  1. Yeah.. Yeah... Yeah.... Thats what u say now but things would have been different if the outcome was not the same. Shelbyville was hand checking the entire game. LOT of fouls were never called that were obvious. Fuller was throwing elbows the entire game under the boards. Yeah Shelbyville won. But they definetely got all the calls. I don't know what game you watched but the Greeneville - Shelbyville game is the game I'm talking about.
  2. Powell had the game won and gave Craigmont a chance. Why didn't they pass the ball up just past midcourt? There would have been no way Craigmont could have sent the game to overtime.
  3. They had it won..... and let Craigmont have a chance to tie it in regulation. Why didn't they just pass the ball up just past mid court and the game would have ended with Powell winning
  4. I was there and saw it..... Its ashame the zebras decided who won this game.
  5. Better watch out for Greeneville tonite... I think they can stay with Shelbyville. Remember you heard it here FIRST
  6. If Livingston has lost to Oliver Springs earlier this season why isn't the score listed on Livingston's schedule in coacht's website ? ? I think Livingston's going ALL the WAY If they play like they did yesterday they can BEAT Shelbyville
  7. The way you talk there is no doubt you are very familiar with smoking a pipe for sure. And since we are going on record, I say that neither of your teams are in the finals next year and Shelbyville is again. Take another puff on that. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Flem you are really FULL OF IT You haven't won the thing this year yet buba. And just to set the record straight I don't smoke anything. But you my friend (and I use the term loosely in your case) and nothing but a front runner. Where would u be if Shelbyville wasn't here????? For one thing you wouldn't be in here making the posts you do reguarding NEXT YEAR. As I STATED.... Shelbyville has a good program and GOOD Players. BUT THEY WILL NOT... I repeat... WILL NOT win the State NEXT YEAR. Keep on dreaming Flem. Keep on dreaming and when reality does finally set in please do us all a favor and GIVE US EXCUSES why it didn't happen... LOL
  8. You have to living in a dream world thinking Shelbyville will win the STATE next year... LOL LOL LOL LOL. That's a good one. Shelbyville has a good program and good players BUT they LOSE toooooooooooooooooo much to even be considered for NEXT YEAR. I'm going on record here and now. Mt. Juliet will play Wilson Central for the State Championship NEXT YEAR. put that in your pipe and smoke it.
  9. Be nice to devilfanatic now. He's just a guy supporting his team. He sometimes has interesting comments and makes good points. This wasn't Jackson County's year. You can't win forever..... I've been following girls basketball for several years. My team is Mt. Juliet and if they're in the State Tournament I am happy. But, reguardless if they go or not I always go to the State. I enjoy the atmosphere and the competition. Looking forward to the games this year.
  10. The odds of a Shelbyville vs. Columbia Championship game is 1,000,000,000 to 1. I'm looking for these teams in the semis Wilson Central vs. Shelbyville Craigmont vs. Powell Those should be interesting matchups. I wouldn't mine if I missed the Shelbyville vs. Jackson North Side winner...
  11. You are entitled to your opinion OS. As for me I would like to see the 2 best teams play in the FINALS. And a point about Crockett County. I don't know if you'd say they have got on fire or that they've been fournate in events that took place. They did finish 5th in their district regular season. Then in the districts they got thumped by Gibson by 20 and then lost the consulation game to Obion. They were obviously lucky to be paired with a very weak district in the Region. I think all of the teams from District 14-AA had lossing records except for Covington, which was just one game over .500. In their opening round game they beat Brighton by 5 and then the upset bug hit Westview when they lost to Haywood. Who would have thunk it. Then the next nite in the semis they defeated Haywood and that put them in the sectionals. They did lose to Gibson again, this time 15. Then they got another good draw beating BT Washington. I don't know how you can say a team that has a record (4-3) in the post season is on fire.... LOL. And I do think they got another good draw by opening the first round against McMinn Central in the STATE. I mean of the 7 other teams in the tournament this would be the weakiest team next to them. Just a opinion, here's my seeding for the Class AA 1 Gibson County (34-0) 2 Livingston (34-3) 3 Seymour (29-2) 4 Loretto (24-5) 5 Oliver Springs (33-5) 6 Cheatham Co. (32-2) 7 McMinn Central (28-7) 8 Crockett County (19-15) My brackets would be Gibson Co. vs Crockett Co Loretto vs. Oliver Springs Livingston vs. McMinn Central Seymour vs. Cheatham Co. That took me all of 2 minutes to come up with..... LOL
  12. Wilson Central has a very good team. They are very young. They start one freshman (Sara Williams), one sophmore (Linsay Antone), two juniors (Kelly Gassie and Kellie O'Connell) and one senior (Jan Davidson). They have a good inside game with Williams and Antone roatating at the base line. Of course the MAIN player is Gassie. She is awesome and very unselfish. She will do whatever it takes. She can take over a game and carry the team on her back. But, basically their plan is to work it inside to their post players. I'd say the biggest win for Central was the win over Mt. Juliet in the district finals. Other than that they have not played any of the so called powers of the state. Did beat Antioch twice, and early in the season beat Bradley. They are a fun team to watch play. They could be the surprise team in Murfreesboro... hope so.
