  1. Looks like Gatewood is now the HC at Red Bank.
  2. Looks like Coach Fitz is staying in Meigs. Red Bank hires Ted Gatewood.
  3. Actually Jawan did play at Rhea and was a starter at Rhea before going to Meigs. He got kicked off the team and got a 2nd chance at Meigs. He made the most of his 2nd chance and I’m proud of him. Now I I get to cheer for him on Saturdays at my Alma Mater. As for Kaleb, if he is leaving best of luck to him.
  4. In the past our middle schools have changed their games to Tuesday or if it’s know well enough in advance they try to schedule around that game.
  5. As a grad of ETSU and former professor of the school. I am ecstatic of the hire. Great coach and a great guy. He is definitely coming into a great situation, the cupboard is definitely not bare, there is some good young talent on the roster. It will be interesting who comes with him on his staff and what current staff members stay. Anybody that is mad about this hire will probably soon forget because winning cures everything and GQ is a winner.
  6. Hearing there is some more renovations coming to Eagle stadium this off season to go along with the indoor practice facility which is under construction.
  7. Out of the East I look for Powell and Rhea to come out of Region 3 & 4 then the winner gets West in the semifinals. If Rhea can find some replacements for the guys that are graduating, which I think they will. Rhea will be back in the quarterfinals at least. Too much talent not to be back to at least the quarterfinals. Depending on who Oak Ridge hires they could also be a contender in Region 3.
  8. It’s Game Day!!! It’s going to be nice and frosty tonight. It will be interesting to see how that plays into it. The one thing on defense for Rhea that I would like to see is creating turnovers. That is something we really haven’t done as much of this year. Outside the game with Campbell Co when we had 4 INTs we really haven’t forced a lot of turnovers in 12 games.
  9. Yeah Alcoa had weeks to prepare and they executed their game plan to near perfection. Elizabethton did a great Job containing the outside runs
  10. That has been Red Bank’s offense for years. Get the ball out in space on short routes and screens and let their talented athletes do the rest. I agree the running backs that they have are legit. The one thing that I noticed when we played them is their lines are not as good this year. However all those guys that graduated are now playing on the next level.
  11. Here we go the 1 seed vs 1 seed. Powell offensively is best team we will play this year. While Rhea’s defense has to regroup after that performance. We better be ready for the pass this week and get plenty of pressure on Potts. The offense for Rhea is clicking right now even with two of our better players injured. We can win in a shootout, like the last few weeks or we can win systematically. We can slow the game down and score 35-42 points and play ball control and wear out the defense. We don’t throw it often, but when we do it usually results in a big play or TD. It’s going to take a complete game on both sides of the ball from here on put. If not we won’t be playing the next week. One thing for Rhea not to get sucked into retaliating. It’s no secret that Powell is not the most disciplined team, but Rhea cant retaliate and run our mouths.
  12. Looking back at last year DeSean only had 184 on us last year with 153 coming on 2 plays. I think DeSean will get his yards this time but with the style Rhea plays I think we can limit the yards under 200 again. Defense is playing pretty good and the offense is clicking. Hopefully Mayberry is not too banged up and we can get Elsea and Robinson back for next week.
  13. Third year in a row we are playing Karns. Just have to slow down bishop next week. I hope we do what we did to them last year.
  14. Ethan Davis 16 carries 192yds so far in the half. He now owns the single season rushing TD and TD record and closing in on the single season rushing record
  15. Miller is a very good QB that can hurt you in different ways. I will say the thing I remember as the game went on and Miller started scrambling out more and started throwing up some forced throws that could have led to interceptions. That maybe something to watch for. I feel mcminn is missing that key guy at WR/TE to help out Miller. The RB is small and shifty, but they don’t really have that deep threat.
  16. Yeah hopefully he stays healthy in the playoffs with the increased workload. I definitely can see Martin running the ball more in the playoffs like he did earlier in the season. I’d like to see more production out of Crowe but I know he’s not been 100%. Pemberton always has something up his sleeve for the playoffs that we haven’t seen during the regular season.
  17. I like how Ethan Davis finished the regular season and I hope we get 5 more performances just like them in the playoffs. In the last two games he rushed for 284 and 252 and 9 rushing TDs plus the 96 yds receiving with a TD for 10 total. Campbell is coming off a loss to Oak Ridge but have had a pretty good season. CJ Allen is a very good running back, that seems like he has been at Campbell for 6 years now. The last time Rhea played Campbell was a 35-0 playoff win back in 2015. Is like to see another win just like it.
