Coach Majors and Barnes would do an excellent job and would be an excellent addition to the Central High School Athletic program (any HS program for that matter). However, lets take a second and examine JD's credentials. Assistant @ Jefferson County under the very well respected Rick Sinard Short time head coach @JCHS (caught up in smalltown politics and was released) Assistant @ Walter State CC in one of the best junior college women's BB programs on this side of the country Head coach of the Central girls team (overachieved in my opinion) SUMMARY: Studied and worked under quality coaches, stood up for what he thought was right, had a team that reached their potential, and is already familiar with Central High School and their people. Coach Allen has built a nice foundation for whoever the next coach is to build upon. It sounds like their are alot of qualified coaches for the administration to choose from. Is there anyone who is not from the Knoxville area applying? When are they looking to make a decision?

Apology Accepted. I don't know the Heritage or Oak Ridge coaching staffs but even if that did happen that does not need to be posted on a message board by another coach. (Just my opinion.) All you coaches spend alot of time doing a selfless job that is so open to criticism from unqualified people. You all deserve alot of credit. Good Luck

What if a coach from a school with football tradition (Dobyns-Bennett, Sevier County, Oak Ridge, Maryville) got on this message board and made a statement such as that? CHSBBFAN, I have one question for you? If you have a daughter who has a chance to play college basketball, which Anderson County school would you send her to? DingDingDing... Thats right Oak Ridge Coach Prudden has a PROGRAM, this program does all of her recruiting for her. Best coaching, national competition, turning girls into young ladies,etc.... The posts in this thread may be the worst that I have ever seen. Lee Humphrey is the best player in east tennessee and then there is everyone else. Jerel and Tremon are tremendous but they are not in the same league with Lee. He is the best player playing on the best team. Remember, He is going to FLORIDA. Top 5 team in the country...

Mocs30, I was wrong. Not going to make any excuses. Really wasn't even close. None of the 3 things that I predicted happened. So what I am about to say next may help ease your mind about tomorrow night's game. I think this will be a wonderful game to watch, maybe the best one Tuesday night. However, I am still going to have to take the Bearden in a close one. To take it one step further, Bearden WILL make it to the finals of the region. Wow, what a prediction. I agree. Who sets up the tournament brackets? How can the #1 seed play at 9:00 on a school night? The highest seed should be given every advantage when it comes to game times. These small things should NOT be overlooked.

And as for his popularity, that is irrelevant and should not be discussed on this board. I do not know him but did get to see him play several times in high school and he can play the game. How big of a game is this? Chances are very high that these same 2 teams could meet again for the region title. The only team that would have a chance against either would be Loudon. Clinton is the team to beat at this moment. Why? Let me explain. Survived a tough game last night. Powell and OR are reeling. Powell has lost their last 2 and not played in a week. OR got blasted at Bradley County and also has not played in a week. Neither of these teams will see the finals. With all of their players a healthy Clinton team will defeat Karns in the finals in a close one. Girls Side: OR and everyone else battling for second. Boys Side will be Rockwood / Harriman. Do not believe Wartburg can beat Rockwood 2x. The Tigers will be ready. As for predictions I believe when two teams are this even you have to go with the home team.

Did Darren Payne have a better year than Gallahar? I believe this award should not be based on a career or potential. Which team would be better without each player? It would be Rockwood in my opinion. Preston is a tremendous player but Darren Payne had the better year and his team won the regular season championship. Congrats to both players and teams on tremendous seasons.

Redrage, What level do/did you coach at?? I am positive it was not high school b/c there cannot be a High School coach that would get on here and say something like that about one of his peers. Coaching is an incredibly tough profession because EVERYONE has an opinion when it comes to sports. Some people are qualified and others are not, but everyone can voice their opinion. Coach Green is an outstanding young coach so if he did make a mistake lets give him another chance to make it right.
