  1. Until I am shown otherwise, I say the parents (mother and stepfather) separated then mother and son moved to Gallatin. Nothing I have heard disputes that. The question arose because the mother still owned a house in Nashville. Sounds to me like the "spin" is coming from the other side. Why did the Federal judge say he did not receive "due process" from the tssaa? He was not given an opportunity to prove where he lives. I agree that if the mother tried to fool the administration then Gallatin got caught up in the system. Why did the tssaa and mcgavock wait if all of this was known Sept. 2? Something smells here. If Gallatin had been 1-6 with the only win coming against mcgavock I promise you this would never have come up. Why did they wait?
  2. Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% behind Gallatin if an injustice has actually occurred. However, why in the world would any college quit pursuing a prospect because of an alleged eligibility infraction by one player? That makes no sense. If a college has ceased calling some players, it has to be for other reasons, wouldn't you think? If Gallatin has been wronged, it deserves retribution. The lost scholarship theory will never fly in court, though. Rollredroll, I'm with GWave on this one. I realize this is the kind of stuff rumors are based on but players have complained that since our season ended some schools, especially local ones, have shifted their attention to other players that are still in the limelight. Again, we're not talking about Nebraska, Miami, etc. but local colleges. Another thing to consider is we're dealing with teenage boys trying to plan their immediate futures so...take it for what it's worth. For chat room fodder though, no names mentioned, some of the players have complained about this.
  3. So what does a school do that has been wronged by the governing body? If the tssaa doesn't have to be held accountable what kind of system is that? Like it or not what Gallatin is doing is part of the system. What the tssaa did to Gallatin can not stand or the whole system is useless. Again my opinion, but it needs to be completely restructured. Someone else on another thread used this quote but it needs repeating..."Absolute power corrupts absolutely".
  4. GWave88, To a degree I agree with you. We need to move on and support our other teams. ALL of them. I will be at nearly every basketball game, I was at the cheerleading competition last Saturday, I go to a FEW baseball games, however, it is high time the tssaa face the inevitable. SOME DRASTIC CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE! My personal view, they need to start at the top. All of the people that said the tssaa was only following the rules need to explain something to me. Wasn't the $500.00 fine one of the rules? Why then did the tssaa send the fine back? Was that fine not a RULE? This is all in the courts now and we need to move on but what about basketball season. What if they do rule him eligible because of the sale of the house and then January 20th rule him ineligible again for parting his hair on the wrong side? Some common sense should have applied long ago. The intent of the rule should have some bearing. If I understand correctly he plays baseball too. What about baseball season. Again no one will answer my repeated question. Lets suppose for a moment that his parents (mother and stepfather) really did separate...how long do you continue to punish a kid for something 110% out of his control? We need to support our GreenWave in ALL avenues including court battles if we truly believe in them.

    Jamison Link

I'm not sure on the recruiting. The last I "heard" Louisville and Vandy were two teams looking. As far as character Jamison is top notch. Kinda reminds me of a Byron McCollum type ( former GreenWave player in late 80's ), name the sport and he excels at it. All of the players I know have nothing but high praise for him. I think his best asset is he's a REAL team leader. The team talks he gave and the way he conducted himself after Gallatin's season was taken away attest to that. I don't know what he is thinking as far as college but I wish him nothing but the best. GO GREENWAVE!!! STILL REGION 5 CHAMPS!!! Wireman
  6. You should know exactly where you stand after Shelbyville. All five starters back, whew, Gallatin has 1 or 2 starters back. I know of Batey & Gourley...... a sophmore group that was undefeated as freshmen can't hurt. Good luck this year. MJ should make a pretty good run.
  7. Who are the starters for Mt. Juliet this year? I know they were young last year so they obviously have a great group back. My Wave is going to be better this season but I think your Bears will be hard to beat in the midstate.
  8. I don't think Shipley is eligible as of yet. I don't really know what is taking place now. Everyone has clammed up since the lawsuit started. I guess that is only natural. I had a family event and missed the jamboree but my daughter said he played. I understand he opened the game with a beautiful 3 pointer. If we have to forfeit the jamboree...eh...so what. What do we do if the TSSAA does clear him to play?????
  9. Congrats Rebels. I was driving by and saw the scoreboard was 10-7 at the half and I knew you guys had a good one going. Commandos...good job all year. You overcame a shaky start and really came alive late. Franklin just keep it in the midstate. Best of luck from this Gallatin fan.
  10. I'm glad to see Brewer getting the respect due. Some have said his offense is dunking only. Trust me, he can fill it up from anywhere past the half line. In the playoffs he really turned it up a notch. I agree he will be an outstanding SEC player. May take him a year to get accustomed to the speed but he willl make Portland proud. My ONLY criticism, he seems to play to the level of the task at hand. I guess it is only natural to let up when the challenge isn't as great but since I have never come close to his level of play I'll keep admiring from the bottom of the hill.
