  1. You think Coffee Co vs Smyrna is the most even of the first round games? I have to disagree; what about Hendersonville@Dickson County? These two teams met earlier this year, with Dickson Co. winning 17-14. Or how about Franklin@Hunter's Lane? Both teams are very good, and the winner could go far in the playoffs. Or if you're looking for upsets, watch out for Centennial @ Antioch. Both teams can put up a lot of points, and if Centennial can stop Antioch on one or two drives, we could have ourselves one heck of a game!!!
  2. How about the Franklin vs. Hunter's Lane game? Franklin is the best third seed in 5A, it should be a great game.
  3. It's a lot different kicking a field goal in a relaxed setting and doing it as part of the team. A lot of the time kickers can kick further when they first start because they have no mechanics, so they can do a lot of things wrong, but still make the FG through. Maybe this girl is kicking 40 yd FG's, but lets see how she does with pads and helmets on and 11 big guys coming towards her.
  4. ok, so what are the results that they're going to use come playoff time? Because the fact remains that Gallatin had to forfeit those games! I hate that it happened, i think its crap, but what happens happens.
  5. lol, i guess no one has anything to say!
  6. While the region championship of 6-5A is being decided with Dickson Co. and Franklin, Centennial will host Clarksville to see who will clinch the 4th seed in this hard-nosed region. Both teams are 4-6, 3-3 in the region. What does everyone think about this game?
  7. To be honest, I'm not that impressed by Brentwood's Defense. They let 20+ points against Centennial and Franklin, both being very good teams. After seeing what Dickson Co. did to Centennial, I don't think Brentwood can win this game. Dickson Co. 35 Brentwood 21
  8. Region 2 will be lucky if they get 2 teams in.
  9. Look at the thread about who's gonna win state this year, and 90% of the people said Lincoln Co. would win 5A. Stop complaining about no respect, go out there and keep winning.
  10. I think the Bruins are finally understanding that luck has somethin to do with the game. This season they have been the Ohio State of Tennessee, with luck being HUGE on their side. If the Franklin-Brentwood game was a "fluke", then so was the Centennial-Brentwood game. But at the end of the day the team with more points wins, and we'll see Dickson Co. with plenty more. DCHS-38 BHS-21
  11. DroptheBo is right, Bates is TOO important to the power running game to strap up at quarterback. It's obvious that he's better than Scott, but Bates has been playing Quarterback since his sophomore year, so he has much more expierience. Still, he is the reason scientists want to make clones!
  12. The main thing we need to understand about this game is that Centennial is going to let at least 3 touchdowns, even if they play great. It's up to Centennial's offense to score at least that much, if not more. This means that if Dickson shuts down Centennial's running game, there is NO way Centennial can win. Franklin did it, and I'm sure Dickson knows what the rebels did to stop Steele and Bates. Dickson's road only gets harder from here, but this game will go to Dickson Co., who is the more balanced team on offense. Dickson Co. 24, Centennial 18
  13. lol, ok, how about this. WesVols rates EVERY player on Franklin, FHSrebel27 rates EVERY player on BA, I create each team(via NCAA Football 2004), plug the players in, have them play 12 minute quarters on Varsity settings, and the winner is better!!
  14. Those polls mean NOTHING. Stop basing which team is better by those things. They haven't played, and they won't play this season.
  15. All I know is that Centennial will benefit from the rezoning, im pretty sure they'll be getting part, if not all, of natchez. As for GMS vs. FMS, there are A LOT of students at Centennial that are great athletes, but do not play Football.....mostly because of.....err....dislikings for the head coach.
  16. After seeing Centennial play both teams, it's hard to distinguish which team is better, because they are two very different teams. BA's rushing offense is better, but Franklin's passing game easily exceeds the Eagles. On defense, it's not really fair to compare, because when Franklin played Centennial, they had 9, sometimes 10 guys in the box, so it was hard to do much against them. Special teams goes to Franklin, and thats a huge strength to the Rebels. Coaching isn't a factor, because they are both very well coached teams, niether is better than the other. So who's the best team in the county? Well, all I know is it sure isn't Brentwood High!!

    Kenwood

Can anyone give me info on the Knights? Who are their best players? Any stats? Weaknesses? Strengths?
  18. Greg Gregory is trying to improve his football program. He's gotten some great assistant coaches, a schedule that is one of the hardest around, and a team that WANTS to win, something that is only in its 2nd year at Centennial. I understand why people wouldn't put Centennial in the same class as B-wood and Franklin, but I think tonight Centennial will show that they do belong.....whether they win or lose.
  19. Gosh Williamson Co. is great!
  20. I just don't think that the "homefield advantage" will be much, because everyone from Centennial will most likely be at the game. Call me crazy, but thats what im thinkin.
  21. I seriously doubt that Jeff. Co will win state. Sure, they MIGHT get past DB, and then, by a stroke of luck, they could upset Lincoln Co. But if they get that far, either Franklin, Dickson Co., or Germantown will beat them.
  22. Theres probably 50 kickers we could deem "good" in tennessee, but what colleges are looking for are consistency. For kickers, touchbacks are good to have, and while the colleges like a good leg, they're more interested in the accuracy. Kicking off the ground is a bit harder than off a 1 inch block, so making sure that the ball is going straight from 35-40 is going to impress scouts than missing a 50 yd FG. As for punting, they like a good hang time, usually 4-4.5, with about 45 yds average. David Defatta is one punter who is very good and has these qualifications. Scouts also look for what u do when its more of a pooch kick situation.
  23. I don't know if the homefield will be that much in effect, because every Centennial student is going to be there as well, as long as parents, the band, and just football fans. Homefield might be a bit of a factor, but not much.
  24. Do you think 5-5A has a good chance come playoff time against 6-5A? Dickson Co, Franklin, Brentwood, and Centennial all are very good teams, I think it will be hard for 5-5A to make it out of the second round.
  25. Franklin's O has been good, it's not just special teams. Centennial's D is good too, i can;t wait to see the D- line of the cougars vs the O-line of the rebels.
