  1. Gallatin has done a great job forcing the run to the outside and not letting the backs cut up field. GWave is dead on that our problem has been poor tackling. Seems that we have been going for the big kill and even trying to strip the ball but we are just not making the tackle. Gallatin HAS to wrap up and let the second man make the big hit. Our team speed is good...maybe not Coker good...but good. I hope the long run by Blackman's #20 on the first play from scrimmage was a wake up call for tonight.
  2. By the way, does anyone have stats on Antioch's punter. Gallatin needs to win the field position game and our punting has been inconsistent. I give Ingham the edge in place kicking. Could be a factor.
  3. What is the scoop with Kyron Malone. He dressed but did not play last week. We will need his speed and big hits in the middle on these guys. Also, Brad Jones is supposed to play. He had a Dr. appointment earlier this week but I haven't heard the results. Hall is out with a broken hand. Fisher is supposed to be back. Gallatin 23 Antioch 21
  4. GWave I am puzzled about the qb situation as well. I don't see Macfarland's importance on defense as a reason to keep him out of the offense. He is after all a soccer player as well. Conditioning CAN'T be an issue. We have had countless qb's that played both ways. I personally would love to see Macfarland, Shipley, AND Hall on the field at the same time. That would open up a few possibilities...hmmmm.
  5. 82cat Trust me when I say this...Gallatin has been playing Smyrna WAY to long to ever take a win for granted. The Dogs have given up a lot of points this year but their offensive strength is the Wave's defensive weakness. Most of the points we have given up have been on long pass plays and broken coverage. With a new defensive coach sooner or later that defense will gel and start to click. Smyrna has too much overall talent to be giving up this many points. I do look for a shoot out Fri. night with the Wave the victor with the defensive advantage. No prediction on the score...I can't count that high!
  6. Good luck to White House against the yellow jackets. Gallatin seemed to face two different teams Friday night. I believe it was Springfield's first game and it showed. At times they couldn't seem to get the right personnel on the field and were a little disorganized but the have some talent. If they could have put four quarters together it would have been a different ball game.
  7. Does anyone have an update on MacFarland's injury? It appeared to be an ankle. From my vantage point it was already taped up when the were working on him. If any currrent players are on this thread...good job last week...good luck this week.
  8. GWave I agree with your comment about conservative play calling. I think early on we had the advantage of a game under our belt. Seems that we gave up on the passing game with the quick 24 point lead. I do think it took Springfield a half to get their legs under them. We had to make an adjustment with Macfarland out. It REALLY showed on pass defense...but those young guys learned alot. See you at Glencliff. (Squoshwave...bhave & bcareful. Sorry, I couldn't help myself)
  9. Gallatin has a great group of sophomores this year. I can't say that one stands out above the others but I don't remember this many filling key positions in the starting rotation. Some to look at: Dajuan Manning J R Harper Brad Jones Rusty Fisher
  10. The thing about Brewer is that he is already on his own level but when it's crunch time he can still take it up a notch. Case in point...last years state tournament. BUT Portland by only four (home court).
  11. The GreenWave recenly played both so that is all I have to base this on but Hendersonville has to have a good game by Wicke. LaVergne is super quick and their inside guys don't score much but box out and control the boards. Where is this game being played? I will go with the home team.
  12. Coach15, that is the way I thought the rule was. I thought that another player had to touch the ball or control it but it was really strange looking when it happened. I think it was the Gallatin / Hendersonville game at Gallatin. Anyway, it was a good game.
  13. Thanks! It really looked strange the way in happened and the ref blew the play dead and awarded the ball to the team that controlled it anyway. I don't remember if both guys touched the ball or not. I'm not being critical. I just didn't know what the ruling should be.
  14. What is the official ruling on an opening tip-off as far as controlling the ball. I was recently at a game where one of the players tipping off came down with possession of the ball. It did hit the floor first if that makes any difference.
  15. This is exactly why as a Gallatin fan I think the lawsuit should continue. Now that the season is over and the fire has died down everyone just assumes Gallatin is guilty of something. I went to the Gallatin Hendersonville b-ball game and had to listen to the student section chant "CHEATERS...CHEATERS...."all night. I realize it was all in good fun and it was taken that way, in fact I rather enjoyed the bantering back and forth between student sections, BUT I am completely fed up with this attitude that the TSSAA can't be wrong because they are the TSSAA. You tell me how Gallatin can invade the privacy of a kid's broken home just to avoid a situation like this and I will agree with you. Until then, I can assure you Gallatin's coaching staff and Steve Duke asked all of the right questions and filled out all of the correct paperwork in getting this kid eligible. We were placed in a position where we could not win. As bad as even I hate to admit this, legal action on Gallatin's part is just as much a part of the system as the administration of the rules by the TSSAA. What recourse do we have?
  16. Where do I go to find info on joining. I haven't earned my stripes yet. I think I need to get gnawed on a few more times before I make it official.
  17. Sure was good to see UPN30 giving that $30,000 check to Ronnie Carter Saturday. Just endorse it over to Benny Bills and he'll see to it that it finds a good home.

Cutback, I agree 100%. The big question for Gallatin will be the progress of a phenominal freshman class coming in. Great speed, great size, and a winning attitude. I expect to see several of those guys play as soph's. I hope we throw more with Donte Hall at WR (brother of Calvin Hall that went on to Bama).

MG, I hope I'm not the guy that looks like you because GWave does have pictures. How long does it take to drive to Mexico anyway?! Gwave, Amen!

I think many of you have missed one important point. Assuming Gallatin wins the lawsuit, that means WE WERE RIGHT. I sincerely hope that any of you would fight for what you know is right. What are we supposed to do just let the tssaa run roughshod over us. Like it or not this too is part of the system. We feel we have been wronged and this is all we have. My opinion but the tssaa has a bully pulpit, they were told by a Federal judge to clean up their act, and changes need to be made. There will always be a governing body and of course a need for one. This is exacly why I am glad Gallatin is fighting this. NOW everyone just assumes Gallatin is guilty and we should just roll over and take our punishment. Again, are we saying the tssaa can't be wrong because they are the tssaa???
  23. Then why did they return the fine? Gallatin paid it to "obey a rule". Again, are you saying that the tssaa can't be wrong because they are the tssaa? Who punishes them if the "break the rules"

I would guess db. He is also an outstanding punter. He would make a good option qb though.
  25. Hold on...Time out...Some of us are getting a little irrational here. Does anybody honestly think that there will be no governing body if Gallatin wins the lawsuit? The tssaa HAS to answer to somebody. Again, what is Gallatin's or any school for that matter, what is their recourse IF they have been wronged. This "the tssaa can't be wrong because they are the tssaa" attitude is puzzling to me. Are all of you saying that they CAN'T be wrong? There will always be a need for a governing body. I just think this one has gotten too big for it's britches.
