as of right now nobody knows who the number 1 go-to pitcher is for the owls. i think you could pick from about 4 guys. and thats a good problem to have. yesterday kyler burke pitched a 1-hitter against walker valley and struck out 9. there was a gun on him and he was consistently between 84-87. he hit 89 one time. justin higdon was also clocked at 89 yesterday in the championship game against notre dame striking out 7 in 5 innings. again, he threw consistently between 84-87. nic robinson throws upper 80s and john howard and joe young both throw mid 80's. with these guys' performances thus far its a toss up. hopefully it stays that way

So if you go off those stats, what about Burke from Ooltewah? He hit .440 with 14 doubles in the regular season and he's just a sophomore.

Hows Central shaping up this year? Havent heard much about them lately. Pitching going to be strong? What about hitting? Can anybody besides Wilkes hit the ball? I have heard a little about the Farrow kid. Is he going to be eligible afterplaying at Ooltewah last year? Let me know.

in southeast tn its ooltewah. higdon, howard, robinson, jones, burke, and the list goes on and on and on...best pitching this team has had in a long time.

higdon threw very well minus the one guy he hit on an 0-2 count. burke hit hard but right at people robinson threw well for ooltewah several walker valley guys hit it well. i don't know their names though.

I think this whole THREAD has gotten out of hand. It should have never been an issue off the internet because it never got personal with anyone. Somebody chose to make it that way. I would hope it is over. I think everyone on here has clarified what they meant to say. And I'm sure everyone misunderstood everyone.

Ok newballer so maybe I got a few words wrong. The point is, comments even similar to that only tear an already broken team apart even further. I agree. It's sad that nobody will step up. Everybody's quick to blame the coach, or a player, or make excuses. The reality is, nobody wants to hear any of that. Step up and show us what you've got. From what I've heard, the guys that should be leaders are a bunch of whiners.... For example....somebody who's supposed to be a leader and is actually in a leadership position shouldn't make the comment, "If 'so-and-so' is playing, I ain't gonna block for him." Come on now, that's just trash...Grow up and give your all because you love football...who cares who the coach has playing. Do your job!

What a shame... Without a leader a great team is nothing. With a leader a not-so-good team can be something. I have noticed this too.

Without going into much detail, he got suspended for 5 days because he let his temper get to him. It was something stupid. I know what ya'll are thinking, but no, he did not get into a fight. No game tonight and No practice next week!
