Iv read all the talk about coach jones over the past month and heard people talking on the street and from what i can telland from what i know, coach jones should still be at central. heres the thing, for all you know the president of the QB club could have agreed on the distrebution of funds and then when the funds were gone he took advantage of a great man and turned on him right when he knew that he could make him look bad. knowing all along that the president himself agreed on what was happening. I went to central all four years and i now go to UTC. Coach Jones had a way about him that made guys want to work hard and want to do good in class and want to play hard not just for him but for themselves. he tough integrity, high standerd of morals, respect for others and respect for yourself, even to the kids that he didnt coach on the field. Jones was the best thing that happened to central in 20 years and some how we find a way to do away with him. i think that president of the QB club should have either swallowed his pride and cept his mouth shut or he should now step up and try to fill jones' shoes. Central wont find another coach like that in a long long long time. I feel real sorry for the kids that play now and even more sorry for the ones that are still in middle school cause they wont even know the story. It just a shame. And i think everyone from our school knows who i am and knows that i truly feel this way about jones. he could have made something even more special at central. Good luck wereever you go coach. JT

Newsome...First what the heck do you know about a football assignment? you have never evern been on a practice field (in high school)...all you know is that if brent is in the area then he should have made the tackle but what you dont understand is that alot of times his real assignment takes him across the field and he is still able alot of times to make the tackles that he shouldnt have made. you dont know enough about the game to be on this sit man....stick to basketball It dont really matter who is better between ImaOwl and brent cause ImaOwl dont play anymore. Brent has what it takes to go D1 alot of yall have said that and i beleive that if brent wants it bad enough he will play linebacker at a D1 school because he has that big of a heart. Irish....i think i know who you are and ill tell you right now that you dont know everything that brent has gone through to be where he is it goes beyond his knee. Brent is still averageing around 18 tackles a game and that isnt bad for anyone.

did they practice...hahaha....let me say to whoever it was that said "knowing central it wouldnt surprise me if they didnt" you dont know you butt from a hole in the ground man until you have played for Jones you dont know what your talking about. The way you find out if central practiced is to ask yourself if they were aloud to practice. central will practice every day that they can so in the future as long as jones and his crew is up there always know they are on the practice field every day that they can be it dont matter how well they are doing. they practiced everyday last year and they went further than any other public school in this area...they were good and they still praticed you better believe they will practice every day this year. i thyink its safe to say that you need to get you facts straight before you start making posts like that crap.

make no mistake....this will be a heck of a game and it will be great to watch and i do agree that central is underrated and they do have the ability to will this game i cant wait till friday. GO POUNDERS!!!

central has every chance to win this game. and as alot of people have said this is a hard region to predict so i know no one can say rhea will win by no 30 points thats just stupid. someone said last week cleveland by 50 and they got beat so pull you head out you @$$ and make some realistic posts.

good post uncleD....i would have agree that central does play best with their backs against the wall. Central right now is right on the verge of being awsome....they average so many yards but shoot themselves in the foot in the redzone. they fix a few problems and they will be unstopable period they will go from not much to one of the best. and as far as "the central bad-wagon" no one ever talks bad about any other schools bad wagon but when the pounders fans get pump up about their team people get pissy....i think that shows very little character...but its ok cause central will show up for the next 3 games and then they will show up again back in harrison for the first round of the playoffs.

ill tell you right now from a non biased point of view...Ooltewah does not have the team this year to beat the team SOddy has this year and thats as easy as it gets soddy will win by 10 points.

dont get me wrong thats not exactly the way i fell but what im saying is that that is the fiew of most of the community "that team stinks they must not have any coaching" i understand that good coaches lose. Curt Jones is a great coach and if you look at Caldwell (i think correct me if im wrong) won state at Red Bank then went to dade county and won like 2 games in 2 years and now id at Soddy Daisy and is 7-0.

wow i can hardly believe this. you know im beginning to think that im their bad luck charm cause i wasnt there and they won and iv come in late to games where we were winning and then lost after i got there. I dont know the full story but i must say great job guys yall showed the whole state up tonight.

imaowl......the teams that bring at least 2 guys to block him every play are the teams that fear him. and if im not mistaken ooltewah did every play and at times had 3 on him dont tell me thay didnt cause iv seen the tape. very very few players in this state would want to go head up with brent and you can askone from this area and they will tell you brent is a man amoung boys. people say he isnt very fast....brent doesnt run as fast as he can alot of the time because he over runs plays when he does so he slows it down alot to time the hits and watch for cut backs. Ask any running back in this area that has every hit him and they will all have the same story.....avoid him if you can.

well no i can say that the play calling sucked last year and it stinks this year. many times, i know for a fact, last year a play would be called and then changed in the huddle because it was so ridiculus. And why is it the coaches fault? well why is it the presidents fault when the unemployment rate rises or when the economy is in a slump? its the coaches fault because they are responsible for the players and it is their job to win. Heck I can get paid to lose; anyone can but thats not what you are being paid to do as a coach. you get a check for winning, and if you dont its your fault.

