  1. Mr. Patton, shootfirst is not going to be at the scorer's table tomorrow is he?
  2. What a relief...thanks BayouBear trueblueraiderfan - good luck with that
  3. Congratulations Matt, that's a big deal. I look forward to seeing round two!
  4. I didn??™t see any problem with the officiating, and I was sitting at the scorer??™s table (2 inches from the mat). I didn??™t see any biting either (good grief). I did see a very energized Blue Raider team whip the crap out of the Owls. The Raiders came ready to fight, while about half of our guys looked like they needed a nap. Congratulations Heath, Raider wrestlers, and Raider fans.

  6. From the Chattanooga Times Free Press today: Wrestling Mocs reach 11th in recent poll!!
  7. That's great news. Congratulations Mikey!
  8. Actually, the first of five or six match ups this season could be Tuesday night at Red Bank.
  9. I'll second that. Mr. Patton, update us when you can with regard to Josh's progress. Look forward to seeing you guys on December 7.
  10. 2007 Keith Johnson Invitational at Ooltewah High School Saturday, December 1, 9:00 start Bolton Brentwood Chattanooga Central Cookeville Cumberland County Dickson County East Ridge Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (GA) Ooltewah Red Bank Ridgeland (GA) Science Hill Soddy Daisy St. Andrews Sewanee Tullahoma Warren County JV Tournament is Friday, November 30
  11. werazzlin, could you re-run the numbers for beastem17; maybe the 103 absence gives him the victory that he's after. Otherwise, maybe he can find another hole to share.
  12. Glad to help you if I can. Send me an email with your telephone number and a good time for me to call. Tim Young youngtim@comcast.net
  13. From the Sunday, November 18 issue: 1. Bradley 2. Baylor 3. Soddy-Daisy 4. Ooltewah 5. LaFayette Others receiving votes: Cleveland, McCallie, Notre Dame, Red Bank We (Ooltewah) may have a harder time getting out of our region than some on this board have suggested!
  14. Yeah...it's weird...the top wrestlers are from D2, and the smarter students are from D1 (i.e. Columbia, Princeton, etc.).
  15. Hello Charlie, we are not going to McCallie this year...we are going to the Bradley Invitational. Are you going to the Slamfest in Clarksville on 12/8? If not, I guess we will see you at the State Duals if both teams qualify again. Good luck this season.
  16. Bold projections for a team that, to my knowledge, has never won a Regional Championship! BCB, we lost Nicholson, Stephens, Horner, and Walden (who was not in that particular line up). So more than 11 are not still around...the bet is still on.
  17. Ooltewah will be there...on 12/8. Have we planned our trip too early?
  18. High School wrestling is different (harder) than Middle School. But I agree with Raider76 on this one. The kids mentioned (Watson, Hooker, Gardener, and there are others) can go with anybody in High School - DI, DII, TN, GA, AL, etc.
  19. same ole, same ole all of us chasing Soddy Daisy and Notre Dame!
  20. Thanks for the post, Hamm. That's pretty solid. Congratulations to the young Mocs! Wrestlers from the SECs Auburn, Georgia, Florida...was Title IV revoked? BCB, I thought I was in the circle of trust. Why don't you tell me these things?
  21. Senior Spencer Manley wins his 149 pound match in the annual Blue / Gold exhibition wrestling match at the Naval Academy. Congratulations Spencer! Good luck this season.
  22. Swami's system wouldn't work though Coach. You'd have people saying that the 'assignment process' wasn't fair. Think about it though...if the playing field really was level, none of us would watch or play sports...every competition would end in a tie...
  23. The persistent search for equity is called socialism...for more on that, watch Hillary's next debate.
  24. I thought the same thing; a model for RMC's theory!
  25. Bayou Bear makes a good argument for moving the State Duals to Chattanooga. I agree that attendance should be among the most important considerations for the location of the State Duals tournament. More fans create more excitement, and I can’t think of anything that could contribute more to wrestling growth and popularity. SuperZ, I read and appreciate your post. I also appreciate the work done for the tournament this year by all of the Clarksville boosters who donated considerable time to the event. Please help me, however, to better understand the position that you have communicated. I sense that increasing parity among the state’s wrestling programs is your priority. If I have “connected the dots” properly, you make the implication that a program is successful in direct proportion to their proximity to the State Duals. If you’re right, and you have the goal of parity, then should you not argue that we move the tournament to one of the weaker regions in the state. After all, Clarksville High School has a very solid, proven program (i.e. a good facility, a strong team, and very good booster support), and hence, does not need any additional help from the tournament’s venue. And yet, you express a seemingly sincere interest in keeping the tournament in Clarksville. Have I misunderstood? I am still relatively new as a fan to high school wrestling, and it seems really odd to me that we have the State Duals at the facility of one of the competing high schools (as opposed to a neutral site). I suspect that Clarksville’s very large gym and “center of the state” location made sense when the site was chosen many years ago. If the reason for the Clarksville site for the Duals is more complex than that, someone please enlighten me. One final thought, I think that the $8.00 admission is a bargain. Since this is a once a year event that is huge to wrestling, wouldn’t fans pay more if the venue were changed to a site that was not ‘free’?
