    AAA v. A/AA

That can usually change from year to year. I remember some years when I played club when Memphis would dominate, but I agree that Middle Tennessee has been strong lately. On the subject of the gap between AAA and A/AA, I think that A/AA is a little bit closer this year because they have some really talented teams, but AAA is usually stronger year in and year out because they have so many players to choose from while some A/AA teams don't even have to make cuts and take whoever tries out. The top teams from each division might be close, but after that I would say AAA is definitely stronger.
  2. Oooh ok. Thanks for clarifying that. I was a little bit confused that there was a top 5 team I had never heard about.
  3. Where is Overton? I've only seen mostly teams from A/AA or teams in the East play, so I don't really know a lot about other teams.
  4. It should be a very close game. I'm gonna call a 1-1 tie.
  5. After playing both teams already, I would have to call Farragut winning 3-1.
  6. Yes, it should be a good match and should be fun to play in. I'm looking forward to it.
  7. I agree, CAK has a strong senior class this year. Catholic also has a strong class with Joey Pierce and Doug Hall and Webb has Logan Threadgill. I think McMinn also has some good seniors, but I haven't seen them play yet.
  8. I don't think that Bearden is a "mediocre varsity squad", they're just not as strong of a team as they have been in the past. Just because they have a few bad games or even a bad season doesn't make a team bad. Talent levels and success of teams fluctuate and its not fair to label a team as mediocre when they have been very successful in the recent past. Every team has down years. With that said, I believe CAK's JV team is doing an excellent job this year (this is the first year CAK has had a JV team). I don't know how they finished against Catholic's JV tonight, but they have worked hard and had fun at the same time. For a small school, CAK's JV is pretty good.
  9. Yes, both teams played very hard and clean soccer. It was a great game to play in, though not as exciting to watch I'm sure because there wasn't much goalscoring action. I look forward to these two teams hopefully meeting later in the season and I think that, if there wasn't a major one already, a rivalry has been formed.
  10. Well said. That's exactly what I was thinking. The competition and team unity make high school soccer fun for me.
  11. What position does Stein play now?
  12. I think you are completely wrong. JV helps build players' skills and prepares them for the Varsity team in the future. They may not be as fun to watch or play against, but a lot of them play just to enjoy the game, which is why everyone should be playing in the first place. I know of a few JV teams that could probably beat Varsity teams.
  13. Wow, like all eleven of them? That's a pretty harsh punishment.
  14. When and where is the game? I'd really like to see this one if I can.
  15. Hey, so do I! I second BigG's welcome. Looking forward to the game Friday and I am looking forward to watching the JV teams play also. How's Catholic's JV?
  16. Who scored for Farragut?
  17. I think the game could go either way, but Farragut should come out on top. Brian Walker and the Bearden defense will be hard to score on, but I believe Farragut's forwards are capable of scoring against any team they play. Good luck to both teams.

    Best Coach

That kind of sounds like you are talking about the "shady reffing" after you said you wouldn't. But oh well, I didn't get to see that game and I know from personal experience that reffing can change a game's outcome occasionally, but everyone makes mistakes once in a while. I agree with govols14 and lcsoccer on the best coach subject.
  19. Even if Brandon would have been there for the Farragut game last year, I think CAK would have still lost because Farragut played one of the best games of soccer I have seen from a high school team in recent years. They played at a really fast pace and all of their touches were very controlled. But I believe CAK's only goal was a beautiful one; Sam Ferguson put a PK upper 90 near the end of the game. Sorry for the off topic post...
  20. I know a few of their better players that I have played club with in the past that are juniors this year and probably play in the back. They have Logan Threadgill too, who is a very talented player, that probably plays midfield or forward.
  21. Having already played both teams, I would have to predict Farragut winning 2-1.
  22. How about Mark Sherrod from Carter? I heard he is playing well and is one of the top scorers in Eastern Tennessee.
  23. I'm gonna say Webb 2-1.
  24. Wow, evidently some bitter feelings after this tournament this past weekend. But that is in the past, so why doesn't everyone forget about it, move on, and enjoy the game of soccer? Let your play on the field speak for you, not meaningless trash talk on an internet web site. Remember that actions speak louder than words.
