Ultimate recruiting high school Rebelron. They just lost their HC in the winter. He took the QB coach job with the St. Louis Rams. They also got 5 schools busted for violations this spring.

Clay-Chalk is better than Hoover. At least last year. Their QB is the real deal. All and I mean everyone of the 7-AAA teams would beat the owls, but none can beat the Rebels when it matters.

I like Morgan, but this was a typical east tennessee/knox county hire. Never win more than 5 games. Need to quit blaming coaches who think they can do it and start pointing the finger at the admin who have no clue about football. There is not another state in the southeast that would hire a position coach who has never called a play to be the HC at one of the biggest schools in the state.

I believe the real question is who hires these coaches you speak of to coach HS athletics. If you are asking about the best at each level then the reason why is easy. If all talent is the same and someone does their craft for more time in a day, week, year or career than they will end up better. The guy I worked with developing game plans with 5 years ago is probably better than me now. He's in the NFL doing scheme and fundamentals 24/7/365 while I'm driving around trying to find freaks. He does it more with better people so he will have a deeper knowledge than me.

Except the biggest level of football. In the last 5 years the team with the worst defense and worst rushing attack both won superbowls in different years. Look at the top 5 passing teams in the NFL every year and see if that changes your thoughts.

With these numbers he wouldn't be in the top 10 highest paid coaches in GA, Bama or Mississippi. He isn't chasing the $$.

In the 2010-11 school year his salary was $105K. If you use that google search for tennessee teachers salary and follow the teateachers.org link. Go to supplements and it will show you how each school in the state pays teachers, coaches and athletic directors.

The oldest GA ever was at UT during Kiffin's 1 year. Name is Mitch Browning. He was an OC in the Big Ten before he was fired. He was in mid to late 40s then. Currently the oline coach at Rutgers.

It was the TE job at UT in what turned out to be Fulmer's last year. GQ was not offered the job. It was offered to and accepted by Jason McMichael (current OC for TN Titans). GA pay at UT and other conference schools is not 19,500. It is $800 per month plus a camp check that will be around $5k.

Both Brentwood Academy and Valdosta HS offered north of 150K, and to the best of my recollection this was before he was made an administrator and received a significant raise. So, in effect he turned down a 100% pay increase at the time to stay at Maryville. Could he leave? Sure, but hasn't chased the $$$ yet.
