  1. Cheatham is super young this year, and we are just glad to be here. I know that before the season if you would have offered the coaching staff 5-5 and in the playoffs they would have took it in a minute. Jackson South Side is a great team on a great run this year. I don't know if they can beat Crockett or Lipscomb, but they are definately heavily favored over Cheatham this week. Good luck to both teams, I just hope whoever wins does it with no injuries this week.
  2. I don't know what to say. I really don't. I love Greenfield football, because I was part of some good teams there from 98-01. However, I just don't know what has happened at Greenfield or at South Fulton. I can't even comprehend how Gleason beats both of these teams in the same year for two years in a row!!!! I spent all of my high school life hating South Fulton, but now I can't help but feel sorry for them too almost. Both are sad situations, and I don't even know what to say, much less who I think will win this game. Does it even matter who wins??? They are only proving who is the worst team in west tn outside of middleton. I don't know...Go jackets... I guess?
  3. I believe that Cheatham will win this game, but it will be a struggle. Cheatham can score, but their defense at times has been terrible. So I don't think 14-10 is a realistic number. I think something more like 34-28 is a closer score or something like that. Good luck to both teams, I just hope everyone stays injury free.
  4. Nice made up number there coachjohn. Notre Dame doesn't even get close to graduating 98% of scholarship football players. Nice try though. They are a good school, and do graduate more than ut, but not that many!!!
  5. Congrats to Rogan for signing with the best football tradition in the Nation. What high school is he from? I don't know much about him, I've been following Donald, but that's great news. Go Vols
  6. Yeah, I think you are right on target with these four teams. Cheatham has to get past Spring Hill this week though, but if they do then it will be Cheatham and Creek Wood battling for the third spot.
  7. What happened to that tail back that carried the ball against giles and lipscomb. He hasn't had any numbers recently like he did in that game. I can't remember his number, but a Spring Hill fan probably knows who I am talking about. He played tail back. Is he injured or playing a different position or what?
  8. I was wondering how Spring Hill played Giles so close, and looked pretty good gets beat by Marshall County. Marshall isn't very good, and they have terrible effort and technique. Did Spring Hill play bad against Marshall or what?
  9. Is Gower the tall white kid that plays qb? Just trying to learn some names.
  10. Greenfield vs. South Fulton is a big rivalry. These two teams have fallen from grace a bit, but I know both teams dislike each other. My father graduated from Greenfield in 75, and he still likes to see South Fulton lose to whoever they play. Now these teams play to prove the other team is worse, not really who is better. Hopefully they will both come back around in the future.
  11. Vandy 1 I think that was a good post you made with lots of good points. However, I can't fully agree with you on the point of if it turns into a slug fest then Greenbrier will win because they are more physical. Cheatham can be very physical too. That is what they talk about all the time at Cheatham is being tough. Greenbrier may be a little bigger in most positions this year, but I don't know how much tougher they are. I think Cheatham can swap blows with a lot of people, they just get out athleted sometimes. It should be a great game Friday night, and the winner will probably win by 8 or less whichever way it goes. Good luck to both teams.
  12. Sycamore definately didn't beat Cheatham easily. However, Sycamore did blow a huge lead against Pearl Cohn Easily. Stay on your own threads. And try to finally get in the playoffs Sycamore!!!
  13. It just blows my mind how the old teams of this region have gone to crap...I'm originally from Greenfield, they have struggled for a couple years now, South Fulton is terrible when compared to five or six years ago, and Bruceton has fallen from probably the best public school team in 1A to about the fifth best in the region. It kills me to see these schools struggle so bad. I miss the good old days. Greenfield, South Fulton, and Bruceton fighting for first. Now you could throw Lake County back in there. Lake County was just going through some bad years 5-6 years ago. And now Gleason has really stepped it up from that time till now. I still think Union City and Mckenzie ruin this region. I miss the good old days, but maybe I'm just an old head and want this to go back the way they were and they never will. Oh well.....life stinks and then you die!!!
  14. I know one thing, last week everyone said Sycamore would beat Cheatham by a score of 42-7 or something stupid like that. I think that Cheatham made a statement by making sycamore happy as could be to just win that game. Sycamore got out of there with a two point win, and could have easily got beaten. This is a very young cubs team, which spells bad things for sycamore and everyone else in years to come. Cheatham probably won't win friday night, but I will guarantee they will play hard. That's what they do at Cheatham.
  15. Josh Puckett is new head coach at Cheatham County Central
  16. Boy, let me tell you guys something. I have never even witnessed one of these games ever between these two rivals. One thing I do see however is sycamore fans sure are confident. You guys think this game will be an easy win??? What makes you think that? You may win, but it will be by no more than 14 points. Not 35-7 or anything like that! Good luck to both teams, and make more realistic statements!!!
  17. I think there is no doubt that this region is wide open on 2-4 spots. I think Lipscomb is by far and away the favorite, but there are going to be some upsets and some surprises this year in this region and nobody knows who it will happen to or when it will happen. This thing probably won't be decided until week 10 is in the books.
  18. I enjoy listening to you big county. Keep talking if you want to. I think this will be a close game, but the cubs have to man-up if they want to win. They must run the football. We'll see if they can!
  19. I just figured the biggest game in 1A in the state this week would be a big ones game. Makes sense doesn't it? I don't know just a thought I guess.
  20. Giles County roles in this one! The cubs are too young and I don't think they'll be able to overcome their youth. If Cheatham does win, their coaches and players need a huge pat on the back I think!
  21. Both of these programs have seen better days there is no doubt about that. Both are trying very hard to be the best that they can be. I know that the people in Greenfield are working hard to get better, and I figure the same is going on in Bruceton. I'm gonna go with the upset here and say that Greenfield wins a low scoring game. 14-12. Good luck to both teams.
  22. I have lived in Greenfield my whole life, and Milan is the program that all programs are measured by to everyone in Greenfield. Its not Westview, its not Union City, its not Huntington...even though they are pretty good, its Milan. My dad played Milan...and got beat...in the seventies and he talks about the respect hey had for them then. I am humbled by Milan's tradition, and I don't know of anything that could be that tough that long and still wear purple.
  23. Even though Cheatham is young this year, I wonder why they don't get the respect that they probably should get. They have been one of the best programs in the midstate the past three years, and nobody ever thinks they are going to be any good. I think that Cheatham is outclassed this friday, but what if they do win? What would that mean to all the naysayers?
  24. If you won't say it I will, the winner of this game wins the region. Mckenzie just isn't good enough to beat these teams this year. Mckenzie has a good team don't get me wrong, they just ran into a year when Lake County has the best team it has had in over a decade. The winner of this game wins the region, and I think it will be Lake County, but close...28-27
  25. Cheatham will play hard, but may simply be out classed. Giles should continue their dominance and probably win this game. I hope not, but I think we could be in for a long night Friday. Good luck to both teams.
