  1. Runwild, Creek Wood is playing well right now. They came out of Fairview with a great win against a very solid team. The difference in the game IMO, was Creek Wood tackled a little better than Fairview. As far as Cheatham is concerned, they are very young this year with only 3 seniors as I understand. Coach Finley is a great coach who finds a way to get the most out of his players and talent. From what I understand, a lot of Freshmen are having to play this year. Give those kids about 5-6 weeks and they will be making the plays that will make Cheatham successful. I am sure when adjustments are made, Cheatham will be as competitive as they ALWAYS are. Good luck Cheatham.
  2. It sounds like Harpeth and Creek Wood were exchanging pleasantries last night? Friendly banter is what makes for a great rivalry. It sounds like Harpeth and Creek Wood will now have a spirited rivalry from this point on. Make the best of it and don't ruin it with harsh words.
  3. I can see your point stat, but what is the difference in a Lewis County playing a Giles County, when teams like Overton (1600 students) playing Antioch with over 2000 students who in turn plays McGavock with 2800 students. And they are Region games. Overton an d Antioch have won their fair share of games against McGavock. Also, Red Bank (980 students) played region games against Cleveland (1300 students) and Walker Valley (1500 students). I'm sure there are more examples, but everyone gets the jist of it. Anyway you slice it, it may never be really fair. Find 22 kids and play the game. Good luck to all.
  4. Nah. Just curious as to what is going to happen in Hickman County. I want someone to go in there and be given a chance to succeed. It takes TIME and for some reason in Hickman County, coaches are not given TIME to build a strong foundation, for whatever reason. Good luck to all applicants and to the school system as a whole.
  5. Dyer County has been pretty good for a few years now, I don't know why King would leave to go to East????? Even though Schrenk and NW have struggled, he has a better chance to win in Clarksville than he would at East!!! Tommy Rewis make a lot of sense: He has resigned at Heritage High School in Blount County and he was the former HC at Fairview. He started Fairview's recent run of success. I guess he wants to get back to Middle TN. But East?? Phillips could be logical since he is in the building. I am sure they will take a long, hard look at Harris' mother, excuse me, Harris himself since he is already at the Feeder school of East, Fairview, and Nashville Christian. Should be interesting. The community of East is going to have to accept the fact that they will NEVER be successful unless they leave a coach alone and let him do his/her job. Good Luck to all unfortunate souls (applicants). /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. Do do do dodo do do dodo....3 ring circus my friend. Barnum and Bailey's would not even touch this! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  7. Footballking, you're name alone tells me you were just one of the MANY studs Shrenk has had to work with the last 3 years. I beg to differ with you when you say he does not help kids get to college. I have persoanlly been to two different combines where Shrenk who had a "group" (more than 1) of kids there. HE WAS THERE WITH THEM. You are just upset that you did not get to go?
  8. footballking0303, What planet are you living on!? Northwest has NEVER had a strong program. They have only had a few winning seasons in their entire existence. Why are you putting that on Shrenk? We have scrimmaged them the last few years and I would not say: "The school has had so much talent the last three years." As a matter of fact, I think Shrenk has done as about as well as anyone could expect with the talent he has had. Maybe you should look at a higher level of the school instead of the coach. There is a reason other than one particular coach that NW has NEVER been successful over a period of time. This is just another example of how people get on here and bash coaches. I tell you what: Take about $45,000 of your own hard earned money, go to Austin Peay for the next 5 years, volunteer coach for 1 year at a local high school, go to Dollar General store and buy a $2 whistle, then apply for the NW job, then get your butt out there and take over. Get you a dose of it! Until then, quit bashing individuals who are working hard and TRYING to be successful.
  9. Actually, I think she had him in the gogoplata and then reversed that in to The Egyptian Testic...Clamp! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> At that point his rebuff or refusal to conform was futile! I just wish someone could come on here and really explain what in the blue Hades is going on at the triangle of Hwy 100 and Hwy 7. It just appears that there are a lot of similarities between them.
  10. Then why was he hired in the first place! Who hired him? If they are hired, then let them coach!
  11. Couga14, With it being a week 0 game, logically that tells me that DC was looking for an away game and CW was needing a home game? I guess that would give both teams 5 home games and 5 away games. No one really wants a 6-4 situation. If this is the correct info, someone fill us in. It should be an exciting night on August 21, 2009. My guess is that half of Dickson County will be there that night. Good luck to both teams in '09
  12. I think District 11AA will be very competitive. It's teams have not been considered great teams (with the exception to Camden the last few years). But most of these teams have had solid pasts. All these teams have had playoff experience over the years. It should be interesting.
