Are you really predicting a loss from a Simpson(MBA). Last time I checked that little Simpson has not not even been taken to the second period in any of his dual meet matches against Ryan! Then you pick Mix over a returning state Champ! I don't know. Well lets not let our emotions over rule our reason when it comes to posting upsets. I also notice how you knew he first and last name of the Ryan wrestlers while only knowing the MBA kids by there last name. Hmmm.... sounds like Chuck and Freestyle are sipping the same kool-aid. I love hearing about the rivalries especially between the Simpson brothers and their nephews. it really makes for my favorite match-up. I think it is pretty clear who is favoring who in this thread and honestly, I am impressed to hear that MBA might put up a good fight this year after watching last year's dual (I mean didn't Father Ryan take 2nd place at McCallie?) And I guess MBA did slip up and beat Ensworth and BA (BA was looking really tough early in the year). I also might add that it does make me nervous that MBA fans aren't all over this thread like they usually are. So, i guess my competitive side gets the better of me this time. It would really be a phenomenal feat for MBA to make such a big turn around in just one year, plus i can't help cheering for the younger brother. Needless to say, I think something big is cooking in Nashville and I will definitely be watching it on the internet again.

Then did Wright weigh-in light against Creagan? If he did then what he did was more of a defeat than I alread thought it was. If he weighed the same then my opinion still is very high of Wright.

Congratulations to Wright. A good win for you. I am suprised we haven't heard more from the Bayou Bear or any Bradley faithful about this match. Just wanted to hear what they thought. Must have been a good one.

If Wright wrestled at 171 against Arlington how is he going to be able to wrestle 152 at Ryan? I think all this speculation of a Wright and Felix match is way off. It doesn't look like Wright can make the drop to 152 now. He has gotten to big.

Will Simpson at MBA wrestle this year? I haven't heard anything about him wrestling this year, but people keep talking about him. I don't get it. Why hasn't he wrestled yet?

I don't think these rankings really mean much except they get people talking. I don't have any problem with them at all. Even is your kid is undefeated and pinned Dan Gable and still not ranked. Who cares. Now on the other hand, If these rankings are being used as some kind of criteria for seeding purposes for tournaments, well then I have a problem. I hope you see where I am coming from.

I think that if Coach G was still coaching he may not be having the problems with the Smyrna team as the new coach is now. People just didn't get how much Coach G worked with the boys not only on the mat but with them as students and helped them become good men. I sure hope the new coach isn't running these good wrestlers off. I don't recall Coach G having these kinds of problems in the past. I think I will start a petition to bring Coach G back. I don't want to run off the new coach, just think he needs Coach G's help. Congratulations to the Symrna Bulldog football team. I hope this does't go to the coaches head now.

Hamm Being an avid follower of college wrestling I agreed with Dragon Fly on his assesment of ranking freshmen this early. Then I saw your comment of how they do rank freshmen. It puzzled me. I just looked at my Oct 12 issue of Amateur Wrestling News and on page 16 it states , AWN will continue their policy of not ranking freshmen or junior college transfers in the initial rankings. I guess Dragon Fly was right. I to remember the Moco's and Schlatter's and they weren't ranked at the beginning either until they actually defeated caliber wrestlers. I do thank you for the time you put into the rankings and hope you continue.

Dont forget about the Fighting Irish. They will suprise many folks this year.i think they will upset some one and find their way to the finals.

be careful mtnrasslin, or they (DI) will force us out of DII because they don't like our tournament!!!!! What will they want next? Maybe they will want all of us in DII to quit wrestling all together. Isn't if funny how they forced us out and they still don't like us. Dang I need to go get a bloody mary. CBG, if I recall, I believe there is a club in Nashville called Southside something or other. I believe all the Simpson's and Dunning's wrestled for that club. Is that club still in existence?

At the local Irish water pond last night, it was brought to my attention that MBA placed all 14 wrestlers in the state tournament this past weekend. As an Irish supporter I was shocked! Is this a state record? I am curious to know if anyone out there knows. However, I am glad for my Irish this weekend (purple irish). I think they fought hard and did well.
