There is a Double Tree hotel in Murfreesboro about 3 minutes away from the school with a restaraunt and indoor swimming pool.It's also close to a movie theater and other restaraunts and also a Wal Mart.

I think the way they do it in Georgia is horrible. I do like the idea of playing the semi's at a neuteral site.Especially if it ends up like 4A this year and all the teams have identical records.I don't like the rotating which region hosts.A team shouldn't be punished with an away game after going undefeated. Just rotate which team is home and which team is away at the neuteral site and make the site the closest to the middle of the two schools. For example the Riverdale-Oak Ridge game would be played at Tennessee Tech.

More than likely it will be Riverdale vs Franklin. One thing I do know is that whoever wins between Riverdale and Oak Ridge will dominate the winner of the other game.

This is like California. Where each section takes a different number of teams. Except in California the criteria is based on how many wrestlers from your section placed at state. The more medalists at state the more qualifiers from your section. Sliverpie that zone is nothing like the southern section in California because the Southern section contains all of San Bernadino county which is probably as big as middle and east TN combined. It also contains orange and Riverside Counties as well. This section takes the top 8 to state while certain sections like the Los Angeles Section or the Oakland Section take the top 2 and San Diego and a few others take the top 3. Also keep in mind there are probably more schools in the Southern Section than in the entire state of Tennessee. As for me I like the idea of top 3 from each region because it makes the wrestler work to get to state more. I have seen in too many instances where a wrestler setteled for 4th in regions because he knew he was already going to state.

From my seat it looked like coach Rankin was talking trash to Orona and anybody that knows Orona knows that he takes no lip from anybody even a coach. The post game decision was made by both staffs. I didn't really see any cheap shots on Thomas. At least anymore than were being put on Orona or Johnson from Smyrna. Gaston Miller again was the difference. Him and the fullback won the game along with defense for Riverdale. I will say that I would have chose different plays to call if I was Smyrna though. From what I notice any team that wants to beat Riverdale needs to do one thing and that is get in shotgun and pass it all over the place.This will then open up a run game to control the clock.CPA could have beaten Riverdale if they had the depth. Smyrna's defense stopped Thomas again though and proves my theory that I stated earlier. Gaston Miller should be Mr. Football Finalist not Dave Thomas.

Why are there sometimes Linebackers that win the linemen award? I have seen it happen a few times.

Riverdale has a lot of good high school players. That does not mean they get looked at in college. As for Kenyon Buford, I think he is possibly the most overrated player ever to come out of Riverdale. He had size but not a lot of skill useful for college. Ironically the thing that got him the scholarship could get it taken away. Ralph King didn't have grades. Taron Henry got hurt. Keaton Andserson is not good ebough to end up at Louisville he is a corner and only about 5'6". Anyone who doesn't believe there are schools anywhere with that many D1 players look at Long Beach Poly high school in CA. Just 2 years ago they had about 10-11 sign D1 and 5 of them already contributed to a national championship at USC. The Dallas Carter team from "Friday Night Lights" had every starting defender sign a scholarship and 8 of them were D1 going to big time conferences such as the old southwest conference and the big east. Riverdale is just like De La Salle from CA. A lot of players that contribute to good coaching and good execution. These 2 teams are proof that you can win tihout a lot of D1 talent.

bhsOl. You can get excited about Kenny's bronze at state and then realize that Smyrna's JV team beat everyone in Rutherford Co. at the Dial tournament 2 years ago. This Fridays game will be better than the last one. I dont know who will win. I will say that if Smyrna wins it wouldn't be a shock to me.

I would rather see MBA play Dematha Catholic from Hyatsville, MD. They are usually in the top 25 every year in football and Basketball.

Smyrna has plenty of guys that would start at Riverdale. Besides Johnson and Orona Smyrna has 3 good wide recievers two of would start at Riverdale(Hinson and Martin). Smyrna also has a better secondary than Riverdale. They only average 80 yards a game passing. Which makes their defense look a lot better considering their 300 yards per game rushing. I seriously think that the game will come down to the lines and what they do. It will be Smyrna's passing because Riverdale hasn't really stopped the pass all year. Against Riverdale's running cause the only running team Smyrna really stopped all year was Wilson Central. Riverdale has more pressuer on them because everybody expects Smyrna to lose. I will say this though. Whoever wins this game will represent the east in the blue cross bowl.

I might be mistaken but Dave Thomas wasn't really the one who beat Smyrna last time. It was Gaston Miller who in my opinion should be up for Mr Football and not Dave Thomas. Doubling their stats as if each had played 4 quarters every game this season Gaston Miller would have almost 2900 yards rushing and 44 TDs. Dave Thomas would have 1200 yards rushing and 1800 passing with 44 TDs combined. Gaston Miller won their first 3 games for them including Smyrna.

The best 2 games this week are both in Middle TN. Riverdale vs Smyrna and Stratford vs Hillwood.

Everyone is talking about the skill positions but I will say 100% if Smyrna wants to win this game the Linemen have to play the game of the year. They are the reason Smyrna lost big last time and they might be the reason that Smyrna would win. As for Riverdale being mad about the sign thing. Can we please get over that? The McDaniel family has. I even talked to one of Jaquie's sisters this weekend and she said she thinks everyone over reacted. If Riverdale wins this game it will be by less than 14 points. I think each team will have at least 30 points.

I have heard that Hinson from Smyrna has offers froma few SEC schools and some Conference USA schools as well.

They should keep that mascot and change their name to the colonels because that mascot looks like Colonel Sanders the KFC guy.

Thi is kind of gross and the man that told me said he wouldn't hev believed it was true if he didn't see it with his own eyes. He said there was one game where he saw a guy get hit so hard that his skeleton shifted inside of his skin and his body looked crooked. TRUE STORY! As horrible as that sounds I would have loved to seen that hit.

Who you want to play doesn't matter because you lost to both of those teams and will most likely lose again. But it doesn't matter because Coffee Co. wont beat Lebanon.

I dont know much about Hazel Green, AL. All I know is they have a good team. If Lincoln Co. plays like they did against Coffee Co. and Cumberland Co. they will still lose because Smyrna is a better team than both of them. I know Cookville is supposed to be good this year but I will go as far as saying that Smyrna being the 3rd place team in Region 4 would have won a region title if they played in Region 3. So would Lebanon and of course Riverdale. Region 4 is not that good of a region this year but they are still head and shoulders above region 3. Blackman and maybe even Oakland could have made the playoffs if they were in region 3. In this game Smyrna will win by at least 14.

Smyrna vs Hendersonville was the best game I saw this year. All offense in this game. Final score 48-42. Also Smyrna vs Gallatin was a good one.

I agree with coach763. If a team that doesn't have 5 wins can't go to a bowl game why should they be allowed to go to the playoffs? I know travel would cost more and attendance wouldn't be as high but I also they they should do seeding for the playoffs instead of matching the regions. This would assure that the two best teams have a shot at playing for the state title. This year in 5A wouldn't it be great to see Riverdale and Dobyns-Bennett play for the state championship. There would be like 25,000 people at that game.

I dont even know if Nunley would start at Riverdale. He might not even start at Smyrna or Lebanon for that matter. Every game Nunley has played against a good team he has been shut down. Just like he did against Lincoln Co. last year and Smyrna in the playoffs. Region 3 is very weak with the exception of Cookville. Region 4 is not good either but there are one or two teams that didn't make the playoffs in region 4 that would have made it if they played in region 3.