  13. THIS JUST IN ............. Shelbyville is favored to win Class AAA Well based on the districts and regions, not to mention the sectionals Shelbyville has had a CAKewalk. I do think Jackson North Side can play with them. If anybody hasn't noticed the last 3 trips to Mboro Shelbyville has been the team to knock them out of the tournament. And also another note, Northside has opened the first round playing Shelbyville 3 times. This will be Northside's 8th trip to State. Their record in the tourney is (6-7) with half their losses (4) to Shelbyville. This will definetely be a David vs. Goliath matchup
  14. Just wondering... why Jack Harlow does so much jumping around. He was coaching at Franklin County at one time. Then he was at Columbia. Now he's at Bradley. He is a very good coach just wondering why he hasn't stayed at one place to build a program and then maintain it. I guess being in the same district with Shelbyville is no fun.
  15. Remember this is the TSSAA They do whatever they please The Sectionals was the biggest mistake ever made. I knew it the minute they announced it. It was basically done to get more money for the T$$AA. But it backfired on them when they didn't have the gates they thought they'd have and hence they covered their mistake and cancelled it. I remember Livingston and Jackson Co. played each other SIX TIMES that season. 2 regular season games. Once in the Disitrict, Once in the Region, Once in the Sectional, and One more time in the State Finals. Funny thing was they split the regular season games. Jackson Co. won the district, region, and sectional games and then Livingston won the State Championship game. Jackson Co. had won 4 of the 5 meetings but then had to win for a 5th time to win the State. It just isn't fair to ask a team to beat the same team FIVE TIMES to win a State Championship.
  16. If memory serves me correct I believe Beech went to the State Tournament the first year the school opened in 1981. That was quiet an accomplishment and so is what Wilson Central has done. Ofcourse it helps that for the most part most of their players would be playing at Mt. Juliet if the school had not been opened. Good Luck to the Lady Wildcats in the STATE
  17. way to Go Lady Wildcats ! ! ! ! ! I thought it was the best game I've ever seen them play. The way they played the first half it would have been hard for anybody to handle them. I guess the first round opponent will be Heritage and then if they win and meeting with Shelbyville... Enjoy the win and get ready for STATE Bring the GOLD home to Wilson County....
  18. Good Luck to Wilson Central in their Sectional game. As a Mt. Juliet fan I am dissappointed my team's season is over. The Lady Bears had a outstanding season ending with a 30-4 record. Record Season District 9-AAA Champion. There were alot of big victories and some tough heartbreaking losses. The future is bright with all the starters returning and a outstanding freshman class will be joining the upper classmen. Hopefully we can make a run for the GOLD next year. Being a resident of Wilson County I am pulling for Wilson Central to bring home the GOLD. You have a chance. Play smart and play with confidence. Take them one game at a time starting with Antioch. Good Luck Lady Wildcats.
  19. Hate to bust your 7-AAA bubble but here goes First Round games Seymour over Chester Co. McMinn Central over BT Washington Cheatham Co. over Oliver Springs Gibson Co. over Livingston .... which is for the CHAMPIONSHIP Semisfinals Seymour over McMinn Central Gibson Co. over Cheatham Co. FINALS see 1st Round match up comments
  20. Thats true you do have to play 'em sooner or later. BUT, don't you think it would be better to have the TWO BEST teams playing in the Championship Game than in a 1st Round game? And just to let u know Seymour is NOT in the class with Gibson Co. Just my opinion. Just a note, it wouldn't surprise me to see Seymour lose to South Greene in the Sectionals.... It's just not my belief you REWARD a team for losing.... And this is what happened with Jackson Co. losing to Livingston. Personally I'd prefer to see the tournaments be sudden death. You lose you go home with no consulation games. Start with the districts and only take the Champion to the Region and then eliminate the Sectionals and take 8 Region Champions to the State. Then you have a true Champion that earned the GOLD BALL.
  21. If anyone hasn't noticed if Livingston and Gibson Co. both win their sectional games they will meet in the opening round of the State. If Jackson Co. wins their Sectional game they will face B.T. Washington (23-11) or Crockett Co. (18-15) in their opening round game. So, by losing to Livingston it definetely appears Jackson Co. got the best end of the deal....
