in my opinion the only thing wartburg has to concentrate on is not letting the atmosphere get to them....if they focus on it as another basketball game they will do good....humboldt has size and speed....so do we so its all good...just focus on the game boys and not the atmosphere...i know the guys have seen crazy crowds because ive been a part of them forever good luck

Dj is scoring alot of points but thats what he does...he needs to start putting a little more effort into defense then he would be the complete ball player...good in the paint...dangerous from long range ... Wartburg will pressure you to death and they have the speed and depth to do it...winstead is a true post..i look for him to have alot of boards...and a few points..travis is takin the ball to the rim better and he still is a long range threat when hes on....caleb is a quick shooter that can drive in and force the foul or step back from the arc and still make basket....anthony rogers played a heck of a game the other night and i hope to see him do it agian....we have some power and speed off the bench aswell...josh kid jordan hamby and griffith are good players itll be a great game hopefully ..........ill give both teams a 7 point spread Another point is that this is the first time ever for the boys to go to state...that could have some affect...and i dont think the dawgs will let the win over University go to their heads

id like to know who the basketball and baseball players are....and i know of one person that is at coalfield now that was furnished with a place to stay in the city so hed be able to play ball...and i know this for a FACT

lol man you know all of those transfers are recruited for football and they dont want any more people to bump them up to 2A football...Oliver springs gave them all they wanted last year and they hate 2A football...so lets be honest because we know in the days of kries they have recruited since day one....look at the roster...only a handful of them are actually from the coalfield/petros-joyner area...its insane that anyone lets this BS go on but hey cheat to win i guess...different strokes for different folks' id feel better personally winning a legit ball game than knowing i would roll over everyone because we cheated..

ok for all of you who are oblivious to how bad cumberland gap stinks...they stunk really bad and coalfield isnt lookin as good as they did last year...brandon davis has slowed down...and their latest RECRUIT(Melton) is catching some good passed..but when you have a quarterback who takes 3 steps back and throws it up for grabs i could play wide out and im 6'5 260...johnny hill stinks....steven gunter gets upset because johnny stinks and cant get him the ball and barndon slowed down...so im guessing if coalfield dont get some "transfers" (RECRIUTS) then they may be in bad shape later in the season....and as for the ###### poor effort we at wartburg gave friday aginst the indians the is not telling...it all depends on the week in practice...well see...all i know is that wartburg is tired of loseing and some big changes are being made this week and we shall see if it helps any at all....it could be a close one who knows

put it like this...when alcoa has the talent to play 3-4A ball..and they fix the enrollment to play 2 A they should be bumped up

heres an update...the strongest of the linemen will be waylon niner allan bunch and the hamby boys..jordan will play tight end on offense and defensive end/LB on defense waylon and allan will both be playing both sides of the ball on either line...waylon and jordan are both benching in the 320's and derrick and allan are throwing up 300...all of them have got alot stronger and are ready to get things started ..waylon and allen have the size of the team and the rest of them are smaller but also quick.. speed will be a big part of everything we do this year

as long as OZ keeps the refs on thier side like they did aginst wartburg then they will be good no matter who thay play

i did play mostly offense this year because of some personel changes and as far as defense goes ..defense is my ball game but alleb stpeed up last year..it will be more interesting this season because of me and allen both having to play both sides of the ball...we will be small other than me and allen but with being small also mean that youll have speed and thats somethin we didnt have much of last year and we will see how that plays in this years defense

as a member of the team and seeing both of these players lift and play..as far as speed, quickness, and hitting, waylon niner is the stronger player...he benches more than Allen but Allen is working hard and improving as long as he get his footwork and timing down they should both be big factors in the bulldog offense as well as on the D-line...we will see what happens this spring they like to play off of each other and push each other they will work well together

even if they could play with alcoa...the game would go to whoever the refs wanted it to...loudon plays dirtier than i have ever played aginst before...so im sayin if the could...but they cant play with alcoa...theyd still lose

i seriously doubt that they stopped him at all ....he isnt going all out aanyway..hes tryin to finiish this year healthy...hes goin to a SEC school next year...he cant go if hes hurt

sweetwater is just used to getting the calls to go their way....he didnt get it...you need to stink it up and go on

ok first of all if you think this guy is the best in east tennessee my first reaction is to laugh at you...if it is the guy #44 and plays MLB...then you have to be crazy...he can get away from arm tackles but with a solid hit hes goin no where...and while i played TE aginst him he was eaisly blocked allowing seth george to run for a big gain.....Seth George (when healthy) can run around,over, and through people..he dropped 50+ pounds and cut his 40 time down from 5.0 to 4.7 he can move and plays everything...kick/punt returner....LB/FB..and sometimes wingback...hands down one of the hardest runners at full back in east tn.

nobody is givin wartburg any credit at all...no credit to OS either...i had to give it to them last year when we played them we had to fight for 4 quarters...was a good game...with the new additions to the schedule i dont know alot about loudon or CAK except that CAK has a good passing game...we weill have to work hard in the secondary for that game...but i believe that the dogs from wartburg have a chance to be the surprise team of the season for some... 1. Alcoa..(unless they start there freshman the last half of the season) 2.Rockwood/Sweetwater/Wartburg 3.Rockwood/Sweetwater/Wartburg 4.O.S./Loudon/Cak 5.O.S./Loudon/Cak 6.Who knows about this spot..i would bet on cak or loudon because they have never been in this region...and its the toughest AA region in the state ..but you never know how its gunna go..We Will See

well im from wartburg and we played them last friday...we are in their region but i just dont under stand how the beat sweetwater unless sweetwater just laid there and took a beating ...which i dont think they would do....when we played them they were nuthin special...they run the same things over and over counter trey left and counter trey right power right and power left you kow where the ball is going by watching number 1 go in motion and where he stops..our first defensive series stoppped every thing they ran but after that our offensive turn overs killed us how they are number one in the state i dont know but hey you cant change the rankings now they already have the region title...but the the only thing i didnt like about alcoa was the cheap shots every time they got a chance....if you have to cheat to when then you gotta do what you gotta do

well theres this boy named seth george..hes like a bulldozer at fullback..i ran through the line a few times and got up regretting it..almost did a back flip and i lost my helment hes a beast i dont care who you say...line up aginst this guy..and wake up regretting it

well nick barnes from wartburg isnt bad at all neither is trey wilson...have 4 years to get nuthin but better so i cant wait to see how good they end up

man hardest hitter gotta go to my man seth george...OL gibson has it covered with the rest close behind him...Wartburg has a lot of freshman talent comin up...lots to work with and in a few more years Wartburg will dominate like always
