  1. This is what I have been trying to tell some folks on CoachT. The bottom line is that only the TSSAA and It's board of control know what will happen Thursday. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. Steelers, Riverside will be in 1A next year, so Camden will not be with them. I am from "down by the river." New districts come out Thursday morning. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty about district 11AA. 3 teams of interest that seem to be causing a stir in the process: Camden, Cheatham County, and Sycamore. Should be interesting. Good luck to all new district 11 AA teams in their off-season conditioning programs. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  3. Steelers, That would be a very competitive region. Find out from your sources what they will do with Camden. I have a hunch they will be with Waverly in district 11AA. Let us know later in the topic. Thanx. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Congratz on a great year in football. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. fellowes, With the new classification shake-up, I would assume the new district will be the following: Cookeville, White County, Franklin County, Coffee County, Lincoln County, Cumberland County. Of course this is speculation only. This may not happen if they decide to put Coffee County in the same district as in-county rival Tullahoma. Also, this could be another factor: Cookeville and White County are on an "island" in the middle of nothing. They are going to have to travel either West or East to be in a district. At one time, Cookeville was even in a region with Chattanooga schools! No telling what will happen. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  5. Dickson County is not open. Stone is not open. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. It sounds like a "county" problem. No athletes to compete year in & year out. It is going to take time for CCHS to win. Stone Memorial opening hurt them. By the way, Stone is not winning many games either. Not many great athletes in CC. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. It looks like: Giles County, Page, Spring Hill, Marshall County, Lewis County, East, and Hickman Co. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. This will be a very good game. Coach Beaubien has got the Chargers playing really well right now. They have been putting up big points on the board. A couple of their loses can be pin pointed to single plays. They are on the upswing. Coach Counce does a great job @ DHS. Good luck to both teams. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. ksgovols, I do not think anyone is upset with you. A lot of people think that only kids from Dickson go to Creek Wood. BUT, it goes both ways. There are currently a few kids who live in the Creek Wood zone that go to either Dickson County High School or Dickson Middle School and particpate in athletics. I don't think that is a big deal, just play each other. Good luck to both the cougars and the Red Hawks the rest of the way out. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. I wish I knew half as much about everything like you think you do then I would be twice as smart as I am. Thanks so much for all your knowledge on everything about athletics. What about Tyler Guye leaving Cheatham Co. for Sycamore. What about all those player who leave William James Middle and go to Harpeth like Caleb Baker and many more. I guess thats ok.
  11. You might want to check on your classifications because MBA is a division II school not 3A. But who cares what is good for the county and the atmosphere is a whole lot better when these two teams play than when they play Columbia, Smyrna or MBA.
  12. This Dickson County vs Creekwood saga is getting interesting. I put together a small list of in-county schools who play each other even though they are in different classifications: Keep in mind, this is only a small number across the state: Alcoa 2A vs Maryville 4A, South Pitt 1A vs Marion Co 2A, Whitwell 1A vs Marion Co 2A, Gatlinburg Pittman 2A vs Pigeon Forge 3A, Covington 3A vs Munford 4A, Brighton 4A vs Covington 3A, Montgomery Central 3A vs Rossview 4A, White House 3A vs Portland 4A, Station Camp 3A vs Beech 4A, Station Camp 3A vs Hendersonville 5A, Page 3A vs Centennial 5A, Spring Hill 3A vs Columbia 5A, Fairview 2A vs Page 3A, Monterey 1A vs Upperman 2A, Smith County 2A vs Gordonsville 1A, Lawrence Co 4A vs Loretto 2A, East Robertson 2A vs Jo Byrns 1A, Rockwood 2A vs Harriman 1A, Kingston 3A vs Harriman 1A, Harpeth 2A vs Sycamore 3A, Adamsville 2A vs McNairy Co 3A, Knox Carter 3A vs Karns 5A, Gibbs 3A vs Halls 4A, Anderson Co 3A vs Clinton 4A, Carter 3A vs South Doyle 4A, Walker Valley 4A vs Bradley Co 5A, Red Bank 4A vs Soddy Daisy 5A, Red Bank 4A vs Boyd Buch 2A, Soddy Daisy 5A vs Red Bank 4A, Stratford 4A vs Pearl Cohn 3A, Hunters Lane 5A vs Stratford 4A, Hunters Lane 5A vs Whites Creek 4A, Jax Northside 4A vs Jax South Side 3A, Liberty Tech 4A vs Jax South Side 3A, Jax Central Merry 4A vs Jax South Side 3A. I'm sure there are many more, but my hands are tired. Dickson and Creekwood need to play each other in ALL sports. I pesonally think it will happen sooner than what everyone thinks. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. That's crazy! People cannot expect Covington to even compete against Tupelo, MS. They have at least 5-6 kids that are going to sign D-1 rides! Covington will be able to compete with the rest of their schedule. Coach Beau is a great coach who has had great success in his coaching career. It sounds like some people need to drive down the road to Memphis and spend thousands of dollars on an education for the next 5 years and get their teaching certificate so they can put on a whistle. That's awful! Keep your mouth shut around town and support your team. This is coming from a person who has no ties to Covington HS. It only hurts the kids when when people cannot keep from running their mouths. Good luck Chargers in your region schedule. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. TE is going to be fine. He is very banged up and sore. Tough kid. He will be back in time. I want to thank everyone who has thought of him and his father in this scary time.
  15. The Creek Wood vs Giles Co. game is @ Creek Wood this year. Mistake by many publications.
  16. Covington running a back yard offense? What football are you watching? No disrespect, but you seem to be ignorant of the game of football. We scrimmaged Covington in the Spring, and they are far from a back yard football team. They are a team that was sound on both sides of the ball. They were running power, zone, boot, and 3 step drop game, and running it WELL! What in the world makes that back yard ball. That sounds, and looks like fundamental football to me. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. Creek Wood (not on Indian's list) has an enrollment of 935. 3A at this point.