  13. Doesn't he live in a trailer down by the river? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  14. Auburn or Washington. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. Word on the streets around these parts (Clarksville), is that McCaslin from Kenwood has been offered the job. I have heard that from more than one source. My sources may not be very reliable. Just hearsay. Anyway, they need someone in there that understands that it will be a monumental task. It can be done, but monumental challenge. Whoever gets the job, stop by Wal-Mart on your way to Cunningham and pick up a couple of backbones and give it to the MCHS administration when you get there. Good luck Indians. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. The MCHS job is going to take someone VERY, VERY energetic, someone with VERY, VERY thick skin, someone with ties to situations where athletics are an afterthought. They need to know right up front what they are in for. The administration needs to be COMPLETELY honest with their applicants and not try to blow smoke up their tails. This job is more of a nightmare and and less a fairytale. BUT.....it can be turned around in time. Good luck to whoever wants the challenge, or whoever MCHS hires. Whoever wants the job, needs to talk to Coach Ray first before accepting. Coach Ray loves MCHS and would be very honest with the applicants. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. Yale, They do have a lockerroom. It is shaped funny because the school and gym is in round pods. You cannot see one end of the lockerroom from the other. I do like the Notre Dame effect of coming up stairs to ground level leaving the lockerroom. Not a good situation with the lockerroom itself though. They do have a weight room. Same as stated above. The home side of the stadium is pretty nice. It is old, but seems to be in pretty good shape. As Vandy1 stated, the visitors side leaves a lot to be desired. The field takes an absolute beating from other orgainzations besides football. The bottom line is this: It is going to take TOTAL committment from the MCHS administration to get it turned around. I don't care if it Nick Saban, it will not happen if they do not give the coach some help in the building. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!! I do not know if it will happen. MCHS is kind of forgotten in Montgomery County in regards to football. It should not fall in the lap of Coach Ray. He did all he could in my opinion. He eliminated the kids who did not want to really be there. I'm sure the administration are fine people who represent the academia world just fine, but I have to question their desire to field outstanding athletic programs. Just an observation from a distance. Although it is a close distance. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. They forced Coach Ray out? Well.....I guess I just proved my point. "Syndrome"!!!!! Instead of helping the MCHS football program, administration just put MCHS another 3-4 years behind. Instead of getting Coach Ray help in the building, they get rid of him. Who are they going to get now? Coach Ray has been a fixture in the MCHS community his whole life. He is MCHS. If it is true, good luck to you Coach Ray. I guess MCHS just got what they deserved. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. I will chime in on this: Montgomery Central falls into the "Clarksville Syndrome" category. They get absolutely no support from administration. All the way to the top dawg in Montgomery County Schools. It has been that way forever in Montgomery County, although Clarksville High and Rossview have changed that perception here lately. Coach Ray cannot get any coaches in the building with him because they will not give him any teaching positions to work with. They do not have middle school football, just little league ball. They are forced off the game field on Thursdays because either soccer has a game or the band wants to put finishing touches on their breakout performance. That can be controlled by administration. Their practice field looks like World War II took place in a 50 by 50 yard box. They have no room to get anything done unless they want to rip up the game field even more after soccer has had their turn on the field. If Montgomery Central wants to be successful, they better get coaches in the building to watch over and recruit the hallways. Their principal and AD need to help football out by transfering teachers out of the building into middle schools and elementary schools and open up teaching slots for football. Kids are not stupid in the long run. They know when something is not run right. If it is not run right, they will not participate. With the new classification and districts, it will help Montgomery Central. BUT...if administration does not make any changes that will help football (& I do not mean coaching changes), they will continue to be in the shape they are in right now. Looking in on the outside, it looks like a band of supportive parents need to voice thier opinion (in a positive way and tone), to the administration and try to get some positive changes @ MCHS.
  20. Cheatham will not finish 6th. I will assure you of that. They are too well coached. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  21. Pie, Your prediction of district 11AA would be logical, BUT...11AA looks like it is going to be Waverly, Camden, Harpeth, Creek Wood, Stewart County, Montgomery Central, and Fairview. Cheatham County and Sycamore will be going to the district with White House, Greenbrier, Macon County, Goodpasture, and Westmoreland. Based on proximity. It is a long way for Cheatham and Sycamore to travel to Camden for a double header in baseball on a Tuesday nite. The Tennessean indicated today that the Metro schools will be pooled together along with possibly Lipscomb and CPA in Nashville district. As with most things in my life, I am probably wrong. But this is just my predicition. Tomorrow should be interesting. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  22. Steelers, I posted this on another thread also: BUT...Read today's sports section in the Tennessean (Wednesday, 11/12), and see where TSSAA is putting Cheatham County and Sycamore. That means Camden will come over to district 11AA with Waverly, Creek Wood, Harpeth, Stewart County, Montgomery Central, Fairview for a total of 7 teams. After reading the sports page, consult with your coaches and let me know if I was right. Admittingly, I am wrong most of the time, but in this case, I may be right on the money. Anyway, find out and let me know. If there is anyone who can post the link to the Tennessean article about classification in today's sports sectiion, please do. I am computer illiterate and do not know how to add links. Thanx. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. Steelers, Look in the today's (Wednesday, 11/12/08) Tennessean Sports and read the article about classification. I would include the link but I am basically computer illiterate. I am doing good just to be able to turn this dang thing on. BUT...anyway, look to see where they will place Cheatham County and Sycamore and if it is anything like I have posted on here before. I guess that means Camden will be in district 11AA so they will have 7 teams. Let me know if I am wrong. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
