  1. I am very proud of this team. I see good things in the future for them and I support the team PROUDLY!!!
  2. So I guess someone has to start this thread. Predictions? Do you think this game will set a county attendance record? See ya there!
  3. I agree, if I am not mistaken we played the game on Thursday last year up here at Heritage because our kids were out of school the next day. It just does not seem like "Friday Night Football" when it is on Thursday night. Good luck to both teams, I pray there are no injuries (or fights :) GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!
  4. Why is the game changed to Thursday? Is McMinn Co out of school tomorrow?
  5. I am prepared for an exciting night, in more ways than one. I hope that everyone, players, fans, etc. keep their emotions in line. Vandalism HAS been around for as long as I remember, but it can get ugly. GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!! I want to see Mrs. Coach Rewis do about 50 more pushups!
  6. Let's hear it for the Maryville College Fighting Scots. Big win on Saturday made it three in a row!!! And at Homecoming, no less. The record is 3-3 right now, and I think we can win at least 3 of the last 4 games left. Best of luck to the team, and especially our local boys, Eggers, both Tharps, McCord, Hodge, Myers, Stanley, any others I happen to miss!
  7. I am really really looking forward to Friday night. As the MOST eloquent WB speaker, GOVMAN would say, It will be a cool crisp Friday night, the smell of bonfires in the air, good friends, good hotdogs, marching bands and high school football...... it doesn't get any better!!! One of my particular favorite parts of the WB-Heritage game is when the bands combine to play and the cheerleaders combine to lead a county wide cheer. I will have to go with Heritage, but it will be (or at least SHOULD BE) a close, exciting game. Seniors, let's get it done... I'll be cheering for Gil, Matt, Nik, Caleb, Parker, Tyler, all the rest.
  8. Richard Eggers...Freshman at Maryville College....Heritage graduate....DL Also Heritage graduates Seth Tharp and Travis Tharp GO SCOTS, on the road this weekend. Richard's first road trip....be safe!!!!
  9. Excellent game, Maryville, the Mountaineers were just not ready to play. I was proud of the good attitudes shown by both teams. Good luck in the rest of the season.
  10. Thanks for the compliment! Ya know, I get spread thin, my son played at Heritage, my cousin is AD at Wm Blount, my brother is the announcer at Wm Blount, one cousin is girl's basketball coach at Maryville, another cousin is on staff at Alcoa, neices and nephews and cousins kids all over the county. I just want Blount County to RULE!!!!! Boy, it probably will not be real hard now to figure out who I am!!!
  11. LET'S GO MOUNTAINEERS!!! Play hard, play clean and give 100%, that is the main thing. And if you can, come on out to Maryville College tomorrow at 1:30 for the Fighting Scots home opener. You can see a few of the "home boys" from HHS suit up. Big Tharp, Seth, Richie, Charlie Myers, Greg Stanley.

Final Farragut 7 Heritage 6 Good game, Mountaineers much improved on defense.
  13. LET'S GO, MOUNTAINEERS!!! I plan on being there to cheer on "my boys". Let's win this one for Randy Law!!!!!
  14. My heart is so heavy tonight. Randy Law was one of my favorite people, and he will be truly missed. I remember so many road trips to Heritage away games in the big tour bus with Randy, Harold, Monica, G.T., The Myers, Angela, and all of the crew. I will always remember renting the van along with Curtis and Rosemary, and the crew, and heading to Soddy Daisy and getting lost. But we always had fun and we always cheered on the Mountaineers. Randy was always around to help feed the football team, or get them settled into camp and he did not even have a son on the team in the past few years. All you had to do was call him and him and Harold were right there. I am praying for Tammy and the children, and I will alway remember my friend. The angels are welcoming home one of their children. We Love You Randy....
  15. No offense taken, WesVols! I just wanted to clarify that because so many people think since our name is "Mountaineers" we are just a bunch of red necks. Well, we are, but we are proud red necks!!! Actually, I guess I need to change my name to MCSCOT94MOM! But old traditions die hard and I still support the Mountaineers.
  16. The Woodshed is the small wooden building on the left just as you come through the ticket gate. It sells t-shirts, hats, etc. We've had the Woodshed for many years and it is a tradition. The marketing department at HHS makes t-shirts some years with logos about the Woodshed. Congrats to HHS on a good first game, even with the loss. I love you boys and I will miss you this year. I am spending a lot of time at Maryville College, Richie, Big Tharp and Seth are there sweating it out at football camp. Come up some Sat and watch the Fighting Scotts! GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!
  17. Look for some good things out of Matt Tharpe at Heritage.....
  18. Deep Ball, is your son Tyler Phelps? I have a really good picture from our local newswpaper with your son and mine in it, along with their names. It is a cool action shot. I would be happy to try to scan it and send it to you. PM me and I will get your email address and get you a copy. It makes me very happy to see opposing teams get along and have good attitudes and spirit. That is why I have upmost respect for Soddy, Ooltewah, Alcoa, and a couple of others. And as a matter of fact, the football boys that play for Maryville are very classy. Unfortunatly it is only a few imbicles that but a damper on Rebel Pride. Thanks for the kudos, it was a good game last year. FBE as far as I know Rewis kept Nelson, McMahan, Burchfield and Amspaugh. I met his brother a couple of days ago and I was really impressed. GO MOUNTAINEERS! Show your class!!! Special good vibes for Mr. Gillis York, Daniel Gregory, Parker Holt, Corey Pillow, Nik, Little Tharpe (brothers for life), Josh Seaney, Caleb Compton, Johathan Caughron and all of my other "boys" that I have missed. I love you all!!! Mama Dick.....
  19. Yes, let's make a pact to IGNORE RebelRaider and talk about what this post was originally intended for.... Heritage football. I am excited about the upcoming year. Coach Rewis is a class act ( no disrespect intended for Coach Corum). As has been stated before, sometimes it just takes some new blood. Good luck to HHS, WBHS, MHS and AHS in the upcoming season.
  20. That's what I'm talking about... two VERY classy, dignified and INTELLIGENT posts. Thanks, guys, Heritage has had it rough, but, as RebelRaider does not seem to understand, the boys that have played, and are going to play have feelings and heart. I am so very glad that I do not judge Maryville fans on one young kid's babbling, but unfortunately, some people do. My son has some good friends that were on 2003 team (Congratulations, Rebels) and these young men have class and dignity. So I can only assume that this young man does not play ball, or he would know better than to post such rubbish. ANYWAY... good luck to all four Blount County teams, I love them all!!!
  21. I do not know why I even dignify RebelRaider's moronic posts with a reply so I won't....
  22. AHHHH! RebelRaider strikes again... I am SO GLAD that the other Maryville fans have more class than this ..... well, this is a family board so I will not throw stones.
  23. GovMan, Are you going to the game? I think I will mosey on over there tonight and watch the Girls.
  24. We just lost Coach Corum after the 2003 season. He will make a great addition to any coaching staff. I have the upmost respect for Lane and I appreciate all he did for my son for the four years he was his coach.
  25. I did not say our win-loss record, I said our stats. No, we did not win, but we sure did out-stat several teams.
