Congrats !! to the Rebels on another run to the Gold !! Because of retirement I missed getting to lead the buses to the big game. It was hard to watch on TV and not be on the sideline watching these fine young men working hard and celebrating the rewards of that work. Congrats also to Derek and the rest of the staff, they haven't missed a beat since George left. The players, coaches, administration, school, community, and fans have shown that Maryville is the best place to live and I am proud to call it home.

Our little ole kicker isn't to bad either. He had to kick a total of 5 (almost 6) times in 22 seconds and made them all easy. There were 2 timeouts and 3 penalties called. 5 field goal kicks and only 6 points as a reward.

But regardless how this one starts, (hopefully unlike last year,) I will never forget being on the sideline and not seeing the first Rebel giving up, always pushing each other and saying we got this!! That's why The only prediction I ever make is not a score, but on "W" on the board.

Yes, it is a normal practice, at least for me. I am lucky to have a Boss who let's me escort them to (and back) from any away play-off games, Alcoa, WB regular season, and the annual trip for the Gold. Before anybody says a waste of taxpayers money, I do it without compensation. We'll kinda, being able to support the young men that play for Maryville and show them the community is behind them is my compensation. Go Rebels !!!

Yes, remember that year. The little fellar was born on Nov 30th, the game was on the Dec. 3rd. Close call, but I believe her Doc. Was a Rebel Fan.

Webster Definition of a Scrub pertaining to this conversation "a player not belonging to the first string" I agree in "internet lanquage" or "Urban vocabulary" its not the best term. But before the "internet" we were all scrubs. With enough hard work, talent, desire and excellent coaching we could possibly become "a player on the first string". At Maryville I do not think it would be derogatory in anyway. Our "Scrubs" contributed to every game this year and without them we would not be where we are every year. JMO P.S. I'm not taking any sides on this, just supporting the Rebels every day and in every way.

Can definitely confirm that. It's rough getting the buses and all those vehicles out on Broadway every 1st Saturday in December. But I wouldn't (and haven't in to many years to count) miss leading them for anything. Heck, Maryville-Alcoa Jaycees even moved the Christmas Parade to the 2nd Saturday in December because of everybody going to the games.

It is also going to be a double header. Maryville Jr. High vs Alcoa Intermediate early ( not sure of kickoff time). Also heard all tickets are $10. Alcoa will make Bank $$$$

ND66, I tend to believe it is sometimes harder to play a team when a "Star" player is hurt. A really good team (and I don't mean just talent wise) rallies around the injury and steps it up even more. As to Maryville being loaded your right. Every year we have the "Coach", Staff, players, fans, community, dedication, tradition, "STARSNBARS" and even haters, and the list goes on.
