If you actually read the article that this whole topic is about you would have read: "The Georgia High School Association added lacrosse as a championship sport for boys and girls in 2005." So yea, "georgia was sanctioned in 2002. look it up," wouldnt eactly be the smart thing to say on this board, unless our #1 journalism source in Middle Tennessee is wrong.

I honestly dont know how you can argue against Harvey deserving to get the award last year. His team beat Little's by 7 in the playoffs...the night before little was presented with the award. And then he led his team to win the Championship. Sounds like a pretty valueable coach to me. And as for this year, Im not going to say who should get it, cause its only half-way through the season right now, and that would just be stupid to try to argue for someone when half of the big games have not happened yet. But i will say this: I garuntee you that no team in the state loves playing for their coach as much as MBA does for Harvey.

Wow. what was the game like?

Im going to go out on a limb here and say that Hayes was probably not going to go to Duke, and if he was, it seems like it would have to be a walk on kind of thing. I jsut dont see someone who has "top D-I tallent" deciding to go to a D-II school which would probably lose to some high school teams. Just a thought

honestly...this just sounds like a cocky christian bros. kid who is only concerned with his one statistic...lets just concentrate on the game at hand and not worry about some amatuer announcers who are doing the best they can.

any word on what the MUS vs McCallie game was like? who looked good?

...for some reason, I seem to remember the MBA vs McCallie regular season game in which that suspended player did play for McCallie...and MBA won the game 15-8... just a thought

Alright wow dude; idk about without a doubt best defender in the state. I dont think you have watched either MBA or MUS play yet, and im sure ravenwood will put up some good d guys too.

I dont mean to be dumping on either of those goalies, because they were definitely the best two goalies in the state this year, however i dont think that either of them are the caliber of varsity college lacrosse goalies. I have seen alot of goalies play, especiall up north and they are way above these two in skill level and definitely tecnique. You might just be asking if they are playing club anywhere, which i would not be supprised at, because im sure they will both do well playing club. Sorry i dont know the answer to your question though. Also, just want to say congradulations to both of the all state goalies this year.

Actually, about the soccer field, it was in great shape for the game. It seemed like it might have been a little bit smaller than a regulation field, but it was good, except for mabey a little bit of clumpy grass

Actually, it wasnt really that usn played well, MBA just played a very sloppy game, came out really slow, and never got going.

I agree, all the guys from lassiter were really nice and good sports when we (mba) played them too.

MBA beat farragut by something like 17-7 yesterday. Farragut isnt that bad, they have one decent attack and two good long poles but other than that they actually were pretty bad.

Ok, we played Ryan earlier this year and no one on their team really impressed me much at all, so i dont know what this is about some guy being a lock for all-state. The goalie was actually pretty good and had quite a few quality saves and stuffed a few guys, so he might be worthy of some recognition.

I definitely respect what you are saying, and i appritiate that all the D II teams are starting teams and sacrificing to grow lax in tennessee; but the one thing that i wanted to say is about scouting. Most of the College coaches and even scouts do not even come to any Tennessee lacrosse games. The time when people are scouted for college is during summer camps. So just letting you know that if anyone thinks that they want to play in college then they should be going to camps in the summer, mainly up north, in order to be scouted instead of worrying about scouts at their games in the spring.

I hear this new goalie for McCallie is pretty good; is this true, how good, and what grade is he in; cause hes got some fairly big shoes to fill with baucum gone

Im obviously not Redtwin, but im sure you could figure out that i play for MBA, and we have a very solid defense this year. Like you said, Banker and Turk are back; turk has been out for a while with an injury, but he'll be back fairly soon and im sure back to speed. The third d spot is up for grabs, but we have another very solid junior, some pretty good seniors, and a good sophmore who im sure will all get some playing time. The strength of our defense will probably depend on how hte middies play. Also, MUS's defense seems to be pretty strong especially considering that they lost most of their good players last year.
