  1. fowler over rippy smells like an upset.
  2. that was a really good match to watch. Really good to see SH win that one.
  3. good point. I do not think the premise is putting the kids first though. I think the idea is that the win comes first in this tournament and they do not want to chance a wrestler getting hurt OR getting a call referee call that DQ's the wrestler for the next match. That is not kid first, that is win first.
  4. Even the coaches can do the math on a 8 point FF and still not send a wrestler out when the match is in the bag. The strategy will be the same the math will just be different.
  5. someone needs to gloat .......
  6. i wonder that too, but if the past is an indicator, no.
  7. I really thought that after they said he barely got beat by bowers and that they really weighed the same , that he was no longer a Freshman either.
  8. this kind of sounds like "he got caught on his back" had more to do with the guy who got pinned than the guy who did the pinning.
  9. our man OW may not surface for some time. He knew he was fighting windmills but he continued anyway to beat a drum that only he could hear.
  10. here is the write up on the match. http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/sports/preps/story/2017/jan/20/shock-and-awe-bradley-wrestlers-bedown-sixth-/408505/
  11. there went the effort question.
  12. I do not think that is what he meant, he said he did not believe they would give 100 percent. Nothing about strategy. You are right that it does not have an impact on the seeding, i agree there.
  13. i just wonder how you dial back your effort on the mat. No one lays down for another competitor, that is all I am saying.
  14. ^^^^^^^ I doubt that will happen. unless you mean typical starters are not on the mat.
  15. it may be that Cleveland makes a team have a bad night, they are pretty good.
  16. sounds like a great night. I am anxious to see the results of the next match.
  17. Nice work by the Science Hill. Studs of the East.
  18. TJ Hick (113) loses to the Bowers and is ranked 2nd now. makes sense to me. McElhaney (132) beats Landers and does not replace him as the number one ranked. what gives?
  19. actually, cobra, the polls always state that "some consideration to individual tournaments". otherwise I agree with your entire post. from a recent poll posting: Now in its 25th year, The Poll is primarily a measure of dual meet strength with some consideration to individual tournament strength. Votes are cast by a state-wide panel of high school wrestling coaches and are based on a maximum Power Ranking of 100%.
  20. thanks coach, my point was to show that the spread between any in the top four was not the measuring stick. Your team clearly belonged and performed all year long. congrats on your efforts and future success.
  21. maybe the cleveland coach can jump in, but if they believe they are at least a number two team in the state, and I bet they are set on the premise that they are really number one in the state, they will be on the opposite side of the bracket of Bradley. And they would already be separated and thus no need to put their guys on the mat at all. I think they would be separated based on coming from the same region. Same for Bradley. they would have wrestled twice already this year and potentially a third time should they get to the duals championship. Anyway, it will be fun to see and I look forward to seeing how it all wrestles out.
  22. they may see each other two more time, but if history is an indicator, they will not wrestle in the regions if they both end up in the championship match.
  23. interestingly enough, if you look at the finals of the dual state championship just a few years ago, you will see the difference between Cleveland's team and the Wilson Central team. the score was something in the 70's to like 3. Naive? that is some separation there. I had to look it up on TSSAA.org, the final was 78-4.
