunday's off. Minnesota has had no running game in the 2nd half of the season. GB 34-27 St. Louis is clearly better than Seattle. But the Rams are the most inconsistent team in the NFL. They might have the best group of players that are on a team but that doesn't always help. (ex. New York Yankees of the past three years) I still like St. Louis though, yes they are my team, but I feel that they should win. If Stephen Jackson and/or Faulk rush for 100 yards they'll win for sure. Alexander will get plenty of yards also. The Rams have never lost a game since the move to St. Louis when they have had a 100 yard rusher. St.L 28-18 Peyton Manning, what else is there to say? He was the best player in the NFL this year and has a great group of Wideouts. He'll throw for 300+ and 3-4 TD's in a huge Indy win. Denver does have better DB's than they did last year but that won't stop Manning. Colts 38-17 The Jets played absolutely awesome the first half of the season...but the Chargers did also. The Jets kind of limped into the playoffs...but the Chargers sort of did also, with that tough loss to Indy a few weeks ago. These are two very similiar teams, they have scrappers at QB and RB's that are almost certain the get 100 yards a game. This should be the best game of the weekend. It will come down to the 4th quarter, I'm picking the San Diego SuperChargers on a late field goal. SD 24-21.
  15. Well attendence is low for many reasons. 1. Most students have to work and can't attend games. This was my reason for only attending 1 game this past year. I wanted to and tried to go to more but I worked every Saturday during the season excpet 1. 2. There are a lot of people that want Coach Mc to be fired. 3. Nobody supports a loser, our fans are fair weather fans. 4. A lot of the students commute from Franklin, Nashville, Columbia, and other areas so they're not exactly 15 minutes away, or 7 like I am. And the last reason it is so low is a lot of students (like my former roomate) are huge momma's boys and go home every weekend to see their momma's. I wish attendence would go up but It's going to take a winning season to get it up.
  16. I don't know how this happened but I'm amazed. They are a very dangerous team, probably the best team in the NFL but they are also, by far, the most inconsistent team. 1st Round they play at Seattle where they're already won once this year. If they play like a team they can beat the Eagles again.(It'll never happen, go ahead and say it, i know your thinking it) I'm just looking forward to another great January of football. Go anybody but the Eagles.
  17. I hope you don't plan on waiting too long, because it will never happen. Even if the Giants had a good coach, Crybaby Eli wouldn't be able to take them to the SB. Now maybe 25-30 years down the road we'll see their sons playing against each other in the SB but not these two, not ever, and yes you can qoute me on that.
  18. How bout them Rams!!! Too bad the Jets should stomp them this week and they won't make the playoffs. ;)
  19. I know this has been posted before but you are so coacht if you can remember the day this thread was started. :)
  20. Reggie was always one of my heroes growing up. I cried when I heard about this on the radio today.
  21. Wright will definately be missed, he was just amazing but Marks will be back and when Eugene Gross (who rarely attends class) is healthy he's a tough running back. I doubt 05 will be much better than 04 though. I wish they would schedule some night games.
