Wow.....BA is SOOO good- they literally returned more ( with the return of Bone from injury ) than they lost from their dominating state title team from last year. I bet these guys would be title contenders without Brandon but he just makes them amazing, can't wait to see these guys play throughout the year.

I've seen conflicting weather reports- Channel 4 said " strong to severe storms likely" while weather.com says 60% chance of just rain for Tuesday. If it's just rain i'm sure the games will be played as usual but storms could cause problems- for example if one game was cancelled or delayed earlier in the day it could screw up the whole schedule.

Good thing UT won on Saturday......we will have goal posts, also rain in the forecast for Tuesday- let's hope the lightning stays away and we get all the games in.

The QB, Park, is a big time player he runs and throws very well and can be very difficult to defend, MUS also has a reasonably big line-and it seemed the first time we played them they went only one way- but I could be wrong. Hopefully an MUS fan can give us more of a detailed report.

I agree with everything you said itzme.....except Nick did play the first game vs. MUS on offense, however he was not going both ways, he has since taken Terrell's spot at left tackle on defense, and has greatly improved the defense. I know this isn't as big of a rivalry game as MUS-CBHS or BA-MBA but I hope everybody realizes we are going to witness arguably two of the top 5 teams in the state play for a state title so let's keep this near the top and get some discussion going.

BA @ McCallie- Two of the best teams in the state fighting it out to go to the Clinic Bowl, McCallie beat BA 17-7 earlier this year so look for BA to be out for revenge while McCallie will be well rested and fired up to knock off BA who has eliminated them several times in the past in the playoffs. Also see the # 5 and #6 best players in the state ( acoording to Unapproved Website ) Barry Turner and Ayanga Okpokowuruk square off. There is not much bad blood here but just a good respectful rivalry with a lot of big hits and two very good teams giving their all to play one more week.

Great game........high school football at it's best. I'm sure MBA is glad to win and BA is upset at losing, but both teams know the real season starts next week- both teams have a difficult road to get back to Vanderbilt but it wouldn't shock me at all to see these two go at it again for state. By the way kudos to both teams: MBA has played great all year despite lower expectations due to all the talent lost from last year, and BA has rebounded nicely from an 0-2 start in region play, now the championship is up for grabs.....can't wait to see how this turns out.

I thought it was funny that Lockridge put " MBA will get revenge", if I were an MBA player the win in the clinic bowl would've put the regular season loss out of my mind- it seems if anybody has the " revenge factor " it would be BA. However, at the same time I think that has little or nothing to do with the outcome of the game. 24 hours away........also, I didn't pay real close attention but it seemed like some of Lockridge's playoff scenarios were wrong, anybody else notice that?

I am glad to see BCS step up the plate and play DII AAA, people are always complaining about how easy it is for us to make it to state because there are so few teams, we welcome anybody who wants to step up the challenge, I wish BGA, Knox Catholic, ECS, etc. would follow Briarcrest's lead.

Is a tie even possible? Anyways, interesting pick, we're about 3 days away now, I can't wait.

Like it or not....it will be played a lot tonight in Knoxville after UT just knocked off rival Alabama.

I don't know who is going to win, but I do know this is among the best high school games played all year in the state, even though the game will not affect playoff seeding both teams will give it their all and there will be thousands of fans, I can't wait.

I've been looking for a list of those games that don't count for awhile, thanks itzme, so after this week it looks like this i think, correct me if I'm wrong: 1. McCallie 2. MUS 3. MBA 4. BA 5-6. Baylor or CBHS ( which would be higher if both end with 1-3 region records? How stupid that three of the league's biggest games ( MBA-BA, BA-MUS, McCallie-MBA) have little affect on the playoffs.

Though nothing ever goes as planned in DII AAA, here is the most likely scenario, which will assume that favorites McCallie and Baylor win next weekend, 1. MUS 2. MBA 3. McCallie 4. BA 5. Baylor 6. CBHS which means- byes for MUS and MBA and CBHS @ McCallie and Baylor @ BA

Don't forget the 37-0 rout by BA.

BA-MBA is clearly the most intense rivalry in the state, they often meet twice a year, once at the end of the regular season, and in the playoffs, last year's regular season game was one of the most memorable in TN high school history.In terms of quality of teams and intensity in the games, BA-MBA is in a class of it's own.

Speaking of lost Vols players, what is CJ Leak doing these days? First the talk was of him playing opposite his brother at safety, and than I heard he was getting work at TE, I hope the best for him- in all the excitement of the freshmen people forget that CJ is in his 6th year and still doing anything to find the playing field, I admire his dedication.

Actually, BA did lose by 14-7 to Baylor in 1981, but that is their only loss. This should be an intriguing matchup of two teams with a lot of potential and talent, but neither have played up to their ability. The loser is almost guarenteed the 6 seed in the playoffs, while the winner still has a shot at a home game. I see a hard fought, 4 quarter game with the team making the fewest mistakes winning.

What about the drop kick? I think it's legal in the NFL but I'm not sure about High School, a lot of guys claim they're good at it, but I've never seen it done.

The word that comes to mind when I saw MUS play is Balance. When they played BA they were able to run and throw with equal success. However, I think the running game can be stopped a lot easier than the passing game, BA had several series where they dominated the run, only to be done in by long 3rd down conversions. MUS did break a 70 yard run- but it was mainly due to poor BA tackling, if MBA plays fundamentally sound football I see them pulling this one out, 35-24.

Well while we sit here and speculate and rant and spread rumors, all Coach Flatt did tonight was rout Lone Oat and become the all time winningest coach in TN high school history. Congrats Coach Flatt.

Here's what everybody forgets about Flatt.....BA is about the size of a 1A school. There are approximatly 200 boys at BA and Flatt is still going to be the all-time winningest coach in state history. I would guess only a handful of times has BA ever taken on a school with less boys in the high school than themselves. I know some of you will say this is a result of recruiting.......and your right, good players watched and heard about BA growing up and that attracted them to the school. They were essentially recruited by BA's past success, which I don't think TSSAA has made a rule against. I know a lot of you guys don't like him, and I understand some of your points about BA recently, however, very few people know high school football like he does- and remember there is more to being a coach than just wins and losses, he also is a great teacher and leader to his players- I think he should be commended for what he has done and is doing, and don't count BA out yet- crazier things have happened.
