101.3 carries a mix of Westview, Dresden, Greenfield, & Gleason with one play by play and one game with updates each week. 97.7 carries either Trenton or Gibson Co. & 93.7 has Milan exclusively. Scores from throughout West Tennessee are given on each broadcast & afterward on West Tennessee H.S. Scoreboard w/ Frank Underwood on all three.

If Peabody had fallen to Class A it would've been a no brainer with them joining UC in 8A and shifting the Carroll county schools to 7A and being a 7-7 split. With 13 class A teams I see McKenzie as the wild card. Do they keep the three Carroll countians together or send the Rebels west. I think Perry Co. will go across the river and play with the schools they play basketball with. 7AA become a Gibson/Weakley affair "sounds great for 101.3 & 97.7" with Milan, Humboldt, Peabody, Gibson Co., Westview, & Dresden. 6AA has only five teams in this scenario with Huntingdon, Camden, Riverside, Adamsville, & USJ. They might find a school across the river that would travel to avoid the new AA "alphabet schools"!!!! AAA now would have 14 teams and if they split 7-7 I see Haywood joining Dyersburg in 7AAA with Dyer, Obion, Crockett, Covington, & Ripley. "Tough region" 6AAA would have Liberty, Southside, Chester, McNairy, Lexington, Fayette-Ware, & Bolivar. 7-4A would drop to five teams with Brighton added to JCM, Northside, Munford, & Hardin Co.

101.3 is the new frequency for WCMT in Martin. We have a new tower and have increased to 25,000 watts. The West Tennessee H.S. Scoreboard is simulcast on 101.3, 97.7 in Trenton and 93.7 in Milan each Friday night after the conclusion of the broadcast on each station. I've also begun an evening show, "The Pre-Game Meal" 6:30-7:00 on 101.3 & 97.7 prior to game broadcasts. We cover all seven West regions outside Shelby county on the show.

I don't know about inaccuracy, but it did appear to me the jamboree story was written by someone who was not used to writing for newspaper. If it was a novice, that might explain the mistakes.

Danny, I'm sorry to hear that you will not be associated with the Rebel coverage at all this year. I know that it has been a big part of your life for some time. Thanks for all you did for Lucas when he was playing and for all the other Rebels who have taken the court and field in these 16 years. I'm a firm believer that all things happen for a reason and maybe with Jake now a Rebel it was time to be full-time parent during sport seasons. I once again maintain that in my opinion (and I feel I'm pretty uniquely qualified in this circumstance) that this is not a sound move from a business, public relations, or broadcasting standpoint. But they didn't ask me did they.

I believe you think that Redbirdfan is the one and only Robin Cuuuuuuude! I assure you he is not. And you don't have to worry about B93.7, Tennessee Country 97.7, or Mix 101.3 making this same lack of commitment to the young people of their broadcast areas.

Speaking as a broadcaster, coach, & parent of a former OC basketball player, I'd rather have any play-by-play as none at all. That's my two cents worth.

According to the Union City Messenger, Graves Co. has a first-year coach named Mike Rogers. One of his assistants is longtime West Tennessee head coach Larry Shanks.

I guess if I was going to suggest one place it would be a trip to Reelfoot Lake. About 45 minutes from Martin. Beautiful scenery and extra good eating!

I think this region may be as wide open as it ever has been. Bruceton should be improved but still not old dominant self, West Carroll will still be good, South Fulton will be down a little but still very competitive, Greenfield and Halls should be decent and Lake County is a year older and should make the playoffs in year two of their rebuilding.

Don't see anyway numbers wise that McKenzie & Union City don't drop. It would make the most sense to move West Carroll & Bruceton to Region 7 & put McKenzie there. They'll be losing USJ & maybe Perry Co. if they're moved back across the river. 8A would "welcome" Union City and maybe Peabody depending on where the class break winds up.

I don't see any way Union City doesn't become a 1A unless they choose to move up. Administration has all but said they would not do that. I believe they will continue to play Westview as a non-region game.

Huntingdon Boys Basketball & Lake Co. assistant football/head Middle School positions have been filled I know.

I totally agree Opperman. The 14AAA you described would be fantastic for Shelby County.

Dresden has been 2A since the last classification and has become competitive in possibly the best 2A region in the state top to bottom.

If so Peabody slides into Region 8. Here's how I've got it. Region 7-JCS, Fayette Academy, Bruceton, Middleton, McKenzie, West Carroll, TCA Region 8-Greenfield, Gleason, So. Fulton, Lake Co., Halls, Union City, & maybe Peabody Perry County could stay in 7 or move to 6 where they probably should be.

Lighthouse Christian is D-2 and Manassas will surely move up so that will allow all of the West to again be in two regions and the Duck River Valley can be spread over 5 & 6.

Swap Crockett & McNairy in Regions 6 & 7.

Projecting from the new enrollment figures, at least six West Tennessee schools (outside Shelby Co.) aare on the move in 2005 and four more are "on the bubble" depending on the finaal number of schools in Division One. McKenzie and Union City are dropping to Class A for sure and will become immediate title contenders. Trenton Peabody could join them as they are right on a cutline. USJ will move up to AA of course, while Gibson Co. & Chester Co. could both be in AA, both in AAA, or swap places with Gibson dropping and Chester going up. Haywood Co. & Dyersburg are both apparently falling in AAA with instant impact. Jackson Northside could conceivably drop as well. Brighton is the lone school whose enrollment bumped them as the Cardinals become a AAAA in 2005.

Some interesting changes in store in West Tn. basketball beginning in 2005. Three schools are undoubtedly dropping to class A. McKenzie, Union City, & Riverside. Humboldt is possible depending on what some privates decide about jumping to D-2. USJ will be moving up to 2A with their multiplier and Dyersburg will drop down to 2A. Jackson Northside is on the bubble and could drop as well depending on where the breaks fall. Brighton is the only true upwardly mobile school as they become a 3A. Union City should fall into 15A and give it a much needed fifth team. McKenzie will join its county brethren in 13A and Riverside should replace USJ in 14A. If Humboldt dropped they could join Trenton in 16A. USJ moves to 12AA with Liberty/Southside. Northside would go here too. Probably some rearranging with 11AA losing McKenzie/Riverside they'd be down to three members. Dyersburg joins Dyer Co. in 13AA. Brighton replaces Dyersburg in 13AAA. I see Munford moving to that district as well. *This does not evaluate any changes in Shelby County which geographically is in West Tennessee.
