twan, as far as poundings go id say we've both delivered a few to the other. but in the last 8 meetings of carthage v. westmoreland. we're up 5-3. i do remember one horrible pounding around 94-95 that we gave you and i think you gave us one a few years earlier. hey catalyst remember this line? TOUCHDOWN WESTMORELAND! Brown now has 250 yards, and 3 TD's at half time!lol. i bet twan does. anyway guys, yeah SC prolly wins the region. and whatever moron said westmoreland wins it easily is smoking crack. i dont know, they may very well win it but they will have to earn it. as will any team in the region.including carthage. and by the way, to the coacht goer's of carthage. please dont turn into MC, TC, and ant those ppl(i know we have some too). i get tired of hearing the trash talk before the game is played. nobody cares if you think your sack is bigger than somebody elses. all that matters is friday nights.if you want to post stats and poke fun at one another thats great. if you want to talk trash about how you won last night, go ahead if they deserve it. but dont be ignorant about it. talk about your kids and brag on them, they deserve it they are the ones putting it on the line and working in the heat. seasons almost a month away and im getting chills just thinking about the lights.

i have to agree with you SC will probably win the region. but i think all three games between SC, WHS, and York will be close. i wish westmoreland played SC earlier in the season. i think they would have a better chance then(unless SC has injuries later) of sneaking up on the them in a week two or week three game. good luck to all.

sporty its not role its row. and you may very well get to the championship game against FC but it itll be a short game. you played close earlier which is an accomplishment but its tournament time now and they wont be screwing around anymore. you defenitely have a chance to get their cause westmoreland isnt playing well. and they are in a bit of a pinch with pitching. now facing elimination they gotta figure out who to throw against watertown. but you can go ahead and right off beating FC, aint gonna happen. if davy keaps his kids focused and his pitchers can hold westmoreland to less than 5 runs your prolly gonna go to region, and possilby substate cause region 7 aint much from what i hear. but it wont be easy. hope westmoreland beats watertown, cause ill be home to whs and TC go at it again. good luck to all. and congratulations on the school record for wins.

sounds to me like the coach was sticking up for his players on what he thought was a bad call. i dont know who was right or wrong nor do i care, arguing with umps is part of the game. possibly it was taken to far which it often is but its part of the game people. if you dont like it dont go to the games.

trousdale and whs play this week so i think we'll get an answer pretty soon.from what i hear TC ace has arm trouble. whs played poorly today against FC and got beat pretty bad. no doubt it'll be close TC always plays them tough atleast 1-2 a year because Davy gets his boys to believe they can win. but really it doesnt matter what happens in the season its about the tournament.either way it'll be TC and whs in a first round match up.if you loose that one you go home cause you got friendship next.good luck to all.

playa ive only got to see them once and the team they played wasnt very good so your probably right about the defense although im sure it is still being pushed by the coaches. they're not as athletic or intense as in years passed.got some older kids playing but some of them havent had much experience.

ballplaya you left out the most important ingredient to a westmoreland win DEFENSE.i hope you are mearly a fan, coach graves would be highly dissapointed to know a player that came through his program didnt want to play DEFENSE.

i watched fulton friday night and for some reason they didnt impress me much. i know the ended up winning big but it was 7-6 at half. against a team that they were way more athletic than.the speed was impressive but it seamed like if you stop the deep ball they had no offense they werent running it at all against smith. saw greenbrier against white house and in preseason. the white house game was not impressive at all but white house had a great team.greenbrier has a good defense much like smith co. and a great running back in herndon. i would like to say greenbrier is the better team. but i think the fact that fulton has been there before could make all the difference in the world. these two teams look to be very differnt in their approach to me. so im not even gonna try to predict a score. but can somebody tell me why smith co. didnt throw deep/middle on fulton? the safety was in the linebackers back pocket.they scored off it once and never went back to it,why?

if he wants the ball he better go with spurrier. shotgun and five wide is the easiest way for him to get on the field.personally i dont care for him. so go to UT so my hatred can grow for both of you.

