  1. have you been drinking? Seriously, it's one thing to be confident and I would never concede a win but it's another thing to be totally off the wagon! I just want to go on record that I do not have a prescription for the same medicine that 91 is on
  2. Not sure why SC spread the field the whole wayvand then decided to pack it in down at the goaline....that made no sense. DB could not cover the WRs all night especially #1
  3. I believe he was referring to Mr Football finalist not some stupid poll by someone that has not seen many (if any) of the teams play. Untill something gives, Maryville is still Maryville.
  4. Actually from alot of what I've been reading a bunch of people already had DB penciled into the 3rd round big game with Maryville...which would make this thread unnecessary. I'm not the one that asked at the end of the DB/Bearden thread about "how do we compare to Maryville?" That's all I've read! My point was to remind everybody of past failures and the fact that Sevier County is the next opponent
  5. Go back and get caught up on the whole issue...you'll understand.
  6. FYI NEWS FLASH! I'm not at the games or on Coacht to support you people. I support the team...you know the players. You people are the ones always sitting on here doing a disservice to the team by wondering how they match up against Maryville when they still have a game to play BEFORE that. I would say the buttpirates are the ones asking how the team stacks up against Maryville when a very good Sevier County team stands in the way. And then are disappointed when the team goes down without ever making it to the 3rd round. You want to discuss Xs and Os thats cool but most of the "fans" are just wondering where they will sit at the Maryville game in 2 weeks...
  7. I am...I'm going to MAryville for round 3....it's all everyone is talking about you know
  8. unless track starts up soon he wont be a factor unless he plays basketball cause Sevier County done gone and throwed us a bone and told us we could have next week off to get ready for the big game (that's just what we'll call it now so we'll all know....all other games are irrelevent anyway)
  9. Don't sweat it spear....the formula is already figured out: Bearden looked better than Maryville + DB beat down Bearden=DB dominates Maryville (over by halftime would be my guess). And oh by the way, you can take next week off cause Sevier County was nice enough to forfeit so DB could rest up for the big game. (although if you apply the formula correclty it wont be a big game at all cause DB will win going away...maybe even by halftime)
  10. see 91 you said it yerself....you don't have to ask what other people think about Maryville. We can use your own words that Bearden "looked" better than Maryville and add that to the fact that DB beat Bearden (although Bearden may have "looked" better but that would just trash my formula) and what you end up with is that DB is WAY better (and I don't care if Maryville does look better or not). This sure is some complicated figurin but you sure do have the right formula for success. Boy I'm just glad DB wont have to waste their time preparing for Sevier County since they forfeited.
  11. I thought Sevier County had already called and forfeited this game to allow DB extra time to rest up for the big Maryville game. At least that what I thought. dbFAN91 can you update us on where this stands? I'd like to go ahead and make my plans for next week so my schedule will be all clear for the big Maryville game...man I can't wait. Thanks smokey bears you guys are the best
  12. It's simple....Let's see, you said that Bearden looked like the better team than Maryville when they played and now DB has beatn up on Bearden....so by your thinking DB should put that game away by halftime
  13. Did I miss something? Did Sevier County forfeit next weeks game to allow DB to get ready for Maryville (assuming Oak Ridge forfeited as well)? Dude! stop with this Maryville garbage until DB actually makes it to the friggin 3rd round! How long have you been a DB "fan"? Did you forget that this same SC team put DB out of the playoffs in a monster comeback last year (choke job by the coaches)? You do remember the McMinn County debacle (Ginormous choke job by the coaches)? Or William Blount twice? Or Ooltewah? Let's hope the team can go out and take care of business NEXT WEEK....RIDICULOUS! SHHHHHH!!!!!
  14. Now now bigboy those cheap shot days are over. Didn't you hear that Jeff Co won the Bobby Dodd sportsmanship award?
  15. You tell e'em Coach Clark. Save 'em if ya got 'em...there's always next year.
  16. you can just stop with the angle that Science Hill fans were above the fray. I work with a DB fan that sat on the SH sidelines and heard more than one fan yelling to break Malik's M$%^&^& F@#*%^& ankles and yelling at the SH players not to help the M$%^&(^% FW#%$^#^# DB players up. So there are fanatics in every crowd. Not to mention what orangeandwahite spoke of. I guess 18 years will do that for a fanbase.
  17. Hmm...that's not what you were saying last week. How do you know how good Science Hill actually is? Oh yeah they played DB close so they must be good.
  18. What do you mean "what's he waiting on"? Well next year of course..... Oh I'm sorry I am supposed to say "This game will be over by halftime!" "DB will win easily...something like 492-2 (GC will use that famous have-the-QB-run-around-the-end-zone-to-kill-clock play that was used to perfection in the McMinn County game a few years back to allow Bearden to score a safety)" yeah that's my prediction
  19. I think more than a few from the DB side underestimated the Hill. I also believe more than a few that gave SH no shot are now allowing this close game to influence opinion that now SH is a dominate team and DB is on the way....this is just part of the whole picture and history has shown that average SH teams have played "good" DB teams close. They can't focus on this game to propel them into the playoffs because they will flop. DB basically allowed one player and 4 turnovers to almost beat them. I wouldn''t take anything away from this game as to where the season stands for either team (remember that TH scored 48 points and had 564 yds against the SH defense). And history has proven that SH playing DB close has not been a springboard to consistent greatness.
  20. over 400 yards rushing (that's pretty good) and almost 500 yards total offense....DB outgained Science Hill and won time of possession...overcame 4 turnovers that led to 27 points...overcame a 15 point 4th qtr deficit to win....Left 2 points on the field with the missed extra point and the decision to chase that point after the next score (way too early in my opinion)...Swafford not a great factor...I would say that's what good teams do. Held anyone on the Science Hill team not named Reed Hayes to about 50-60 yards. Time will tell how they go from here but this game has not necessarily been an indication of where the team stands overall as there have been many good DB teams that have played close games against average Science Hill teams. Even Gilligan was able to coach a .500 team to a 10-6 loss and in '06 it was 14-0 against a mediocre JC team. in '02 a terrible JC team only lost 7-3 to a great DB team that ended up giving away a semi final win to Riverdale on there home field. Where did Science Hill go from there to now? I'm waiting and seeing if Carter can get it done because I have heard from former South players that DB week he was already whipped. When they sell that new stadium out for some big games then I'll believe the community is ready to step up and get behind this team. Shoot there were more DB fans in JC last year than SH and they couldn't even fill the last game at old memorial against DB. And they are the 4th largest school in the state so they should be able to play with the big boys. We'll see. Maybe these "fans" were the same ones on here predicting DB would win by 10675 points and were disappointed with "only" a 3 point win but they won none the less. The same dillusional DB fans that predicted blowout and the game would be over by half time (Art, etc) are the same ones giving props to how SH is now ready to step up and play consistent big time football. And you'll be the same ones on here whining when the team bails out. As much as I see this game as 2 great teams playing big time ball I see enough to concern me that DB defensivly can't control any passing attack and they are prone to turnovers and suspect coaching decisions. I may be proven wrong. My concern was Clark chasing the missed extra point so early and had he kicked to go up 20-7, then DB probably is ahead late instead of tied.
