That's what I'm talking about... two VERY classy, dignified and INTELLIGENT posts. Thanks, guys, Heritage has had it rough, but, as RebelRaider does not seem to understand, the boys that have played, and are going to play have feelings and heart. I am so very glad that I do not judge Maryville fans on one young kid's babbling, but unfortunately, some people do. My son has some good friends that were on 2003 team (Congratulations, Rebels) and these young men have class and dignity. So I can only assume that this young man does not play ball, or he would know better than to post such rubbish. ANYWAY... good luck to all four Blount County teams, I love them all!!!

I do not know why I even dignify RebelRaider's moronic posts with a reply so I won't....
-
AHHHH! RebelRaider strikes again... I am SO GLAD that the other Maryville fans have more class than this ..... well, this is a family board so I will not throw stones.
-
GovMan, Are you going to the game? I think I will mosey on over there tonight and watch the Girls.
-
OK, I am really ready for the laughs on this one..... JOHN DENVER. I grew up on Rocky Mountian High and Sunshine On My Shoulder. Really takes me back to the good old days sitting in the sun, water glistening, braiding my boyfriend's hair..... wait, that really dates me!

We just lost Coach Corum after the 2003 season. He will make a great addition to any coaching staff. I have the upmost respect for Lane and I appreciate all he did for my son for the four years he was his coach.
-
That ought to be worth a new Hummer!!!
-
I did not say our win-loss record, I said our stats. No, we did not win, but we sure did out-stat several teams.
-
I can guarantee you that Heritage is a sleeping giant. There is and has been talent there. Our stats from 2003 season will tell you that. However, the fact is that we MUST have support from the administration and the parents. We must have commitment from the top down to the bottom. It will take some time, Rome wasn't built in a day!!! I keep saying "we".... my son is gone, but I still love HHS Mountaineers and I will still be a volunteer Booster.

I am heading down to Billy Blount tonight to see this game. I have A LOT of family ties with both William Blount and with Maryville. I have one cousin coaching, two cousins playing, another cousin as AD and a brother announcing. Even though I am a die hard HHS mom I will enjoy "Family Ties". Good luck to both teams, I will see you there! P.S. I hear there is a Chili Supper!!!!!

If you are that close to Fulmer, you will also be my neighbor!

Yup, Heritage High School in beautiful Maryville, TN. I found a really good web site with all of Prine's lyrics. It sure brought back some memories!!!
-
Ah, John Prine... I have seen him three times. It's hard to beat "Illegal Smile" , "Sam Stone", and "Old Trees".
-
I was told that the boys at Heritage were told that they would know who their new coach was before they left for Christmas break.
-
Happy Big Day RebelRon! I hope the Rebs go the distance. RebelsMan, you are surely not over 40 are you?
-
Well, I'll be darned! My bad, I just ASSumed that it was a joke, actually I jped it was. Dear Susie, I am so glad you are around to keep me straight.
-
Susie, If Suzette is a Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan, THAT is the connection between her and CoachDG.
-
I understand where you are coming from... we have lost our head coach also. I just wanted you to be aware that whoever 2hot4u is, they were just playing around. Maybe he will stop this foolishness and you can get some serious replies. Good luck in your search. Where is Henry County?
-
Guys, pay no attention to this post.... same thing was started earlier about Heritage and it did get some results. But I would advise to just ignore this.....
-
Agreed, RebelRon. Our county is well represented and I am proud of these guys.

I agree with Coach STSmith totally. My son has played for Coach Corum for four years and I have nothing but respect and admiration for him. He taught my son more than just the game of football, he taught him about life. And I will speak up and say that my son was one of the two ejected players in the William Blount game. My son did not start the scuffle, it was already in progress and he just jumped in the mess. So being on the "outside" of the pile of about 20 boys pushing and scuffling, he was seen and was ejected. He was immediately sorry that he did this, and he was duely punished and had to sit out the last game of his senior year. He did wrong. He knows that. He was punished. However. lack of dicipline on Coach Corum's part had absolutely nothing to do with my son losing his temper. My son lost his temper because he is a 17 year old high spirited boy who saw his teammates in a scuffle and thought (at the time) that he needed to help out. End of story. Coach Corum understood the cause of the emotions, but he did not advocate fighting as the answer. I have supported Coach Corum for four years and I will always consider him a friend and a good role model for my son. I wish him the very best luck in the future.

Coach Corum at Heritage did turn in his resignation, he told the boys yesterday. It was in the Daily Times today. Not sure about Coach Phelps.

What happened at William Blount?????
-
Folks, Everyone please join me in wishing GovMan a VERY HAPPY 41st Birthday!!!!!

Skunk- I am a Heritage (the "worst" team) parent and I will tell you that we are proud of our coach from D-B. My son has played for him for 4 years and he respects and loves Coach C. Our boys have struggles this year, but we played hard and had some real close games, and some games we should have won. In some cases our boys did not come through, and there were other factors in some games, but I will tell you this. Heritage Football is proud, and we owe a lot of this to our D-B coach. Thanks for the kind words.