Brent hayes as sophmore had 165 tackels in 11 games and made all state and all state honorable mention. in his junior year he had 77 on 4 and a half games before being putout for the season against Tyner Academy. Brent has bounced back from his enjury and all though started out slow is picking up the pace and has had 2 of his best games ever (in my opinion) against tyner and brainerd. he has had around 37 tackles and 9 for loss in those two games combined the big boy is back on his feet and is claiming his title as the best LB in Central history. I cant believe people are talking baout him slipping through D1 cracks. A work horse like brent dont give up and will do whatever it takes to be where he needs to be when its time. If you say he isnt good give me reasons but make sure they are facts cause i know him very well and i know th truth. Brent is still one of the most feared LBs this side of Tennessee.

Well i dont go to Central anymore so its hard for me to say whats goin on over there but from what i do know i have to agree with everyone thus far. Central has the athletes and the potential but they are just missing somewhee and im not real sure what it is; they just dont have the same fire as last year. Hayes had another good game this week and im real proud of 'em. i think central needs to do something about their play calling as everyone knows by now im sure woods to the right woods to the right and a deep ball every possestion is getting too common. good game to brainerd. and good luck to my boys in harrison.

Well then again everyone was talkin so much trash 2 weeks ago about how bad ooltewah was gonna kill central and the pounders brought them a good game. I think central will play well and im even willing to say that they will win. I don't know by how much, but I'll say either way this one will not be a blow out. Tyner is a heck of a team even this year, and I know they have not only speed but alot of play makeing athletes. Central can win this one if they want; all year they have stoped themselves. They are the only team I have ever seen that can have 450 yards of offense and still lose. They get down in the red zone and commit turnovers; they have to and I believe will get that undercontral. Central is alot better then they get credit for and this will be a heck of a game....period.

Centrals D will have their work cut out for them i hope they are ready. brent is gonna have a tough night i think they will have 2 on him all night and sometimes 3. if he gets 15 it will be an astonishing night for him cause they are gonna be keying on him hard.

Ok i know yall hate my guts but i cant take this anymore. Ill say that you are all right, both central and ooltewah fans. First ill say that central beat ooltewah last year really by something like 56-14 they put the JV in and ooltewah's varsity raped them a little and got some points on the board....big men yall should be proud. Central needs to relize that they cant keep talking "o well we had too many penalties and turnovers" sure it stinks but thats what makes a team lose and a team win thats the game the better team wins no matter what. you make more penalties and that makes you a worse team. Woods will run the ball alot and he will have well over 100 yards i think central will come to play and i know that they seem to be improvng week after week. will central win? i dont know that remains to be seen last year i could have told you before the year started but like everyone knows that was last year and central and ooltewah both have changed. should be a good game those who think it will be a blow out are in for a treat.

Central is coming around. you have to remeber that this was just John's 3rd game ever at QB. The problem is that they drive down field hard core and turn the ball over on inside their own 20.that explains all the yards and little points. They seem to be playing together a little better and i think they will improve week after week. Brent had a pretty good game but had his usual duoble and triple team goin. they were moving the ball even to the end of the game but didnt have enough time to make anything of it. they will be ok with a little more time. they play ooltewah next week which shut down mcminn but i think the pounders will hold their own.

look im a central fan and i love the school and the team and i think they will win but not by alot. they will make some changes im sure...didnt warren county win last week?

yeah the pounders will play Warren at Chatt. Central on fri. and your right i think the best way to describe that game is "wow". look for them to come out and play like an different team this week, maybe not like last year but better than last week; im sure the coaches st central put them through heck this week.

chattcentralplyr....Mookie got hit in the backfield every play but on his own athletism he got out of it. not cause the O-Line was good.O'Dawg Beau and Tipton are good im not sure about the others.....they started a sophmore with no game experience that weights 200 pounds; and big difference from Hall Ohlman and Kuehn that graduted this year.

wow im as shocked as anyone. your right central did look a little distracted and unfocused. John has never played in a game before in his life and that i believe had alot to do with the game. he is a really good QB and has a great group of guys to throw to i think he just got a little excited it bein his first time. Central got beat fair but i think they will come out this year around .500. I have to give ND credit they looked alot better this year and not because we looked worse either they just seem to be playing as a unit this year. Brent had an alright night for his first game back. He had around 10 or 11 tackles if you count assists 1 forced fumble and an int. You have to put yourself in his shoes if you had an injury like he did you might be a little hesatant at first as well; he'll get back were he was; but in all i think he played real well for bein out as long as he has and comin from where he was. The story with the kicker is that he is a first year kicker and we had already proven not to be able to make an extra point so the alternative would be to go for 2. Central has to work on the O-Line like no ones business, John would have not throw the ball in the stands so much if he had a little blockin. Central has alot of tallent still and i think they will pick it up....alot of season is left to be played. good job ND on the win i hope yall do good in the future....tell Andy Price JT said hey.
