  1. Allergic reaction is what I have been told.
  2. Replay showed Reid stayed in bounds, amazing balance.
  3. Between the tackles, Coalfield dominates Union City, but on the edge is a different story.
  4. I think somebody forgot to tell Coalfield that they didn't have a chance!
  5. Off topic technically, but with such a high volume of replies I hope to get a quick answer. What is the parking situation like for the games? I am going tomorrow to watch Webb play (wife's Uncle is a coach there). I was just wondering if parking was free (I know it's highly unlikely) and if not, how much does it cost usually?
  6. Pujo, if this is true, then that's good. Like I was trying to say in the previous post, a tough schedule helps prepare you for the playoffs. Lander obviously took offense to said post.
  7. I believe I hit a nerve. I meant no disrespect, just pointing out that Cloudland hasn't been successful in the playoff. I was only stating my opinion on why this is. You can't sit there and tell me that you believe their region stacks up against Coalfield's or Greenback's. These teams have success because they have tough games every weak minus a few. This in turn prepared them for the playoffs and thus they have success. With that said, it's all a moot point because the east is playing for a silver ball regardless of who made it to the Championship game.
  8. IF you had beaten Coalfield, you would've lost to Greenback. So THAT is what "could've been." Regardless of what Cloudland's record was, Coalfield and Greenback were the two to beat in the East. I'm not trying to take anything away from Cloudland, but they didn't play anybody but Hampton this year and lost. Your region is weak aside from Hampton and next year will be even weaker. Until Cloudland schedules tougher out of conference games to prepare them for the playoffs, then you will see the same results. (While Johnson Co and Happy Valley are bigger schools, they don't compare to Coalfield's and Greenback's out of region schedules.)
  9. Congratulations to Coalfield on making the State Championship! Although your chances of beating Union City are very slim, I will be pulling for you to pull the upset.
  10. I think this game has a chance of being closer than people expect. It all comes down to how well Sunbright can setup their running game to help their passing game.
  11. To answer your question, the answer is they haven't played anybody. Their 5 opponents are a combined 4 and 21 on the season.
  12. I never post in the Private boards but I had to read up more on this incident. I found it interesting in the article in the Tennessean that T$$AA is disciplining the referee also in this, yet still upholding the ejection. In my opinion, you can't have it both ways. Either the referee was right or he was wrong. But that is just my opinion and that doesn't count for much.
  13. Round 2 Quad 1 Coalfield Cloudland Quad 2 South Pitt Fayetteville Quad 3 Nashville Central Wayne Co Quad 4 Union City Humboldt
  14. I take Rockwood in this one 32-28. Rockwood is more battle tested this year compared to Silverdale. Silverdale played one of the weaker schedules in the classification this year and the one decent team they played (Boyd) they lost. Silverdale's instate opponents this year average under 3 wins per team and Hayesville, NC finished 4-6 (I believe) this year as well. So Silverdale has a lot to prove in my opinion, and until they do, I have to pick against them.
  15. Round 1 WInners Quad 1 Oneida Rockwood Quad 2 Goodpasture Marion County Quad 3 Loretto Forrest Quad 4 Peabody Mitchell
  16. Round 1 winners: Quad 1 Sunbright Midway Quad 2 Harriman Gordonsville Quad 3 Jo Byrns Wayne County Quad 4 Bruceton Humboldt
  17. I hope the same also. I won't be able to make it out to the game tonight because of not getting off work in time. But I will be listening. Hope my alma mater can give you guys a good game.
  18. You can listen to it on wecoradio.com.
  19. You have to be careful with Skyler Bunch as well. He is one of the more physical runners in the area, but has the top end speed to outrun a lot of people as well. Sunbright relies heavily on these two players to get there offense going, but be careful not to fall asleep, because they have a group of pretty good receivers to throw to if you load the box. I agree, however, that Sunbright's defense is a little lacking. It is a mere size and depth issue, but they give their all every play.
  20. He was talking about Boyd Buchanan, who finished 4-6 but won the district (there's only 4 football schools in the district). So they played 7 out of district games against pretty stiff competition. So to say they don't "deserve" to play in the playoffs when they were a automatic qualifier is a stretch.
  21. I'm sorry to hear the struggles you guys are having here lately. The game against Coalfield was probably the most dominant game I've seen this year. I wouldn't take Sunbright so lightly. If they get their offense going like it is capable of doing, then this could be a shootout. They struggle on defense a lot, but they have their moments where they look like a good defensive team. Aside from the last two minutes, they shutdown Midway's offense for the second half of their game, but that game didn't turn out the way Sunbright hoped. Total meltdown by all accounts.
  22. Don't count out Sunbright. They may have lost almost everything from last year, but with Maxfield as coach, anything is possible. I look for them to sneak up on a few people this year. Not at the level as last year, but middle of the pack, maybe 4th.
