  1. Grace got outcoached in the A championship game. UC absolutely could not match up with McMasters, yet they did not post him up or even run any offense through him at all. Grace's entire offenseive game plan was give the ball to Eldridge and get out of his way while he takes a HORRIBLE shot right in some guys face. He is a good player, but if he learned how to run his offense "through" the rest of the team to set up his shots he could be a VERY good player. A shame because Grace was probably the better team.
  2. Stupid second graders just wasted two minutes of life reading the last two pages of this thread!
  3. I just wasnt sure if you were going to do a write-up on your showcase? Juse curious...
  4. He said they played in some out of state tourneys. Perhaps he was speaking in terms of the classification of the out of state teams they played.
  5. This is a great 1st round matchup. Waynce Co. will probably take this one because of their play in the paint. Clay can't match-up with both Doyle and Hammonds. And, I think Wayne Co. guards are athletic enough to control the guard play of Clay Co. Close game though...coin flip pretty much.
  6. I have no idea how many years he has in the State system, so I'm not saying he doesn't have enough to retire with his 30 years in. But, just wanted to point out that his last five years at BA do no count towards those 30 years. BA is a private school and does not count towards the 30 years to retire from the State school system.
  7. East Rob doesn't have to stop a 6'10 Grace player under the basket. Apparently you haven't seen Grace play much. The 6'10 kid is very soft and plays almost the entire game on the perimeter. He is a SF.
  8. I have not seen him play. But, his stats and his career have been great. His height doesn't seem to be a problem if he is a guard. So, the people that have seen him play a lot what are the limitations that are keeping him from recieving more scholly offers? Athleticism? Ball handling?
  9. Think you left off a little team named Mitchell...
  10. The only think I agree with in there is that Cascade will certainly be stong next year. Still think they will have some limitations and by no means will they run away with the district.
  11. Temple Wayne County Middleton Cloudland Grace East Robinson Humbolt Cosby
  12. I see that CA won, even though rep laughed at my post when I picked them to beat Mt. Pleasant. Even specifically noted that my picking CA to win that game and their next round game is what he was laughing at. I see these two games as being very similar to Region 5 Semis...two very good games with four good teams. I think you could flip a coin in all four games in Region 5 and 6.
  13. I dont say this to be mean, but my predicition is that if you are a Nashville Christian fan then you need to bring as many lucky 4-leaf clovers to the game as you can. Van Buren is going to be a very tuff match-up.
  14. Oh..now I am an idiot. Name calling is very mature. Well, I just watched the 4th Quarter of the Culleoka/CA District Championship game. I had not seen Culleoka play this season until now. Let me just say that if Culleoka is the second best single A school in the state then I am Rick Majerus and I weight 350 pounds! Wow, I stick by my prediction that Culleoka will not get to the Region Championship game. If I knew anything about Perry Co. I might pick them over Culleoka in opening round, but I know nothing about Perry Co. team. Culleoka is very overrated. CA should have won that game, they missed several gimmie shots in transition in that 4th Quarter plus they were down 4 with 2:00 minutes to go and ran a stall offense for about 30 seconds. What was that?
  15. How do those picks make you laugh? Are you telling me you are so overconfident and dillusional that you do not think Wayne Co. is good enough to beat Culleoka? Wayne Co. is a very good team that made a good run last year and return experience from a successful post-season run. Culleoka has none of that. Culleoka does not have a player on the team that has experience in the type of game you will be playing againt Wayne Co. That was my reasoning on picking that game. I think it should be a great game between two very good teams.
  16. 9 APG...lol. I would bet my deed that is quite an inflated stat. Not saying he is not a good passer. Don't throw a hissy fit rep. In four 8 minute quarters 6 APG is a great total. To average 9...thats inflated.
  17. I'll pick Lake Co. to win that Region and then beat Middle College in the substate game. Then Humboldt will go to Middleton for substate and get beat. So, of the teams you listed I pick Lake Co. and Middleton to make it to the boro.
  18. Well....Lake Co. and Union City play in the semis of the Region and the loser goes home. Then whoever wins that game will play Humboldt in the Region Championship game. The loser of that game will travel to the winner of the Middleton/Middle College Region Championship game. Therefore of all those teams you listed only two can make it to the State Tournament. That is not to say they can't win it, just letting you know the way the brackets play out.
  19. Culleoka over Perry Co Wayne Co over Santa Fe Summertown over Huntland CA over Mt. Pleasant then... Wayne Co. over Culleoka CA over Summertown then... Wayne Co. over CA
  20. He is a great player. But, he has horrible timing. There is no way he should have been nominated OVER Chism, Kemp, or Young. Those are 3 of the top 4 players in the state...regardless of classification. What is backwards is that he would have probably gotten a nomination if he would have been in AAA. Normally that would work the other way around.
  21. Weddle, Skogen, Williams I caught flack for suggesting that Skogen would get the nomination based on his name. And guess what, he got one. Williams is a little early for a nomination like this. I just don't think he deserves this nomination THIS YEAR. I doesn't much matter though, because this is alraedy locked up for Weddle.
  22. All I hear when these West TN people talk now is...blah blah blah! Come on the same tired posts over and over again. Get over yourselves. West TN A basketball is very strong, but by no means is it as overblown as they make it. They strongly underestimate the rest of the states A schools.
  23. A number of worthy candidates: C. Shankle, FHS Plemons, VB J. Smith, VB D. Shanks, EHS A. Alldaffer, EHS
  24. My only comments to someone holding a ballot are this: 1.) Do NOT let the fact that Willie Kemp and Wayne Chism play on the same team split votes. If they are 2 of the top 3 players in the state then they should both be recognized as such. It is not fair to the kids to chose in any other manner. Beau Brown is a great player, and no doubt will get some extra votes from the East Tennessee voters and those who chose to penalize Kemp and Chism for playing on the same team. Don't be one of those people. I know that you wouldn't argue that Beau Brown is a better basketball player than either Kemp or Chism, so do not vote him above them. Ask yourself this, if Chism still played in Jackson is there any doubt that he would be one of the three nominees? Thad Young, Willie Kemp, and Wayne Chism are hands down the three best AA players in the state. That is not to take anything away from Beau Brown or Brandon Evans. 2.) Please give some respect to Hamilton and Jeremy Williams. They are the best "team" in the state and he is there best player. It says something about the type of player he is if he can plug in and be a piece of a great "team" so he deserves a nomination.
