How do these teams look this year. What about the other teams around the valley...Grundy County, Sequatchie County and Bledsoe County?

I think it is a wise decision to commit. You have the right to change your mind. It may not be right, but recruiters aren't always doing the right things either. In one particuliar case I know of, the head coach offered this high school player. He told him to take his time and make a few visits to other schools and then let him know. The player did that! Then when he called to commit the coach said he didn't have a offer any more. Pretty dirty I thought!!

I wish UTC would give some of the valley kids a chance. There are some good players in the Sequatchie Valley. UTC just doesn't seem to want to gamble on them. Maybe this will change in the future. After all , where was there leading tackler from?????????

Indian....come on??? Cain is a great athlete, but 4.38 in the forty?? You are kidding....right? All the young men mentioned are fine athletes. I am not trying to take anything away from any of them. Let's just be realistic! Cain is as good a defensive back around, and college material. Just want to be realistic. Mackersie is a fine athlete, as well, as the Smartt kid. All can have future in football if they have the work ethic. Don't ever think that you can't, because when you do there may not be anyone else pulling for you. May be a few typing errors on here...I ain't to good at English.

You are getting a good coach Del if he comes. Coach Taylor is certified in special ed and drivers ed. Maybe the people in Grundy will appreciate how hard he works for the kids. Unlike the folks in Jasper. Well the driver's ed teacher is Ricky Richards. He's not going anywhere. And I don't know if special ed has a vacancy but I do know there is at least one teaching there on a waiver. If he has to go it won't be fair but most times fair doesn't enter into decisions over recent years. Del (who's not going to post any more on the football board for a while since the subject matter tends to rile me up.) Del, You seem to have a problem with Coach Taylor. Why is that?

There may be better stadiums in Tennessee than Marion County's , but the field there is the best I have seen all year. Second to none!

I would like to commend Houston County for their victory over Marion. Yes, turnovers hurt Marion very bad, as well, as penalities. That is part of the game. Houston County has a good team and played very hard. Marion got away from the technique they were using on #44 and it got them. The execution on some pass plays also hurt them badly. Houston County just carried out there gameplan better than Marion. This is a playoff game ....you can't afford to make the mistakes Marion did and expect to win. Marion played very hard, as well, Houston County played hard too. Just wasn't meant to be for Marion on this night. I love Marion more than anything, but you have to hand it to Houston County. They did the right things when they had too. Marion will come back and play hard in the future. They just have to learn how to get the job done when it is all on the line. And they will...... Good Luck Houston County, give David Lipscomb all they can handle.

I would love to see Sequatchie County pull it out. They have a very good team when they put it together. Defense will have to win it for them. Good Luck Sequatchie County. Also, good luck to all the Region 3 teams from AA.

This is not to make anyone mad. But, it would be nice if you kids quit acting like little kids and act like the young adults you are. Discuss the topic....not taking turns bashing each other. Keep to the topic with adult consideration. As for Tellico...yes they are 0-8...but not a typical 0-8 team. They play very hard and are in about every game. Meigs is a very good team, as well, it will be a great callenge for Marion to play them at Meigs...but that is next week. Marion can not overlook ANYBODY!! They have to play hard every game for 48 minutes to have a chance to win. They will not blow anyone out...but can play with everyone on the schedule if they do this.. Anything can happen on Friday or Thursday nights. That is why they play the games. So please act like adults or please moderator lock it...Thank you!

I would like to wish my good friend Coach Brewer good luck this week. He seems to be going through a rough first year. If the people of Monterey will be patient and stick with Coach he will eventually turn this around. He is a great man and also a very, very good coach. To his players...Coach can only put you in position to be successful. You have to excute and get the job done. Now I am not saying you aren't, but so many coaches are criticized because there players do not perform. So the community and the players and school need to rally behind these people and good things will happen. GOOD LUCK COACH...call me if you need anything.

Marion County has a nice stadium...but if you want to talk fields, it has the best around. If there are better I haven't seen them. This statement does mean there are not other nice fields and stadiums. I just think the field is second to none. Sequatchie County has a nice stadium as does South Pittsburg. North Jackson across the line has a nice place too.
