  1. I can guarantee you that Heritage is a sleeping giant. There is and has been talent there. Our stats from 2003 season will tell you that. However, the fact is that we MUST have support from the administration and the parents. We must have commitment from the top down to the bottom. It will take some time, Rome wasn't built in a day!!! I keep saying "we".... my son is gone, but I still love HHS Mountaineers and I will still be a volunteer Booster.
  2. I am heading down to Billy Blount tonight to see this game. I have A LOT of family ties with both William Blount and with Maryville. I have one cousin coaching, two cousins playing, another cousin as AD and a brother announcing. Even though I am a die hard HHS mom I will enjoy "Family Ties". Good luck to both teams, I will see you there! P.S. I hear there is a Chili Supper!!!!!
  3. I was told that the boys at Heritage were told that they would know who their new coach was before they left for Christmas break.

    Lordy, Lordy

Happy Big Day RebelRon! I hope the Rebs go the distance. RebelsMan, you are surely not over 40 are you?
  5. Well, I'll be darned! My bad, I just ASSumed that it was a joke, actually I jped it was. Dear Susie, I am so glad you are around to keep me straight.
  6. Susie, If Suzette is a Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan, THAT is the connection between her and CoachDG.
  7. I understand where you are coming from... we have lost our head coach also. I just wanted you to be aware that whoever 2hot4u is, they were just playing around. Maybe he will stop this foolishness and you can get some serious replies. Good luck in your search. Where is Henry County?
  8. Guys, pay no attention to this post.... same thing was started earlier about Heritage and it did get some results. But I would advise to just ignore this.....
  9. Agreed, RebelRon. Our county is well represented and I am proud of these guys.
  10. I agree with Coach STSmith totally. My son has played for Coach Corum for four years and I have nothing but respect and admiration for him. He taught my son more than just the game of football, he taught him about life. And I will speak up and say that my son was one of the two ejected players in the William Blount game. My son did not start the scuffle, it was already in progress and he just jumped in the mess. So being on the "outside" of the pile of about 20 boys pushing and scuffling, he was seen and was ejected. He was immediately sorry that he did this, and he was duely punished and had to sit out the last game of his senior year. He did wrong. He knows that. He was punished. However. lack of dicipline on Coach Corum's part had absolutely nothing to do with my son losing his temper. My son lost his temper because he is a 17 year old high spirited boy who saw his teammates in a scuffle and thought (at the time) that he needed to help out. End of story. Coach Corum understood the cause of the emotions, but he did not advocate fighting as the answer. I have supported Coach Corum for four years and I will always consider him a friend and a good role model for my son. I wish him the very best luck in the future.
  11. Coach Corum at Heritage did turn in his resignation, he told the boys yesterday. It was in the Daily Times today. Not sure about Coach Phelps.
  12. What happened at William Blount?????
  13. Folks, Everyone please join me in wishing GovMan a VERY HAPPY 41st Birthday!!!!!
  14. Skunk- I am a Heritage (the "worst" team) parent and I will tell you that we are proud of our coach from D-B. My son has played for him for 4 years and he respects and loves Coach C. Our boys have struggles this year, but we played hard and had some real close games, and some games we should have won. In some cases our boys did not come through, and there were other factors in some games, but I will tell you this. Heritage Football is proud, and we owe a lot of this to our D-B coach. Thanks for the kind words.
  15. Hey GovMan, GovNana wants me to bring her to the game tonight. Reckon an old HHS mom would get a good reception? Just kidding, I'll be glad to see a lot of my old buddies. Good luck to the Govs. Glad you don't have to play these guys on thier home turf.........
  16. Way to go, Rebels. From a "rival" county school, I would like to say I am proud of your team.
  17. Last night was Senior Night at Heritage High School in the foothills of the beautiful Smokey Mountians. Our gallant seniors fought hard to no avail losing to McMinn Co. But we are SO PROUD of our boys, they never gave up all year. Here's to our seniors: Kenneth Click Russ Brafford Richard Eggers Mark Mason Dustin Merritt Shane Myers Jamie Whitaker Seth Tharp Corey Stump David Cogburn Brian Yates Randy Swafford James Pulley Danny Hoggatt Brothers For Life. Thanks for the memories, boys.
  18. Yes it is Senior Night. It is hard telling what kind of crowd we will have since the game is on Thursday Night. But I can tell you that we have a very lovely view of the Smokey Mountains from our stadium, and by and large we have great fans. Wave at me when I go out on the field with MY SENIOR.....
  19. Yep, he is the guy at Heritage. I have a lot of respect for Lane, and you are right, he is very young to be head coach.
  20. Tribe, I can tell you we make darn good chili, so come on out early and eat a bowl in the Third Annual Chili Cook-Off. Mine is simmering in the crock pot as we speak!!! will you be at our beautiful stadium this fine evening?

    SENIORS

Well, you sure made the Mom of a senior shed a few tears with this post. Like your team, this week is our senior's last game, and I am anticipating some really raw emotions. GOOD LUCK CLASS OF 2004. I Love you #82.
  22. Big fight at the start of the third quarter. two Heritage boys were ejected for this altercation whic included about 30 boys from both sides.
  23. Zing, are you at liberty to say who your sister's ex-husband's new wife's nephew is?? Tribe, all the more reason to eat our delightful chili!!! You will be on one end and I will be on the other, so it will be of no consequence. ANd it will keep you nice and toasty warm!!!!
  24. It could very well be the upset of the region! As a HHS parenet I can say that Zing is correct, we just cannot seem to play 4 quarters of good ball. But we have been SO CLOSE for the last 5 games. Friday night was a very intense game. I was proud of the Mountaineers. Our kicking seems to hurt us a lot. We missed out PAT or it would have been a tie game at the end, with OT. Come on a litle early and have dinner at HHS, we are sponsoring our Third Annula Chili Cook-Off. We will sell you a great meal of chili, drink and dessert. And look around for me, I will have on a sweatshirt with #82 on it. Let's meet some of the friends we have made this year on CoachT.