  22. Just curious... Does anyone think Jackson Co. tanked it against Livingston? Livingston's reward for winning is a probable 1st Round game against Gibson Co. I know you can't keep on dodging them. But it does seem unfair that Livingston and Gibson Co. will be playing in a 1st Round game. I've always been a preponent of the TSSAA seeding the top 2 teams and putting them in opposite brackets. BUT I was told by a TSSAA official that this wouldn't be fair to the other 6 teams. Go Figure??? I have seen years when clearly the top 2 teams have played in the opening round and usually because of the time of the game wasn't able to draw the crowd it would have if played in the finals. Granted this is NO guarantee the 2 teams would make it to the finals but at least there would be A CHANCE. But, its not going to happen. For one thing it makes GOOD SENSE to do it and ofcourse the TSSAA is never going to do anything that makes GOOD SENSE. Just my opinion for what its worth... which if you put it with 75 cents it will get u a cup of coffee... LOL
  23. I'm not crying HUCK. Just stating facts. What part of my statement DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND Shelbyville IS toooooooooo GOOD for us average mortal humans and they should go NATIONAL and just play the super power teams around the country. AND just to let you know Mt. Juliet has won TWO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS in the past. Maybe we'll win another one in the future. I hope so but nobody knows for sure. At least I do know one thing. The girls that come through this program are home grown and start playing at a young age and their dream is to some day play for the Lady Bears. Hope you enjoy scouting at Murphy Center tonite. Don't know who your team is but if your playing Shelbyville I'd suggest stay home. Why waste your time and money on going to scout them. They can't be beat. They're too good for anyone in this state.
  24. Excuse me Showtime for telling it like it is.... AND besides, I was merely giving your team SHELBYVILLE PRAISE for being so GREAT and GOOD. AND we know the means they go to be this good. MY point was this. Shelbyville is toooooooooo good for all of us inferral average teams around here in Tennessee. I was merely suggesting that Shelbyville go the route Oak Hill Academy has taken and just turn your local high school girls basketball program into a NATIONAL PROGRAM and travel the country and play only THE BEST TEAMS and stop whipping up on the local state teams by 20, 30, 40, and 50 points. What does it prove???? Go out and play with the best in the country and let the average teams play among outselves. And by the way Pigue could have went to DCA but I think thats a private school. AND Clark did just move her with her family but it wasn't a move moviated by her playing BASKETBALL. There are other things more important. I have no jealously of the Shelbyville program. I think its unfair the advantages they have compared to what the other schools do. Oh, I do remember a few years ago Shelbyville did try to go out and play just the TOP teams around the country and I believe their record started out the year something like "0-10" Do you remember that showtime??? I guess it wasn't fun going out and getting your brains beat in was it. Guess thats why they just play a few games against these so called super powers around the country.
  25. How childish of you people to carry on like this. Shows how immature the grown ups are. You people praising Shelbyville are you really aware of what your praising? STOP and think a minute. I don't blame someone from cheering for their team and supporting them. The fans from White County and Sevier County are "NOT" allowed to cheer and support their teams? That seems to be your opinion. I have heard comments made by people claiming to be Shelbyville fans that if you have a daughter that wants to get a DIVISION I scholarship THE place to MOVE to is Shelbyville so your daughter can get the training she needs to become a DIVISION I prospect. Is this ALL Shelbyville IS ABOUT ???? Get ALL the great players to come their and WIN WIN WIN.... It is obvious to most intelligent people whats going on at Shelbyville. They are playing by a different set of RULES than the others. HOME GROWN talent is where the others are getting their players. While Shelbyville is actively out recruiting the young AAU and junior high kids with talent to come to Shelbyville if you want to get a DIVISION I scholarship..... I compare the Shelbyville girls program to the Oak Hill Academy boys program. ALL Oak Hill does is gets the outstanding young men that want a DIVISION I scholarship to come there and play basketball. They play all across the country and they are usually ranked as one of the TOP BOYS teams in the country. HOWEVER, all they play is a REGULAR SEASON schedule. THEY DO NOT play in the State supported tournaments in Virigina. THE REASON is they DON'T PLAY by the same RULES the other schools go by. So Shelbyville I surrender to YOU. YOU are the ALL MIGHTY GREATEST GIRLS BASKETBALL PROGRAM in the ENTIRE COUNTRY. WHY play these small inferral schools and beat them by 20, 30, 40, and 50 points..... WHY don't you do like Oak Hill Academy. Go all over the country playing ONLY THE BEST COMPETION and let us MORALS play amoung ourselves and determine OUR STATE CHAMPION. YOUR STAND ALONE BY YOURSELF MIGHTY Shelbyville This state has split the private and the public schools into Division I for the publics, and Division II for the privates. LETS split it up into 3 Divisions and LET MIGHTY Shelbyville have their OWN Division to themselves. This is my opinion and I have voiced it. JUST as you have voiced your opinions.
