  1. What the heck is "rocket surgery?"
  2. How is that possible? They had to win at least one game, didn't they?
  3. I'd say the QB from Central will be the top player locally. This kid's the real deal, Holyfield. RB-wise, I'm not sure who will step to the front of the pack. Line-wise, I'd say take your pick from anywhere along Powell's front on either side of the ball. As for the Blunt Co. teams dominating Knox, sneaky I don't even think it's true for mariville. If they would have played either AE or Fulton during the regular season last year, they would have found out what big-time football is all about.
  4. Are you telling me that you can go and play at maryville and not live in that zone? Is that totally fair?
  5. I've always liked a lineup that used 2 tight ends.
  6. Right on, brother! I'm just glad they got rid of the idiots they had on the coaching staff. A buddy of mine knew some of their former coaches and he said they couldn't have coached my sons peewee teams. Morons.
  7. Which coaches are on staff with Coach Shattuck? Did he clean house or keep all the former assistant coaches at Clinton?
  8. These arguments seem a little petty to me. When are you guys going to start talking about who's dad can beat up who? Word on the street is that Powell is loading up and may be the team to beat in 3-4A this year. Central may not be able to play at the levels they have for the past 5 years. Truth is, it's way to early to tell at this point. Teams can change dramatically from spring to fall. The key will be who puts the time in this summer in the weight room. BTW, coachjunkie you're a poor imitation of the goat. Please change your avatar before you drag the good name down any farther.
  9. Who's coaching Fulton's girls this year? Haven't they had like 3 coaches in as many years, similar to Whittles?
  10. "going to feel your wrath?" You're taking yourself a little too serious there aren't you ronnie? As far as I'm concerned, all the users you mentioned are first-ballot guys for the CoachT Posters Hall of Fame.
  11. I do to. Maryville always provides a good tune-up for the roadrunners.
  12. cartman, I've been called many things on here, especially by the mareville sheep, but "very intelligent" is a new one for me. That being said, from what I understand Shultz or Shattuck will get the job. Dutch Shultz played there in the 80's and coached there briefly before moving to greener pastures in the peach state. Shattuck is currently an assistant at OR and that's all I know about him. My money would be on Shultz, but I've been wrong before ( like when I thought mareville would actually give Mo. West a game ). I don't know about Catlett. IMO, he's still a good, young coach who just happened to walk into a no-win situation. I guess it just depends on whether he wants to stay in football or look elsewhere. BTW, where's Bill Morgan been?
  13. dil, I can't speak specifically about that carter situation because I don't even know where the place is located. I did have a friend who had a friend who had a kid that played out there and he laid the blame for that infamous streak on the fact that the weightroom/RB coach/DB coach/trainer/bus driver didn't want to do anything but wrestle. I can't imagine that. river, I agree about the fence huggers being pretty knowledgeable. I hang out with a few at every Clinton home game and we always make the right calls in the game. We also let the coaches have it anytime they happen to walk by. Man, I love Fridays in Clinton.
  14. That's a good question, riverrider. I don't know these guys but I'd bet they are professional critics. Probably a couple of dudes who do nothing but chew lancaster and hang out on the fence on Friday nights.
  15. Please lock this crap up...it has absolutely nothing to do with football. You guys exchange phone numbers or get a room.
  16. Good point rebelron. My hat is tipped to both Fulton and Mo. West, the only teams in E. Tennessee to represent this year. You are forgetting a couple of key differences between fulton and mariville - People who support Fulton also have a life outside of high school football and Fulton won the state championship with kids who were in the Fulton school zone.
  17. Is Swafford actually getting an interview? I would think his reputation would precede him anywhere in this area. Although it would make for good reality television to see his tenure of about 2 weeks at Clinton if he was hired.
  18. Did Shultz not coach with Gaylor and Catlett as a line coach? Did he not serve as a coordinator in Georgia, the mecca of high school football? Based on "insiderz" with the situation, he has a good relationship with his players and would make a good head coach if, and that's a big IF, he surrounded himself with the right people. Based on what I saw, Catlett's undoing was in surrounding himself with a bunch of idiots that couldn't have coached themselves out of a wet paper bag. I'm sure glad they all finally received their YFF forms.
  19. McKamey is obviously the most qualified for the job. Plus, he probably has a little more experience in working the political end of things in the metropolis of Clinton than the others mentioned.
  20. Central will finish 1st or 2nd if they remain status-quo. What other teams in 3-4A are going to step up and challenge for the top 2 spots? I don't see it happening. Congratulations to Fulton for putting a good ole Tennessee Dog Whoopin on their opponent in the 3A championship game. I haven't seen a mud-hole stomping of that proportion since my trojans in upper West Morristown walked one dry on maryville. Beautiful...can't wait til next year.
  21. That's an awesome pic, junkie. It brings tears to one's eyes. Ronnie gets his information from a book that's available at many maryville bookstores. I think the title is "How to make excuses for your football program."
  22. Well said, cochese. By the way, I think either of those teams could beat maryville.
  23. Have my IP banned for what, kangapoop? If the best you can do is debate someone's spelling skills on here, then maybe you need to put your headset on and get back to asking if they want to supersize their order, chief!
  24. Thanks for the spell check kangaroo. I've got a few other words of the four-lettered variety for you that maybe you could come over and take a look at.
  25. rebelyawn, I am honored to be mentioned in the same sentence as those legends you mention. I only hope I could hold a candle to their truth and logic on here. As an avid reader of Coacht, it does please me to see such users as znagglepus, coachtujunkie, and cochese carrying on the work that billygoat started long ago. By the way, I'm currently at the "burro" and there's some dude outside the stadium selling some Morristown West State Championship T-shirts. You guys want me to bring some back to K-town?
