Wow, that was the most awful thing i've ever seen... for THS that is... Maryville dominated that game from start to finish... What happened to that thread about "THS state champions" oh yeah it doesn't matter because now it's fictional... whatever region they're from, it's the most awful section of football i've ever heard of... lets move on the melrose, maybe they're team is actually worth mentioning...

Maryville's defense.... they're very sound on D... The Line doesnt usually allow any quarterback to rest for a long time, normally most QB's are fleeing for their lives... however against Powell they're quarterback was very successful running out of the pocket... Coach Gaylor's Linebackers (Parnell, Valentine, Kimsey) are always mixing up their blitzes, and making their victim's pay... Maryville has a very fearful quality of allowing the big play at times... If they can stop the big play they'll destroy THS... It's a rare thing when teams drive against Maryville... However THS some speedy playmakers but i see Maryville's D sticking this one out to win.. ya know i'd probably be sick of the maryville fans as well if my team lost to them year after year. I'm in agreement with the post that maryville fans dont give enough support anymore because they're just used to winning. I was very dissappointed with the student body turn out and the ones that did show up, had no support with the exception of the one's on the front line. I'm not sure if they're aware a football game is going on. Maryville's fans play a big role in play off games... Is Winning homefield advantage an advantage anymore?? Maryville will need to stop Helton Friday night, Maryville cant allow Central to run all over them like Powell did. However, Maryville's defense will step up this friday and maryville will prevail. Guys... Maryville isn't going to make any mistakes... Football at MHS is like business. The focus isn't lost and these seniors remember very well what happened last year in the play offs. I remember the feeling of getting beat that saturday, I remember the wet field, the cold air, and the horrible pain of going home for the first time without a ring. Maryville will dominate this game. Powell, Central, Tennessee High, and whoever meets maryville at state is going to play a maryville team full of emotion. These seniors are only granted one more game, and if you think they're going to overlook this powell team then you're a fool. Powell may be a good team, but when a good team plays a great team... the outcome will be the same as it was the last time these two teams faced off. These Kittens will prove just as much of a challenge as they were the first time around... I cant wait till Friday night though, the play offs is what it's all about!

Are you honestly arguing that you guys "almost had us" in the 1st quarter? for 1...we were winning.... 2... last time i checked games have 4 quarters and if the game was to continue on that pace.... it wud have been 28-0 but it wasn't it got worse... If you take sense in pride that furing 1 quarter of play you held the score to 7-0, well... congrats... you did it!

Why do I get the feeling that if we played this game on turf... you die hard central fans wud still say the field is watered down. The rebels must have had those water resistance shoes on too so that the field didn't effect them.... You all "CoachTjunkie, and newman" are the poster boys for stupidity

I dont even have to post anything and you get riled up and try to invent new stories for your fictional world. First your son who "get's trampled on" b/c he's on the ground for the better half of the game. Now you are trying to implicate that I am on the same emotional level that your son is physically.. that of a baby... The world isn't one sided by any means. Not even the Maryville/Central game was one sided, Central did score a few points... But the fact of the matter remains, that Central got destroyed and you have nothing better to do but whine about your son getting stepped on... Get over it and find another thread to cry in...

I've gotta say Maryville, but most of that opinion is based on them being my team. However, Tennessee High really hasn't played anyone that tough yet. So as of right now, I'd say Maryville has the upper hand.

Whoever started this thread... It's not a bad thought, but Riverdale is an extremely talented team... As much as I love Maryville Football, I'm not so sure they would stand toe to toe with Riverdale. Maybe GQ cud pull a rabbit out of his hat but fortunately for us, we dont have to play them! And Tennessee High needs to do some proving before they start talk of state championships... Who have they played this year?? Exactly, no one! no doubt they are a good team, but we'll see how well they do come playoff time. And if maryville does play them, it'll be in the 4th round of the play offs, not the third.

You all are hilarious... Bobcat or whatever your name is, Raider is right, you need to get over your son, because what you see isn't what everyone else see's. Umm...whoever that guy was that threatened to beat up rebelraider...Honestly, you think those football players dont want him, or any other of those fans up there, then it appears to me you've never participated in an athletic event. Every player on that team wants him and all his buddies up there. And I also guarantee you that if you or anyone else comes to fight him, those football players that "dont even care" will be the first to find you. You all need to quit whining and in this case, trying to threaten someone with physical violence to make up for the frustrations of your losing team. If I was cheering for a circus midget that was getting beat 56 - 10 , I'd say some insane things too. But regardless, Central.. you guys need to find your threads about your team. You know, i think that if a player was intentionally jumping up and down on someone's leg, it would be hard to miss. Now if a player was fired up and jumped up out of a pile and your son was still on the ground.... Then maybe he may have came down on his leg. Now if i was cheering for a team that was getting beat so severely, my mind might believe that to be an unjust play as well. But ya know... I doubt it! Quit whining for your son, maryville is the most congratulated sportsmanship team in the county, they didn't get that overnight.

Wow, this game got out of hand fast... I'm a huge rebel fan, and i firmly believe Maryville will destroy all in it's path. But with all the hype about Central I thought it would be more of a game, but i guess it was just that, hype in the end. And BigCat, if you can name one time when a maryville guy took a cheap shot, point it out, I can guarantee that they didn't. GQ wont even let the maryville student section be to unclassy and all we do is yell. Now if you wud like examples of Central's cheap shots just look at Jimmy Wallace or A.B. Regardless though Central's only hope in this one was for them to force Maryville to beat themselves. Well the got beat by Maryville, and DESTROYED by themselves. How many turnovers were there? However many, you cant give it up that many times and even hope to be in the game with a team like Maryville.

Maryville is not athletic??? Sorry if I'm mistaken, but then who are Stephen Childs, Andrew Clement, Cade Thompson, Ryan Tallent, Antonio Byner???? The list can go on but everyone besides you already knows the list, either because they're fans or they've had time to read the back of the jersey as they ran for the score. Do they offer spelling over at Central? I forgot to mention in my last post but what spanking did Mo-West deliver last year, they won by 3 in OT. Maryville turned it over 7 times... That's Maryville beating themselves and they almost won regardless. The only thing Central's going to start is Maryville's winning record against Central going into double digits.

So maryville fans are giving reasons why maryville will win, and central fans are calling them stupid but yet not giving any reasons to why they are... so basically... central thinks they'll win, but yet has no reason to why that is.... Well here's a reason for that, they have nothing to say, because they dont want what happened last year to happen again... Central vs. Maryville... the constant clash that is turning into one of the best rivalries in the state... I look forward to this game and I'll make the perdiction that GQ will find a way to win, Maryville 38 - Central 21. This game will depend on the play of maryville's defense. The offense will produce points for maryville, that's a certainty. But the defense will have to step it up and play well against a firey central team. Central's O line will not be able to stop the pressure from maryville's front 4 but i dont think that maryville's front 4 will be able to catch helton after he scrambles out of the pocket. Maryville's corners will have to do a good job containing the quarterback scrambles and the safeties will need to step it up in the secondary when this happens to prevent helton throwing on the run. However Helton has never proved to be a clutch performer and has often faultered in the big games. But i certainly have faith in maryville for this one. They'll be fired up and ready to play and step up for the big game like they always seem to do~ look at their track record for big games...
