    REGIONX

/thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Congratulations to my Germantown Red Devils on their Region Championship! (Victory with Honor sure tastes sweet!) And to our Five Region Champs, and Two State Placers you all did great, but the job isnt done yet! Keep working hard and make us proud when you head to UTC! I've got plenty of room on the highlight reel for all yall!!!
  2. Coach Thiry, You know how it goes, its easy to sit here watching the snow melt saying it shouldn't have been delayed til next week. The folks at the Board of Ed offices didn't have the benefit of hindsight and made the call as best they could. Since I grew up in Buffalo it was just another day in the neighborhood for me.... BUT I've seen how people around here drive in the snow and IT AIN'T PRETTY!!! Better to put safety first. And like you said, those that are prepared will be able to meet this challenge too. As for me - I'm having a wonderful morning changing my plans for Monday and Tuesday so I can watch 'em get it on at the 'Dova. You did a good job on the other tournaments this year, and I know y'all will do a great job this week too
  3. Both the Devils and the Dragons will need to take it up a notch in Clarksville this week. Tough competition for both is on the horizon, but all of us left siders know they are up for the challenge. Best of Luck to all our Region X representatives
  4. USFJIM, Great and powerful prognosticator of the left side wrestling world, Good to see you back on the board!!!
  5. At 103, I believe that Emmanual Bernal of Germantown pinned Herndon in their dual meet at the end of December.
  6. Congrats to Coaches Bradley and Simpson on the win, the Devils have a big week coming up going against Collierville (Tues at home) and Houston (Thurs at Houston). Should be some great wrestling!
  7. Thats not a lot of teams, any teams coming in from out of town?
  8. The tournaments i have worked usually have the time the match ends written on the bout sheet, then the head table adds the 45 min and puts the time on their next bout sheet and you can't call the match before that time. Also some of the software out there does it automatically I think.
  9. The Dogfights are this Saturaday at Briarcrest. Who's scheduled to participate? I know Germantown will be there....
  10. Unfortunately, Title IX has had more to do with the eradication of men's college athletic programs than it has creating more opportunities for women. Colleges certainly own a portion of the blame for pulling the plug on programs like men's wrestling because it was the path of least resistance for them. In my humble opinion, no sport builds character and discipline that translates into other areas of life more than our sport does. The current interpretation of title IX has created an injustice that my two sons have to live with, since programs are so few and far in between for all but the elite level wrestler.
  11. They're up on the commando web site. Here's the link: http://www.commandowrestling.com/tourney06/hhs06home.htm or from their homepage, click on the tournament logo on the left side of the page.
  12. The 145 Bracket is wrong. Greg Featherston of Germantown was the champion.
  13. I think if It were held in different parts of the state, the overall following for the sport would grow - and that's what we need! I would like to see some more college programs in our state that could give the kind of support we get in Chatt. Maybe if our state tournaments came to Memphis once in a while we could get some interest going. Spring fling used to be in Chattanooga and has come to Memphis. C'mon guys, share the love!
  14. from the commando wrestling web site: Participating Teams - Beech, Centennial, Germantown, Greenbrier, Hendersonville, Hume Fogg, Maplewood, Mt Juliet, Pope John Paul II, Sullivan East, Stratford, Sycamore, Whitehouse, Rossview, Lebanon, East Literature, Springfield, Dickson Co, Memphis Braircrest, Hopkinsville, KY, Knoxville Catholic, Oakland http://commandowrestling.com/tournament.html
  15. Should be a great tourney! Looking forward to seeing the future of the left side compete.
  16. CoachDelgado Posted Yesterday, 09:57 PM Germantown won the Call of the Wild duals. I believe that Cordova was second. West Hall, Georgia was third and Houston was fourth. Actually, I think West Hall beat the Wolves in the first round of the finals and then G-town had back to back wins against both, which made it 1st- Devils, 2nd- Spartans, 3rd-Wolves.
  17. Hey, last night you said you were going to be "nicer"
  18. Borneman beat Sharp by a single point and spent the last 30 seconds of the match on his back. Lots of hard fought matches by both sides. One match goes the other way and the end result would have been different... but, well you know...
  19. What time tomorow do the Dragons invade the Wolves Den?
  20. That is correct Apologies to Mr Martin!!
