lol ive been there the last two days and have seen a lot of high school coaches that doesnt help any

not knocking melrose but I dont think they even played all that hard. it was too easy. a lot of people in rutherford county get mad at me when I see the boys basketball up here is not as good they think. when you get beat by almost 30 and the winning team only has 1 player in double figures something is not right...

20 appearance is a great accomplishment. not trying to take anything away from them(Im a chattanooga guy i wanted them to ace tyner for the title). but still not winning the gold has to be disappointing. I know they have good players and a very good coach. maybe howard does need to start traveling out of the city so they can get battle tested

This was a senior lead team with 6 in and out of the line up every game. Jaclissa was the leader and her on and off the floor leadership will be hard to replace. First team will have only one spot to fill as Olivia and Ty are battle tested. Maybe one or two of the 5 juniors that rode the pine will step it up this off season and make a showing their senior year, that would be good but after this year you have to factor in the possibility of a top notch transfer or two. Don't forget every one likes a winner! GO LADY WARRIORS 2007' 2010' State Champions would you say 6 seniors led this team. I only remember 3 playing consistent minutes

It doesn't if it doesn't matter if you don't care if the 8 very best teams there.... Just like you I would love to see the best 8 teams in the state make it to the tournament and have the two best teams playing for the title i just know thats a pipe dream and it wont happen ,and with so many schools its virtually impossible to make happen. I honestly think the only way to fairly seed the teams would be to use a strength + success ranking but once again the geniuses that run T$$AA arent smart enough to do that

how manypeople thought that Manassas, Fulton, and White Station would win in their respective classes last year? I personally thought Fulton and White Station would win and figured it would be a toss up between Manassas and humbuldt for single A. so basically the favorites won so what really is the problem?

Do you think the best 8 teams are in the state tournament this week ?? are the best 65 teams in the NCAA tournament? are the best 16 teams in the nba playoffs each year? are the best 8 teams in the mlb playoffs each year? no unfortunately sometimes good teams get left out. it is what it is in a perfect world the best teams would always be in the playoffs/tournament but unfortunately we dont live in a perfect world. The cream will rise to the top. I guarantee you if we took a poll and ranked the teams from each class the 8th place team willnot win the title in each class, and even if they did that would make for a great story.

or we can just leave it alone. peopel are making this bigger than it really is you make it to the state tournament and everbody has the same rules you have to win 3 games to get the gold ball point blank period. ultimately does it matte "when the two best teams meet" yes last year we would have loved to see manassas and humboldt in the finals but we didnt. the best team on that day won. the only people imo tha have a gripe are the AA schools that play on thursday instead of wednesday. now if TSSAA ever decides to seed the teams then my suggestion would be to pay CoachT and use his strength + success ranking plus the AP should keep doing ranking all the way up until the substate and factor that in as well

If this must be done then T$$AA should just pay CoachT and use his strength + success rankings as part of the formula to seed teams...... or we can just shut up about it and enjoy the tournament as is.

true. Im not from Rutherford county so I like the idea of multiple middle schools and high schools. that way you really find out who can play and who can coach. Not taking anything away from ron couey but when Central was the only middle school, how much coaching did he have to do. LOL at the Blackman comment. I hope Kyle Turnham lands on his feet he really does know a lot about the x's and o's of basketball

I wouldnt go as far to say they have been depleted since 04-05 Central has won 3 state sectionals a runner up and at least two semi finals appearances. SOme of the best from the county have still come from there. Craig and Odom were mentioned Gooch came from Siegel and a lot of other kids who quit and focused on football

Again if those school sare not in the TMSAA then that may very well be the case. if they are TMSAA they had to have been assistant for 5 years before being a non faulty head coach. just like in high school. Middle schools that are under TMSAA follow the same rules as high schools when it comes to this. Look at Rutherford County for example. All of the basketball coaches in Rutherford COunty teach in their respective schools

Ok lets be hreal here. anything is possible, this is the state tournament. Siegel is good and very talented, probably one of the most talented teams in Middle TN. on the flip side Melrose is not just talented they aare loaded. I would not compare anymetro school no matter how good to any of the better schools from memphis( very unfair comparision ). I also wish some Siegel fan would stop acting like they invented basketball. remember there hasnt beena state champion boys team from Rutherford County since 1975( thats a long time) With that being said melrose is not goin got totally dismantle Siegel but they will win Melrose 65 Siegel 52
