  1. I've heard it's been offered to the coach at Karns. I believe his name is John Rice.
  2. Congrats Kees! Now, who in the world is going to pitch tomorrow?
  3. Cody did not bat against DB and is not expected to be release to bat during the state tourney. And he is still going to be a Razorback as far as I know.
  4. South-Doyle won 7-3. Has anyone heard a score on the South-Doyle Farragut rematch tonight?
  5. ryan holland is one of the greatest pitchers you'll ever go up against. you all are leaving him out of a lot of these top fives. he throws straight gas. oh, by the way...chad bell is gay.
  6. Orlando Lightfoot from South-Doyle The name fits; he's pretty fast. When he's not out for the season with an injury.
  7. Numerouno, I'm not talking about language. I'm talking about...other things...that would probably be edited out later if I posted them so I won't. Just know that I would not want my child around Swafford.
  8. I don't know who the player is, but I can tell you there are kids who wouldn't play for Swafford because of his, umm, character. And there are plenty more parents who wouldn't let their boys play for Swafford. Let's just say he wasn't the best role model. And speaking of role models, Erik, I'm glad you and Jon are here for our boys. But you are CRAZY to be on Coach T!
  9. Duncan was all set to return to Powell, thought it was a done deal, but then Rick Walker (principal) told Dr. Lindsay (superintendent) he wanted Daryl Chandler back from Karns if he took Clark to Powell. Lindsay apparently wasn't ready to have another fruitbasket turnover summer so he left Duncan at S-D.
  10. Hello, CrazyKee05. It's been awhile since I've been on the boards, so I just wanted to say welcome, and nice name. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, you know. OK, I am teasing you; seriously it is good to have another SD fan on the boards. See you in the gym.
  11. Congrats, Logan. Thanks for representing SD so well; I am proud!
  12. How about those Kees??? I am so happy for the players, coaches, and fans!
  13. I really don't know what the answer is. New coaches, new uniforms, and I think they even redid the fieldhouse. The whole program has been overhauled, and yet here we sit, on our way to another winless season. I think besides the difficult schedule, the biggest problem is confidence. These players just aren't used to winning. I'm afraid we may have to wait another year to see any payoff for the coaching changes.
  14. The McMinn County broadcast is always a good one with Johnny Coffman at the mike. I believe he does basketball too.
  15. 7bearock, or should I say kcoraeb7? If you are going to have two Coach T names, that's fine with me. I'm sure plenty of other people do too. But at least pick something a little less obvious. And as long as he's competent, I'll take an AD with a year-round tan anytime.
  16. Do you really think Campbell County is SD's only chance for a win? What about Bearden? I can't stand to think about another 0-10 season.
  17. I'm glad WesVols is feeling optimistic; I'm still getting over that beating by Halls. I will be really surprised if SD ends the losing streak on the road, but I am hoping for the best. These players and coaches need a break.
  18. You're welcome. Really, it was no problem.
  19. I am surprised to hear that SD players would pine for Swafford. I have not heard his name mentioned by a player this season, and I hear quite a bit... This loss, or at least the magnitude of it, took me by surprise. I felt sure that after SD's decent showing at Science Hill that this game would at least be close. I'm afraid it may be another long season in South Knoxville if we don't see a win Friday night. After that, our next big hope is Bearden.
  20. It is sad when you can't even get anyone to post about your team's game. I think this is one of SD's best chances for a win this season. The guys are upbeat and optimistic after being competitive last week at Science Hill. If we don't win Friday, I'm afraid the team may have visions of last year's 0-10 season and get discouraged.
  21. I can't speak for every South-Doyle fan, but I am encouraged by the direction the program is headed. It may not be a real pretty season for us, but things are improving, and I know we are in a better situation than we were last year. AD Clark Duncan is committed to building a solid program and he has allowed Hutchins to basically overhaul the staff. Even the field house has been improved. Morale among the players seems good, and I believe we may get our first win in a long, long time this Friday night.
  22. SD has a tough schedule, and Halls is probably one of its best shots at a win. Playing at home should help; the Kees have a rowdy student section. I think this game could make or break SD this year. The team has been playing much better, and even scored 25 points against Science-Hill. We barely scored 25 points all last season. Despite two losses, players are upbeat because they see improvement. A third loss may bring back the memories of last year's 0-10 debacle.
  23. I can't offer any insight into Soddy-Daisy football, but I just wanted to let you know you might want to be more specific when you title your posts. Here in Knoxville, SD is South-Doyle.
  24. SD needs Swafford back like I need another hole in the head. I don't think SD will win that many games this year, but I know we are better off with Hutchins than with Swaff. I'm not just talking about wins, I'm talking about class and sportsmanship. I'm looking forward to a season with a coach who has respect for the game, for other coaches, for the fans, and for his players.
  25. Knoxville baseball never looked so good. Congrats to both teams for making it this far. I agree with FB---you gotta root for Halls---I love a good underdog story, and Farragut has had their share of glory. Hopefully my boys at South-Doyle can feel a little better knowing the team that cost them a trip to sub-state and the team they lost the district championship to are now playing each other for the state title. At least the kees were knocked out by quality teams.