  11. Whites Creek gets my vote. Those guys were incredible. My GreenWave hung with them for a few but man they could turn it on quick.
  12. Thanks ELA. By the way that green becomes you. GreenWave fans lets keep this on topic. The lawsuits are rolling along and all indications are the Wave has a good case. For a little GreenWave good news....our cheerleaders captured the TSSAA Small Division State Championship in Murfreesboro today. Yeah, Yeah, I know this is a football thread but we all need a boost and besides, my daughter is on the squad. GWave1 I still like that retractable roof idea after this is all over, or at least maybe padded seats. Sidebar....How did BA arrive at a figure for damages to them? Early on I called for a boycott of the playoffs but I would like to officially retract that. Keep turning out in droves......more for us later!!!!!!!
  13. Closed curcuit for Hendersonville's players Congrats on a great season. I can assure you it has been quite a while since you had this many Gallatin fans pulling for you. You guys really turned it on at crunch time and made region 5 proud. God bless. Good luck Rebs!
  14. Hendersonville / Franklin????????????/ The suspense is killing me...
  15. As a moderator I can see your frustration. I can assure you I haven't been accused of being a "kid" in quite a while. The ONLY reason I found CoachT in the first place is because of the current situation. I have been following Gallatin football for several DECADES and this whole situation stinks. I am just as frustrated on the opposite side of the spectrum. Please allow me to say this with all respect due but you do give the impression of having a bent against Gallatin. Some have dumped the entire burden of guilt on Gallatin but I can assure you that there is blame to fall on the side of the TSSAA. You have talked to coaches, well we have talked to coaches, lawyers, family members and each other. Gallatin is the victim in this. I don't want to see the opportunity for some people to vent a little taken away because of personal frustration. Someone on another thread said why not remove the offensive posts not the whole thread? On the first "Gallatin uses ineligible player" thread I was convinced you had ties to the TSSAA. I'm sure I was just caught up in the moment. Cool heads must prevail. If you don't allow "Gallatin" fans to post you only confirm the things being said. Again don't paint us all with a broad brush. If you do I guess I'll have to go back to working at work. Respectfully, wireman
  16. Calm down there...I was just askin'. I haven't been on in a few days and don't remember calling anyone Hitler. Maybe that's the part I missed. How 'bout not painting with such a broad brush though.
  17. What's going on with the Gallatin vs TSSAA posts? We at least deserve an explanation. After all, this has become our playoffs (lol).
  18. Shipley is playing. We put a wig on him and he's playing on the girls team to throw everybody off. He drew the line with shaving his legs though. He did play in the jamboree. Does that mean we really LOST....hmmm.
  19. Calm down Baylorman, just a little lighthearted humor. You guys did beat us pretty handily. You were lucky Centennial didn't do us in first.
  20. Rebelguy, Actually Gwave1 put me up to that post. GreenWave fans as well have the utmost respect for the Rebs. I miss the old days when we played you guys every year. PLEASE...GET US OUT OF THIS METRO CRAP!!!!!!!. Personally I would rather go back to playing Riverdale, Oakland and those teams instead of what we have now. I miss the Fred Lane days too. Outstanding back! In all seriousness, good luck to both teams Friday night. You should be two EVENLY matched teams. It will be another good game.
  21. Hey Hendersonville guys...If you want to beat Franklin come to Gallatin and borrow our generator. Franklin and bigdogdaddy are afraid of the dark. They beat us last year and given the opportunity they will still cry about it.
  22. Be careful!!!!!!!!!!! GreenWave fan
  23. Is the Brinkley kid that used to be in Gallatin playing for Station Camp now? I haven't seen a roster and probably don't know many of the H'ville guys anyway. Is anyone going to the jamboree at G'town Sat. night? I think the Wave is playing Portland once again. Should be a good one with all the attention Brewer is getting. Still, can't tell much from the jamborees.
  24. Pantherfan Thanks for the support. Could you be a Portland Panther? If so good luck tomorrow night. Should be quite a game.
  25. It amazes me how quick people are to condemn. Let's all suppose, just for a moment, that the kid and his mom told the truth. I know it is a stretch to believe that couples ACTUALLY separate and ACTUALLY get divorced. But if people really did that, then what. How long does a kid have to sit out because of family matters? You cannot have a system that kills a program no matter what they do. Gallatin waited for approval, sat the kid out, and got hammered for answering every question completely correctly. It was a no win situation. What if they sat the kid out all season and then he sued Gallatin for costing him a year of eligibility. My parents own 20 houses in four cities. If my parents had separated and I had to move into one of those other houses, that is really none of the tssaa's business other than to prove I actually live there. This whole mess is in the courts now and no matter how much we "speculate" none of us knows the actual truth. Just give my GreenWave the respect they deserve. The tssaa may be guilty and the kid in question may be, but Gallatin is blameless in all of this. Wait til next year to bad mouth us when were beating people unmercifully to get this bad taste out of our mouth.
