  1. It's true what these people from Powell Valley say. Greenback went up to Cloudland last year, and there was some heckling, trash-talking, and overall rude things said. But um, who cares? Fans are free to express their opinions, and it's part of what makes Cloudland such a tough team to play. Thanks for the support Powell Valley, but Greenback isn't 12 - 0 for nothing. Instead of worrying about the crowd, we're going to be busy proving ourselves on the field. That's not to say fans who spit, throw things, or otherwise do things that aren't allowed shouldn't get what's coming to them, but then again, I don't recall ever being spit on, or having anything thrown at me. Just some heckling by fans. This one guy from Oneida did the same thing, but what are we to care? Greenback was too busy handing Oneida a 25 - 7 loss. --Joe Kemple [Edited by MakoRevised on 11-16-02 12:36P]
  2. Thanks. It should turn out to be a great game. --Joe Kemple
  3. No more fan poll voting for the clownboats of Powell Valley. But Greenback's still in it! WHOO! #1!! See? I told you all we were at least 8th in the state! No flukes here, ladies and men of the gentles! --Joe Kemple
  4. Yes! ...Is what I would be saying if I thought JCS was going to win. --Joe Kemple
  5. No, now, don't start putting words in my mouth. I never said anything along the lines of me being able to control the game. You know I just like to rag on you at times because... Well, I guess because Greenback beat Coalfield. Simple fact is, do you think that it is fair to reason that, if we beat Coalfield by 34, and North Greene by only 14, that Coalfield could easily lose to North Greene? An obvious answer is yes. Do you (or I) see that happening? No. Now, Coalfield has a great ball club, and if things pan out like people think they will, Coalfield should give Cloudland a great game come round 2. I'm sure the Cloudland folks know this, as well. As for Greenback, we're doing our best to keep focused, and make sure everyone is clicking come game time. --Joe Kemple
  6. It's a good thing Coalfield doesn't play them, or they would lose, right? For some reason, I don't think you'd agree. --Joe Kemple
  7. Some people have computer problems day in and day out. Normally, my computer runs fine, but today it has been acting up. I usually copy and paste what is quoted on here to Microsoft Word, so it will be easier to edit some of the things I type, if it happens to be something long. I did the same today. However, when I opened up this thread, my computer malfunctioned. It froze due to the fact that I was running too many programs at once. Ergo, I had no idea what you posted until I restarted my computer, hit reply, and decided to go through typing and editing on here. Reading it, I discovered it was a waste of time. --Joe Kemple
  8. Yeah, me too, but we'll have to see. BGA may not look impressive to you on film or something, but the fact it they've beaten all other Div 2 AA opponents rather soundly. --Joe Kemple
  9. Who else from that Div can beat them? --Joe Kemple
  10. The entire coaching staff's plan was to run it the entire time. Austin (QB) checked off into a pass, obviously not realizing the situation. 2nd team line/backs were going in the very next play. Think what you want from that, that's fine, but we respect Oneida a great deal, the same with all teams. Otherwise, great win tonight against West Greene. We jumped on them early, and had great pressure on the QB all night. Gave up a lot of points at the end to the JV, but we were up big at the half. Final score was something like 62 - 22. --Joe Kemple
  11. The game will be played on Friday.
  12. 6 - 1 is "on a few bsuted plays"? Uhh. Also, I thought pre-season scrimamges didn't mean anything? Say what you want about our schedule, but constant blowouts are not luck. 9 - 0 isn't luck. It's playing good football. --Kemple
  13. I don't think it was a case of Coalfield having trouble, just CAK improving THAT much. It's a shame they probably won't make the playoffs, because they deserve it. --Joe Kemple
  14. How would you rank them, POLL MASTAH?! --Kemple
  15. Hey, it's like this. If we play against each other, may the best team win & if Greenback pulls it out....... I'll be cheering you guys on. Hopefully if Powell Valley pulls it out, you'll cheer us on. Just give it time & Cloudland will attempt slinging their crap at you guys, as a matter of fact...... It's already began. [Edited by IndiansMom on 10-28-02 10:53P] Meh, I don't care. It's just an internet messageboard. Pujo is a nice guy, and he knows if an when he is beat. Thing is, Cloudland hasn't been beat yet. However, I say I'm in more of a position to talk about the disadvantages of Cloudland. Don't take that the wrong way. I say this mainly because Greenback hasn't played Cloudland yet, and lost (not like we will). We expect a win. Much like you guys did. Truthfully speaking, we are in a better position to get one than PV. PV has already played Cloudland, and lost. I think that's where Pujo is making his point. We look forward to playing whomever, but don't overlook Oneida, CAK, or whoever you play 1st round. Both are good teams. Good luck the rest of the way. --Joe
  16. I will be surprised if CPA loses. Their defense is as good as any you will find in 1A. Question is if they can get their offense clicking. Personally, I believe they win by 14. CPA 21, DCA 7
  17. As you have seen, 46! Not too bad! The varsity has only been scored on once, and that was in the second quarter in the Midway game. No 1st quarter points. --Joe Kemple [Edited by MakoRevised on 10-28-02 10:28P]
  18. So I assume you like Greenback? Because that's who will be playing against Cloudland in the 3rd round. Not Powell Valley. HEYOH!!! --Joe Kemple

    1a playoffs

Aren't you the same guy who was talking about how Oneida would pull the upset on Greenback? Please. I would worry about Coalfield in the 2nd round. --Kemple
  20. One team that will eventually be good is the Christian Academy of Knoxville. Aquired former Bearden coach Bill Young from retirement, I think they have a good deal of freshman starters, just got their new football field up and going, and they've only been in varsity football for two years. Started this season off rough, but have been gradually improving. With a little help, they'll make the playoffs, but it seems unlikely. --Kemple

No one was comparing Ezell to Greenback. An Ezell supporter just explained how good offenses often overshadow good defenses. As for Cloudland, we'll just have to see come playoff time. --Joe Kemple

    1a playoffs

Um, PV is either going to play Coalfield (if they lose to Jellico), or Oneida/CAK (if PV beats Jellico). Both CAK and Oneida are good teams, so good luck making it past the 1st round. your plans on making it past the 2nd (when you would have to play Greenback) are pretty much futile. --Kemple

Wrong-o Mr. Goose! Greenback is gonna take it to tha hizzouse with a 42 - 20 something win over Cloudland! Book it! I can see the headlines now... "Byrd Hunters" No, no, wait. Okay, nevermind, I can't think of anything. However! Stupidity aside, It is going to be a tough game. We here at Greenback all realize this. But we're not there yet! Gotta wait it out, play our best football during these playoffs weeks. First, we gotta get West Greene out of the way, and finish the season out 10 - 0. If we were to beat a quality West Greene team by 40 pts, that's more than what Hampton beat them by, gosh darnit! If and when Cloudland finally shows up at Cooper Field, it's gonna be a rough and tough game. The score? I dunno, but I guarantee you the team with the most points will win (Probably Greenback. You heard it here first!). HOORAH! On a more serious note, remember, folks, if you haven't already set your clocks back, do it now. You're probably going to be late for an important business meeting. --Joe Kemple

Actually, Greenback does have a balanced offense. But what shines every night is the defensive play (ranked #1 in the state in points scored). If the offense trips up, the defense is there to hold up, so to speak. --Kemple
