  1. If I recall correctly, CPA won state at the stadium field at Siegel... A "large" field... Great teams can play on big fields, small fields, wet fields, dry fields, the south lawn of the White House (which would be a heck of a name for your field... You're welcome) or a cow pasture. CPA is a GREAT team. The middle school team had a GREAT season. The pipeline is strong for the Lions. CPA and then everyone else this year, and as BigG gets the program going, there's nothing that anyone else will be able to do. 6 state titles in 7 years with a runner up finish after the 5th straight is what he's done previously... You can't teach the gift that he has. CPA Lions - 2015 Champs
  2. This year it's CPA and everybody else. 8 (maybe more) returning starters and the best coach in the state coming in (BigG's record speaks for itself) I honestly don't think there's an A/AA team that will stay within a goal of CPA this year. Everyone else is playing for silver
  3. UCM, you're 100% on the money with a great analogy. Darrell Warren and Taharin Tyson-led teams, extraordinary teams who were able to beat Maryville, might can do it once a season. But one victory does not mean a whole season of dominance would occur. I would imagine that while the Maryville kids love beating their little brother, they're not too concerned over it. That was made evident by an interview with one of the Maryville players either this year or last, who stated it's no big deal for them to beat Alcoa. Just a different mindset. It's not just Maryville that's a different breed, but it's teams like Oakland and Blackman and Whitehaven and Siegel and these types of teams who bring it week in and week out. Heck, Charlie High's team that you said was "Top 5" lost to the worst team in that area, LaVergne. It's just a completely different animal, one that no 3A team could handle week in and week out.
  4. Alcoa having such a good record against privates, something you always are quick to point out, is to be expected since Alcoa dresses nearly triple the amount of kids the privates they play dress. Definitely double. No big deal then, either...
  5. They don't compete with Maryville. They get hammered by Maryville, routinely.
  6. I applaud your enthusiasm, but even the other Alcoa supporters aren't backing you on this one. Alcoa was not a top 10 team in the state, sorry. They MIGHT have been a top 10 team last year.
  7. Not sure about Ensworth and MBA? 😂😂😂 go back to basketball buddy... Gotta agree with UCM, those 11 teams were 100% all better than Alcoa this year.
  8. Obviously no disrespect intended, its just not realistic.
  9. No way. The last time Alcoa was top 5 in the state was '10. If you're 4A or below and you don't win your class, you're automatically disqualified. Furthermore, just the championship teams, both D2-AA schools are better, both 6A schools are better, West has definitely been better and they lost last season and Fulton have all been better teams than Alcoa. South Doyle would've beaten Alcoa this year. Top 10, you can argue, but no, not top 5. It takes an excellent 3A team to be top 5, I don't even know if Charlie High's CAK teams were top 5.
  10. Odd to say, this year's graduating seniors will graduate with "only" 1 state championship. I imagine that's been a colossal disappointment to the players and the community. Keep your heads up Tornadoes. Many would kill to be in y'alls shoes.
  11. I have to say I've wondered the idea of not playing your best lineman both ways in recent years. Obviously, it's not always necessary but players like JT Rankin or Thomas Loy could add so much defensively. This year, from my understanding Mitchell hasn't played much defense. I guess when you win every game (basically) it's not necessary but still something I've wondered.
  12. Im sure CRB at CAK would be willing to partner with Knox Webb and support Second Harvest. That would be something any school should be able to get behind.
  13. At a certain point, when you're looking around the room and wondering why no one wants to stand by you, it probably has little to do with your perceived greatness, and more to do with the fact that you smell like crap... For all your talk about how teams are ducking you because they're scared, then why are these teams scheduling even more difficult teams like Alcoa, Maryville and West? Look around the room Cathaholic supporters, and try and figure out why no one will stand next to you.
  14. I'd say part of it has to do with people like you, a coach at Cathaholic, showing the high level of class you're showing here. Pathetic, coach. I'm glad my kids aren't coached by you.
  15. I'm not going to be impressed until he can win without Armstrong's players...
  16. That is a deal. In all honesty, I've always heard about how good the Alcoa City Schools education department is, and then on top of that to be playing for top notch competitive teams... Does anyone know what it costs for OOZ students to attend Maryville likewise? Or what Catholic/CAK cost?
  17. What does it cost for OOZ students to attend Alcoa?
  18. Same song... different verse. CPA is gonna put up a fight just like Huntingdon did, just like Goodpasture did, just like Milan did.... West/Middle Tennessee football isn't the same as East Tennessee football. Congrats to CPA on a great season and finally getting over the 3A hump, but I've seen this Alcoa team play. They WANT it. CPA, you honestly don't know what you're getting into. Good luck to the Lions, it'll be the hardest game your boys have ever played in. Score prediction- Alcoa 49, CPA 14
  19. ^^^^^ HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Who's ready for some crow big man?
  20. Look, no disrespect intended, but its getting a little old with the "we should've beaten CAK" stuff. Any frequent observer of CAK will tell you that their worst performance of the year was against Betsy. That game is played 10 times, and CAK wins 10 times, and the other 9 games are by more than 21 points. Betsy had a great season, and maybe it felt like you were in it, but you never were. Betsy was the 3rd best team that CAK played in 3A last year.
