  1. He didn't play in another one. He was gone to AR.
  2. I don't think anyone else was missing. Epperson doesn't have to play for Humboldt to win. They showed that in the 17 pt win over Lake Co. Cordero Wade didn't play a whole lot, Tevin Crayton didn't play but the first quarter and a half. Lots of underclassmen played the 2nd half. Humboldt didn't ever get in the flow of the game and their shooting percentage was horrible.
  3. Humboldt will have 7 Seniors on next year's team. Plenty of big men that can play along with a few solid guards that can shoot the ball! They will be 10 deep.
  4. ksgovols, It sounds like to me that you had some type bad expierence with one of your coaches.
  5. The tssaa has made it to where kids can't be coached/taught(not just in basketball but in life). The kids here need a role model, and their coach is the only one they have in many situations. When tssaa limits these kids communication with their coach(es), it removes their role model for that period of time. This can potentially be very detrimental to the decisions that child makes. Many of the kids don't have the best home lives, and the coach(es) are able to help the kids out and make a difference in the things they do and the decisions they make. They are not just coached in basketball, but in decisions they make that can/will change their lives!
  6. It is better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.
  7. Demetrius Tyler from Trenton was good.
  8. I'll go out on a limb and say Humboldt gets a big district win tonight!!!
  9. Somebody threw Tevin Crayton an alley oop the other day and he hit his elbow on the rim. Some of the things he does is unbelievable. He can jump out of the gym, just a little timid to take it to the goal. Maybe that will stop the timid stuff.
  10. Humboldt's been the only team to beat Union City in their last 34 games?
  11. Humboldt beat Lake Co by 17 at Lake Co.
  12. This was a very sloppy game on both sides with lots of turnovers. MJ had 4 turnovers the first quarter, which is out of character for him. UC never did get in sync offensively. They had a couple of opportunities in the first half to extend their lead, maybe out of reach, but never could capitalize. Lake Co didnt have an answer for Andre Coby the first half. Lake Co played hard defensively but had too many turnovers in the backcourt. Three turnovers in a row to start the second quarter and three in a row in the third quarter with the ball never getting past half court. The refs weren't good for either side. It was worth the $4.
  13. All Geanes had to do was hit one free throw. MJ took the ball out on the last play of the game and UC needed a 3. Lake Co should've known he was going to the corner.
  14. McMasters had 8 points. The kid that had 25 in the 1st half put on a clinic.
  15. Weddle had I think 46 against us in the Region Championship when he was a Senior. Humboldt won 86-83.
  16. Any update on Tony Wilkins. He's a good player, hopefully he will be back soon.
  17. Thanks P&G. It's nice to finally see Humboldt get some respect from someone on here. Humboldt's 5 seniors have been to state every year since they've been in high school. No one believed we would do anything 3 years ago in AA when we beat Liberty by almost 20 in the District Tourmament, then were underdogs against Lexington in the Region and beat them. Then had to travel to Giles Co for Sub-State. Everyone said Giles Co and Tyler Smith would blow us out of the gym, especially since it was at Giles Co. We beat them by 7 and lost to Raleigh Egypt in the first round of State. The next year we dropped to 1A - should have been in the State Championship game with yall. Blew Cosby(#1 AP Poll) out first round and had our usual meltdown in the Final Four. We beat UC 3 out of 4 times that year and yall won State /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Preseason last year some people picked Humboldt as low as 4th or 5th in the District because of losing Toylon Smith and Kelsey Rose. They said our guards would be weak. Went to State again and beat Wartburg bad. Then we had another meltdown against Temple in the 2nd quarter. We beat them every quarter but the 2nd. They outscored us 25 to 5 that quarter and we lost by 2. Humboldt has had their share of bad games and disappointments the last three years (usually at the worst time), but it's nice to see someone notice that Humboldt usually steps up at Tournament time.
  18. Last year Courtney Norman from Humboldt fell and hit the back of her head. The trainer there said she needed to go to the hospital. She was put back into the game and the same thing happened again - she had to be rushed to the ER with a concussion. Then Nakendra Pack ran into a girl and twisted her neck. She had to be airlifted from Dresden High School. The refs couldn't help any of these incidents, but those three Friday night were about the worse three I've seen the past few years!
  19. You're saying that if Tyson Wright played hard all the time he could be a Mr. Basketball?
  20. Humboldt has 6 Juniors that will be Seniors next year. Charles Taylor 6'6 (19 on Haywood, 17 on UC), Tevin Crayton 6'4 (21 on Lake Co and 19 in a game), DeAndre Perry 6'3 post that started some last year but has not been healthy this year, Jarvis Porter 6'2 can jump out of the gym, Rashad Wade and a new guard that will suprise everyone next year. Everyone one of these kids can play and 4 of them have been starters at one time or another, and they all get a lot of playing time. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  21. Channin Geanes finished the game with only 1 foul and Russel had 2. Humboldt held Geanes to 10 points and only 3 field goals. Avery had 31, he can shoot the ball! Epperson didn't play for Humboldt. Tevin Crayton stepped up in his place and had 21 points, Raymond Parham had 14, Hunt chipped in 7, and Cordero Wade had 22. Humboldt led by around 10 points for most of the 4th quarter and outscored Lake Co 44-22 in the second half.
  22. You WILL have you hands full with that Union City game.
  23. Humboldt's girls have beaten Greenfield and blew out Union City. They lost games to Trenton and Gleason that they should've won. We've already won as many games this year as we did the past two years combined!!! Very very athletic!
