We all know that Maryville has been the dominant 4A program for several years; there has been much speculation as to how Maryville would compete against MBA or BA. In a single game match up against either BA or MBA, it would probably be a close game. Maryville has a great program, goes without saying. Year in, year out, it can be argued as to would win matchups between classifications. Maryville was agruably the best public school team last year.....saw them play twice, very impressive. Not sure they were better than BA though. As for this year, I've seen the top teams in East and Middle Tn. ( have not seen Millington ). At the end of the day, don't think anyone in Tn would beat MBA.

Lastly, as the play-off go on the officials seem to be getting worse I do not doubt it.....what is bad is that poor officiating will cost somebody a deserving win before the playoffs are over.

Two years in a row RB could not compete w/ MHS.....suspicions are true...football not very strong in Chatt. I was told that score was closer than the game.....

Blade never cursed out 12. MJ staff was very bitter after game, sorry learn to lose as long as you run that offense. They were bitter because they actually thought they had a chance to win and it turned into a beat down. Maybe they were dejected and not bitter.

Never thought I would see the day a LC thread would turn into something you would see out of Coffee Co...... LC football has a rich history....maybe time for a change, maybe not......it's only going to get tougher for midstate or rural schools to compete with Rutherford and Williamson Co. on a consistant basis

The 'Pit" has been over rated for a long time....sad to say. Been to many playoff games at LC and enjoyed the atmosphere. It's reputation was built long ago and sustained for a few years with consistant winning teams. The 'Pit" scares no one now as does LC football.

I don't get it. The new school is 3 stories and will be packed full next fall...why aren't you competing in 5A? MJ pulled a slick one to stay 4A...........nuff said......good coaching staff in place, they will be competitive even in 5A.

Tough loss for Coffee C. They had a good yr and came close to winning the region. Last night was a tough way to end the season. Good luck next yr. Now when the CC faithfull talk about the great CC teams, they can add this 6-5 team to the conversation along with a couple of 7-4 teams from the 90's.

The Borros should not be challenged in the region if they come to play. Don't know how strong Maplewood, Stratford or WC will be. I'm sure they will be athletic and one or two could probably have a solid season. Tull should be better than average and not to be taken lightly, LC will not be as good as last year and Shelby will be better. Playoff spots will be filled with the same 5 programs.

4 but i don't count the years before price because we were really, really, really bad then CC is not very good now........I wouldn't knock past teams. I would not think it would be fair to past CC teams who played in a tougher region, district and played harder schedules and compare with the schedule CC has played the past 4-5 years. Does CC have any quality wins since Price has been there? Have they beaten anyone that finished with a winning recored? Excluding the 2-A and 3-A teams that CC played. I don't know, but I'm asking.

Been picking against Smyrna most of the time..............guess I will pick them to win against Overton. They certainly have the edge. But anything can happen on any given night.

It would be nice to get there and have a re-match with Oakland...two very good teams.....what the umpire told coach Jones on the balk call was that the pitcher stepped towards the plate and not towards third.....and anyone watching the game knows that didn't happen. But what upsets me the most is that wasn't his call...there were two other umpires in much better position to make that call and neither one of them said a word..... CC lost...does not matter if it is close or you got drilled. There are alot of other areas of the game that probably played into the loss that no one is mentioning. CC is evidently playing good ball right now, peeking at the right time. Put the loss behind you, forget about it and try and win a trip to the state tourn. which is unfamiliar ground for CC boys athletics.

Had some bad info from somewhere as to where the Oakland / CC game was to be played. No disrespect to CC 's stadium, it is what it is. This day and time with most school systems having money problems, its difficult for athletic programs to improve their facilities. Should be a good game.

Too bad the Oakland / CC game is at CC. Poor playing field and limited seating. Not a good venue for tourn ball. But CC has a good team and Oakland needs to be ready to play
