Now that you mention region strength, the following is the average of the eight teams SOS in each region and the teams that made it out and their SOS: Region 1 - 45 (Tennessee SOS 94) Region 2 - 61 (Powell SOS 55) Region 3 - 70 Region 4 - 38 (Blackman SOS 13, Cookeville SOS 11) Region 5 - 41 Region 6 - 81 (Hillsboro SOS 91, McGavock SOS 66) Region 7 - 76 Region 8 - 38 (Memphis Central SOS 10, Memphis Overton SOS 12) That puts Hillsboro and McGavock in the weakest region just behind Region 7(Millington), but both Hillsboro and McGavock and been ranked the top ten in middle tennessee for most of the year and they beat two teams(Wilson Central and LaVergne) from a region with a much stronger SOS of 41. One of the strongest regions, #4 has Blackman and Cookeville, both of which consistantly ranked out of the top ten behind Shelbyville and Riverdale. Playing a tougher schedule can certainly help prepare a team even in a loss, but if they peak to soon or have bad matchups, the numbers don't mean much.

What teams are playing in Franklin County on Saturday?

As a parent of one of the Pride players, I honestly don't recall any parents being rude to their children . I was in the middle of all of them. I know some parents(even myself) made some remarks questioning the refs.. I understand that you can't blame a game on the refs, but there were so many obvious calls misplaced in the game, that it makes you wonder if the refs weren't to blame..I just wanted the girls to get a fair break as any parent would.. If the roles were reversed , wouldn't you feel the same? Even a Shelbyville parent told me that the Pride was getting a "bum deal" from the refs. It's a shame when some of your own fans feel sorry for the opposing team.

Spree, I was at this game, and your accusations against the Memphis parents are completely false.. Actually , a couple of Shelbyville kids said something to the refs which led to them getting escorted out of the gym.. There were several teams in the gym cheering for the Tigers and all they were doing was cheering.. So Spee, you might need to be the one to get a GRIP!

Of course TENNESSEE's going to do good!! If that many teams have made it this far from tennessee some teams bound to get somewhere in the nationals aren't they? I'm going for the TENNESSEE ELITE! I know a few people on that team!

What happened to "acess"? Two posts have been deleted. Looks like the "Blue" is certainly loaded. How about the "Orange", are they mostly local girls. Will Coach Brown be coaching both teams or will he concentrate on the "Blue"?

The waves are not fielding an 12U team this year. I believe three of the starters are playing in Lebanon. That leaves the question, where are the other kids playing? The bulls are still a together and should be the team to beat(tied for 9th in nationals) I would tend to agree with the notion that SSS would want an "A" team to compete at the highest level, but they may be so loaded with talent that two "A" teams are possible. Which team is Laken Leonard on?

Now you've done it. I hope you are ready for the Jackson County onslaught(Devilfanatic, 7AAwatcher, Bob77, Jimbo44) I've seen alot of AA ball played this year and for you to make a comment like that just shows your lack of knowledge. I commend you on your support for your team and I hope it comes down to SC playing either JC or LA. I will certainly be there to watch it. BTW, I am not associated with any AA team.

Explain "county girls" and "everyone else". Are they separating the locals from the kids from out of town?

There has been alot of talk about the 12U age group being able to take the national championship in Kingsport this year. What's the argument? Last year, the 11U waves were State Champs, but that team broke up. Where are the girls playing this year. Is the talent being concentrated in one area? I know that SSS had their organizational workout this past Saturday, but from reading the post from "Sidetrain" it doesn't appear that they will be loaded. I may have read it wrong, if so, I apolgize. Are the Bulls from Knowville still together? They looked pretty tough last year. And how about the Stars/Raiders, TN Express, Team Pride, TN Elite. Does anyone want to weigh in, or is it still to early?

I was under the impression that they already had enough to field a very good 12U team. Are the tryouts for a second team or just to see if any other talent shows up. Also, there has been discussion on the girls board concerning the big Jackson Co. girl playing up. Anybody know? I understand that in the past, prospective players were told that Rick would be coaching these younger age groups, but it didn't turn out that way. Is this true and if so, will this year be differant? Duke