    Z Plan?

According to the Chattanooga Times, the "Z Plan" has gained some momentum lately. I noticed that TSSAA is looking into adding a 6th class for the playoffs. June 10th should be a very interesting day! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  19. If the numbers posted in TSSAA are correct, which I'm sure they are, the urban/rural split does appear as if it would make the whole state more competitive and give more rural schools an opportunity to compete for state championships, and build up more natural area rivalries among the rural schools. In the long run, the TSSAA is not going to make everyone happy with the decision they are going to make in June. It might not hurt for the TSSAA to make their decision on a 2 year basis instead of 4. That will enable them to make needed changes quicker if changes are to be made. A 4 year window can set a lot of schools back as far as competition is concerned. I think a lot of people in Tennessee are anxiously awaiting for June to get here. Sit back and observe. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  20. Vandy1, Creek Wood will not be moving up to 4A unless TSSAA changes (lowers) the numbers for reclassification. We all know that could be a possibility. I am not sure about Giles County. I think some 2A teams may make the jump to 3A to avoid some of the powerhouse teams that will be 2A. Whatever happens, it should be interesting. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Z Plan?

From what I understand, TSSAA has not met as much opposition this around about the Z Plan. I think some coaches like the idea of playing natural rivalries close to home. It makes sense to use the Z plan because of travel. In some cases, teams have to travel over 100 miles to play a region game and they do not get a dime for it. Now, if you are fortunate enough to make the playoffs, making that same 100 mile trek in the playoffs is easier because you will at least get a cut of the profits and pay your travel expenses. The Z plan will not affect as many Metropolitan areas because of the number of schools so close together: Nashville, Clarksville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Jackson. But it will positively affect teams that are on "islands" and have to travel to play region games: Henry County Traveling to Jackson and the teams on the Mississippi River, Livingston Academy traveling to Knoxville, Montgomery Central Traveling to Giles, Marshall, and Page. There are other examples, but I think everyone gets the point. There is no telling what the TSSAA is going to do. It should be interesting. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  22. Thoughts and Prayers from the Creek Wood community.
  23. Rossview did light up Creekwood in a passing league game. Everyone knows that Creekwood is run 1st, playaction pass team 2nd. I don't think I would put much stock in passing league games, although Rossview look really good & athletic. If memory serves me right, Creekwood (3A) beat Rossview (4A) on the road last year 42-14. Creekwood returns much of their offensive line that played in that game last year. Good luck to both teams in '06.
  24. Creek Wood-4 TDs, NE- 0 TDs. Northeast looked to be a very quick team with good size up front.