ok hello! when this region used to be together how many region titles did SC win?thats what i thought. and well yeah york prolly was better than westmoreland this year. most teams were. but things are gonna go back to the way they used to be. SC cant stay on top forever(more than 1 or 2 seasons). and its not like youve been playing outstanding teams. all the teams in your region were down the past couple of years, accept for you. no offense to the other teams in the region but they havent been at the level they used to be. portland, trousdale,etc. ill admitt you probably will beat us next season cause we are still very young. but the talent pool comes in waves for everybody accept the private schools. im glad to see this rivalry back together itll be much more interesting. good luck friday night ill be watching.

theyve got enough talent to win more games than they have been but not enough to finish above midway in the pack. i think discipline is the main problem and they dont seem commited to me.which goes back to coaching. just an opinion.

you people act surprised that goodpasture is being like that. they have been that way for years. i hope tyner beats the crap out of them. i have no real respect for either team. however i hate goodpasture witha passion.im not sure if tyner can pull if off cause they were phenomenial last year and got beat by lipscomb. hope they do but i guess we'll have to wait and find out.

i think its gonna come down to who misses the PAT.

i talked to his brother last night. said it was a really bad concusion and a really bad stinger. he was supposed to come home today.

if tyner is anything like they were last year. you could but the best players on station camp, east robertson and westmoreland and they still would get ripped. i say tyner by as many as 48 minutes will allow

voldog you are correct in everything you said.what are the scenarios for that playoffs concering these two teams? i know westmoreland almost has to win to get in could a loss by east drop them to a tie or something?( i dont know region records) im making a special trip home from school to see this game on friday. i hope it turns out to be a great game much like the past three years.01' score 7-6 westmoreland.ER returns opinging kick off for a touchdown. w'land blocks pat and doesnt give up another score in the game to get the W.02' w'land squeaks by again.dont remember the score to this game. but it was a great defensive game. then last year w'land comes back from 21-3 at the half kicks a game winning field goal in OT to make the playoffs. it's turned out to be quite a rivalry.cant wait to see those lights again.

we ran a wingt when i played and no your not going to score 35 points a game especially against good teams.(21 points should be enough to win any game) but the wingt isnt an offense for a highly talented football team. the wingt is kinda the offense for teams without a lot of talent and kids that just play hard. which is why a lot of teams around here run it.yes you need a good defense to run the wingt but hello you need a good defense to run any offense. if your defense never stops the other team i dont care if you put 15 people on offense your not going to win. obviously the more talent a team has the more effective they will run the wingt such as hillsboro. and coaching is the other part of the wingt like any offense but with the wingt those little things make the offense click.if you run an I all you do is hand it off and bull your way up field. in a wingt you run lots of reverse, jet, and some other plays that involve a lot timing.that have lots of guards pulling and tackles getting down field. the best idea is dont rely completely on the wingt unless you have great athletes. my senior year we put in a shotgun formation and it gave other teams fits.we ran basically the same runing plays out of it just seeing us in shotgun threw them off more than anything.and we could throw the ball to. we had 2 good receivers and and some running backs that we could throw to as well. two keys to running the wingt:have two studs at guard and have running backs that can see the hole before it open up.

if they turn him into a tight end he'll never make it. he doesnt have the mentallity or toughness to play it.

i dont think there is much to say about this game. it was gonna be a tough game to begin with and westmorelands fullback/nose guard just tore his acl friday night. i hate to say it but the next few weeks could be tough for the eagles. but they will play hard as they always do and still have a chance. their season could come down to that final game with east robertson like it did last year if they beat houston co. and we all know lipscomb will play goodpasture in the second round. what else is new.

ill agree with defensive end being a tough position to play. i played a 9 technique and the hardest thing to do is take on a FB or guard that has a running start while all you get to do is squat and stay on the line, not give any ground, and plug the inside gap while looking for a qb thats trying to get outside you.basically every rule your given for DE contradicts another one.but id give my right arm for one more start at DE.

so what i see from johnjohn post is that goodpasture or lipscomb has been to the state championship 8 of the last 10 years.and won it 5 of those 8 times. isnt it amazing that they can have those type of athletes son consistantly. i usually pull for the public school teams in the east come playoff time, mostly cause those are the teams ive grown up watching and playing. but last year i loved watching huntingdon handle lipscomb.and while i didnt like the fact that lipscomb played up to their potential it was good to see a public shool gettin it done.hope we see a public vs. public this year.
