  1. The Unaka Girls will be playing in a Christmas tournament in Roan County. But not the boys. Unless coach added it on the schedual and didn't tell me.
  2. Thats all right. I wasn't tring to make a compotition either.Anyone who beats UH are friends of mine. Thats asuming your from Greenfield. I think you are. Ya'lls schedual sound fairly tough too. Maybe we'll meet each other at State this year. Good luck.
  3. Flossie, ya'll may very well get ONE of the 3 or 4 games we play this year in Boy's baskettball, but heck, everyone gets lucky. I'd like to see Bird and Tolley take on Science Hill or Temple! It'll never happen. And remember last year in base ball, we are up 9-0 in the top of the forth, and then put bench players in? Well, we won't do that this year. We'll run the score up so much and rub your face in it, your eyeballs will look like hamburger meet!
  4. Umm, would you mind defining compete, please. I beleiving being good in two out of five sports is not copeting.Boy's basketball, been booted out first round of the regionals for god knows how long. And don't say being in the regionals is a great acomplishment, 'cause all you got to do is be better than Clinch. Never won a WVC title in my recolection. Softball, lets not even start there. Baseball has alot of room to improve, but I will admit, ya'll are getting better. Put up a good fight against UH in that 1-0 decision in the disticts last year. The way you said "at least we can compete in other sports" leads me to belive that you don't think that we are good at anything. Let me refresh your memory B basketball: six WVC titles in a row, Sub-state 3 years in a row, went to state. G basket ball: sub-state 2 out of the past three years. Softball: Don't know how many sub-states in a row. Baseball: the last five years, five WVC titles. 3 sub-states, and one trip to the state. That, flossie, is competing.
  5. You know, its nice that someone still has an imagination in this world..... flossie, you talk so much crap, I can smell you all the way up on the creek. You are just so full of yourself. Anyone who loses to Washburn in anything is pidiful. Plus, your #1 'Landers losing to a team with a name like CAK dosen't help either. I wouldn't count on Byrd either. I hear his ankle is the size of a grapefruit and is colors I didn't even know existed. Am I saying your team stinks, no. They will finish 2nd in the conferance and district, in front of UH, and BEHIND Unaka. From what I saw last year ya'll don't have any depth. Thats whats going to kill you. Ya'll will be reliveing 72-13 all over again..... except this time, you will be on the lower end of the score
  6. Well jvaughan, I'm not picking sides here, but I just know of a harder 1A schedual: Unaka. Try playing these teams: Bearden, Greeneville, Pickitt Co., Clay Co., Science Hill(Johnson City), Tenessee High(Bristol), Harriman x2, Cosby x2, University High x2(same UH ya'll beat last year in semi-finals), Knox. Catholic, Cloudland x2, Temple, and McCallie . Beat that.
  7. No one has posted on this for a long time, but I will. Now, I don't mean to be dissing any of you plus members when I give my opinion, 'cause you most likely know more about anything than I ever will. The Flordia system looks pretty good aside from one flaw: polotics in the governing body may leave some schools out because they don't like them. Plus, I am kind of biased, I like the way it is now. Granted, I am from Unaka, and we got to the playoffs with a 5-4 record. First time in 10 years
  8. CPA is a 4 seed, aren't they. They will, in my opinion, win the state.
  9. Meow, I'm sorry I even brought it up. Everyone has an opinion, but as osubrutus said, it is a dead subject.... Good luck this year.
  10. DekeRivers, we play Bearden and Greeneville at Johnson Co. next Friday and Saturday. We play in the Pickett Co. Tournament on Thanksgiving Weekend. Schedualed to play Pickett Co. and Clay Co. there. We also play, as you mentioned, Temple and McCallie. Also, we play Cosby twice, Harriman twice, Knox. Catholic, and Science Hill and Tennessee High in Round Ball in the Hall.
  11. This is just my suggestion, but watch out for the Lady Rangers of Unaka. Granted, they only finished second in district 1 1A to Cloudland, but they had a underclassmen laden team with only two seniors. All the rest were sophomores and freshmen. They have a great mix of speed, size, and skill. Look to be the team to beat in Region 1. Good luck Ladies.
  12. Sorry,..... if you knew who I was you'd most likly kill me. Sorry if I insulted any of you ladies reading this. Osubrutus, its just so different when you lok at it from the fans standpoint, coach. But I probably should have kept my mouth shut. I look foward to when we play ya'll this year. Are you coaching over there? Its a shame you had to switch schools. As for the scrimages, I don't know. You'd think they would have one this week. I know they beat Science Hill last week.
  13. Thats good to know. Last year when we played Clinch, they had to stop the game for a short time because the roof was leaking. Those locker rooms were also nasty. Could barly stay in there at all it smelled so bad...... Do you go to Clinch or are a parent there? Its good they are getting new things, because it was pretty nasty over there. The floor looked like it hadn't been waxed in decades.
  14. Plus they are from the East. No one from the east gets much respect.
  15. Because they got cheated out of that last Cloudland game, and got no calls from the refs at the Hancock Co. game. Makes them look bad. Plus they have no seniors. But they have very good players. Jessica Osborne, Lacy Gouge, Renee Ensor. Coty Towndson, Julie Robinson, Megan Johnson, and Tiffany Babb.Thats not all. Looks like they have a very good freshman class coming in..... They will beat Cloudland this year. Good luck Ladies!
  16. Yes, they combined wit Powell Valley to make Cumberland Gap. Was Forge Ridge's gym smaller than Clinch's?
  17. Thats all right..... just watch it next time, O.K.!!!!!
  18. The last time ya'll played under a full moon, you beat us by 59.....umm, good sign.
  19. Creeker, I told you to watch out what you said! I'll have to have a little talk with you tomorrow morning. I followed the 01-02 team closely. I am now the manager, and I will tell you now, this team CAN play better than that one. Do I think Chambers is as good as Dugger...... not quite. But we have more than two or three key payers this season. We WILL be a team to watch out for. Cloudland fans, I apologize for CrekerCalhoun, he runs his mouth before he thinks sometimes. It will be a good, hard-fought game whenever we play...... we will be the two playing for the Conferance this year. I don't think UH will be as big a factor.
  20. Sorry it took me so long to answer. Our leading player is Rusty Chambers. He was the leading scorer in east Tenn. last year, as a junior(I think he averaged either 28 or 32 points per game.) Other seniors include Josh Jones( great inside) and Cody Colins(pretty good, great shooter) We also have junior Derick Cline, an all-around baller. So we ought to be fun to watch this Thanksgiving weekend. See you there.
  21. Capp, just to clear things up, because krich can't( he is having, uhhhh, problems with his computer) he wen't to Midway Elementery here in Carter County. It closed about 20 years ago, and is now cheap houseing for Mexican workers. Sad way to go down..... hope your school dosen't have the same fate down the road
  22. Just found out Santa Fe is in there. There is a pretty good team to. So there are four teams....... I wonder if that is all there is? I thought there were eight.
  23. It oughta be a greart tournement. Now people don't start fussing at me for not talking about the top 1A teams, cause I am. Look at this tourniment: Pickett Co. Clay Co., Unaka. All will be top 10 teams in my opinion. Who else will be in this tournement. It would be really great if we had people like Red Boiling Springs and Westmorland in there. They should have good teams this year.
  24. D-B has a huge gym. Sullivan East's gym is pretty big too
  25. Roper is doing pretty good from what I hear. More than likely will dress varsity.
