  1. I went to East back in the 70's. No Literature then, but no football team either, we were a BBall school. And we never beat Maplewood in football that I remember. Way to go Eagles! You made this old Eagle proud of the red and grey!!!
  2. Glencliff's varsity may be weak, but their freshmen are very good. I saw them drill a good 9th grade Stratford team last week. Icy does a good job with his kids.
  3. Maplewood High! When its packed, the rafters shake, it's 120 degrees, and that big Panther on the wall growls at the visitors!
  4. Icy is Glencliff's freshman coach. He has a lot to learn and it won't come from Wright. Antioch's coach is an egomaniac. But his team is loaded. Anybody that tries to embaress kids shouldn't be coaching. Anybody who let's his players quit and give up shouldn't be coaching either.
  5. Hillsboro 40 Rossview 0 Maplewood 40 Clarksville 0 Tullahoma 31 Mt Juliet 21 Stratford 22 Springfield 21
  6. Gallatin 24 Ravenwood 7 Hunters Lane 20 Brentwood 10 Dickson County 28 Antioch 0 Hendersonville 17 Franklin 14
  7. Stratford has been mostly black for 20 years. That has nothing to do with it. Only lately have they been referred to as undisciplined and thugs. Johnson brought that attitude and lack of control, class, and sportsmanship and Smith is trying to change it but ain't there yet. You never heard that mess with Pigue, Leach, Spears, or Campbell. They coached mostly black teams that played the game the right way. And there are many white teams that are undisciplined, dirty, and thuggish too. I won't lower myself to name any here.
  8. Maplewood 40 Clarksville 0 Maplewood will beat em up physically and on the scoreboard.
  9. What comments were made? I was at the Stratford game but didn't hear the comments on the radio.
  10. Thomas Majors is the best I've seen this year, followed by Plandell Terry of Whites Creek and Tim Clay of Hunters Lane.
  11. How many home playoff games is Maplewood gonna host, that is as long as they keep winning?
  12. Stratford didn't get outcoached, they got outrefereed! Anybody that is honest and was at the game knows it's true.
  13. Stratford totally dominated Whites Creek 31-8. Maplewood drubbed Tullahoma 52-21. Stratford is heading to the playoffs. Maplewood is heading to Murfreesboro. Do it East Nashville!
  14. Caught the Stratford game last night. They looked like the old Stratford teams, line down and kick butt with that old stacked I formation. Glencliff couldn't handle the heat in the trenches. Stratford's huge line and little backs made it hard to even find the ball sometimes. Way to go Spartans!
  15. Didn't see this one coming. Thought Whites Creek would get the W with almost their whole team back. Hunters Lane looked awesome in the Jamboree against Stratford and carried it over in this rivalry game. Way to go Warriors.
  16. McGavock 21 Hendersonville 10 McGavock bounces back in region opener
  17. Just beat Glencliff next week and everything will be alright. Jamboree don't matter. Next Friday night is what counts.
  18. Dude, they didn't steal your Coach, they just gave him a job teaching in the school, something that Stratford wouldn't/couldn't do. As for Hillwood, it will take a while. Link left a big mess. Baskin will work and improvement will be made.
  19. Stratford will be a playoff team
  20. If they really cared about the players, they would back up the season start dates for three weeks, shorten the playoffs to only #1 and #2 in region advance, and make less playoff money, oops, there lies the true dilemma ... money or safety!
  21. foe - an adversary, opponent, or personal enemy. (Websters) Not ebonics, ENGLISH. I guess you only speak country.
  22. Best of luck to Preston at Kentucky. Great player and good kid too.
  23. why the change? OK ST seemed like a great place to go. After all he did to qualify, what happened?

I'll tell you why ... because it's a tough, demanding job. After he's gone, people will realize what an incredible job Coach Fitzgerald has done at PC. Let's see, he's been coach, teacher, mentor, father, pastor, counselor, academic advisor, disciplinarian, and friend to dozens of kids who will run through a wall for him. He took PC from laughing stock to 2-time state champs, and done it with class. Who else gonna do his job like he did? - NOBODY!