  18. Yeah I remember that night well. It’s still the one of the largest of not the largest crowd I have ever seen at Eagle Stadium for a game. It was cold that night. I was in the press box luckily that night where it was alittle warmer but not by much. The one thing I remember is Rhea had 4 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries but could not capitalize on them.
  19. I dont know what we were doing on defense in the 2nd quarter but that can’t happen going forward. I thought we played ok on defense in the 2nd half, but definitely could tight things up.
  20. What a stat line from last night Ethan Davis 29 rushes for 284 yds 4 TDs and 2 catches for 95 yds 1 TD Rhea rolled up 526 yd of offense last night. Both teams combined for 1010yds of offense.
  21. Week 11 Update What a wild week that was and now it comes down to this week, the final week of the regular season. Teams still undefeated None Games to watch Cherokee vs TN High Knox Central vs Knox West Campbell Co vs Oak Ridge Green Hill vs Mt Juliet Hillsboro vs Wilson Central Franklin Co vs Nolensville Portland vs Henry Co Munford vs Memphis Central. *=non region game Region 1 vs Region 2 Region 1 Daniel Boone gets the W against David Crockett for the region 1 championship. There is still one spot still up for grabs in the region. Cherokee can make this playoffs with a win over TN High. With a TN High win they would earn the 3rd seed. MoWest will be at best the 3 seed at worst the 4 seed. Daniel Boone is the 1 seed and Crockett is the 2. Region 2 Knox West had a non-region match up with Maryville, and Maryville did what Maryville does to most teams. Now West has to regroup for the Region Championship against rival Knox Central. Central is coming off a nice win over rival Knox Halls. Sevier Co will take 3rd with a win over Cocke Co. Cocke can still make the playoffs with a win and some help from Maryville Hertiage by bearing Knox Halls. Knox Halls would seal the 4th seed with a win. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Daniel Boone vs Halls Knox Central vs Mo West David Crockett vs Sevier Co Knox West vs TN High Region 3 vs 4 Region 3 Powell and Catholic put on a show in big non-region showdown with Catholic squeezing by Powell. Powell now has a tune-up game against Lenior City before the playoffs begin. Karns sealed the 2nd seed and has Clinton this week. The game to determine the 3rd and 4th seed between Oak Ridge and Campbell Co. Oak Ridge is coming off a tough loss to DB and Campbell is coming off a tough loss to Sevier Co. winner gets 3 seed and a trip to Athens loser gets the 4th seed and a trip to Evensville and the Golden Eagles. Region 4 Rhea Co pulled off one the biggest wins of the year with a thrilling win over previous unbeaten Bradley. Now Rhea has another non-region game against an improved Coffee Co team. McMinn got a nice non-region win against a good Loudon team. Now Mcminn will wrap up region play with Ooltewah. Ooltewah is coming off a 4 overtime win vs Brainerd. Walker Valley is a also wrapping up region play with Howard. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Powell vs Ooltewah McMinn Co vs Campbell Co Karns vs Walker Valley Rhea Co vs Oak Ridge Region 5 vs 6 Region 5 In one of the biggest surprises of the weekend Green Hill just manhandled Station Camp. Green Hill now turns it’s sights on a floundering Mt Juliet. Mt Juliet took a bad loss to Hillsboro. Mt Juliet however can turn things around with a win over Green Hill. With the win Hillsboro now climbs up to the 3rd seed and have a big matchup with Wilson Central. Wilson Central can make the playoffs with a win over Hillsboro on Friday. Hillsboro can seal the 3rd seed with a win. Region 6 Page took its first loss in non region play to Indy. Page is still set to be the 1 seed come playoff time. Page now has Lincoln Co this week. Columbia has cross county rival in Spring Hill. The matchup to watch in the region is between Franklin Co and Nolensville. Winner of this game gets the 3rd and loser gets the 4th seed. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Green Hill vs Franklin Co Columbia vs Mt Juliet Station Camp vs Nolensville Page vs Wilson Central Region 7 vs 8 Region 7 Springfield has all but locked up the region championship with a solid win over Portland. Springfield now looks to finish region play with a bad Northwest team. With the loss Portland tumbles all the way down to the 4th seed. Portland has a chance at redemption with a big game against Henry Co Friday. If Portland and Kenwood win then it will create a 3 way tie between Henry, Portland, and Kenwood. Kenwood would get the tie breaker with the greatest number of victories with 6. Portland would finish 3rd and Henry 4th. Region 8 Memphis Central took a loss to Christian Brothers, but now have Munford waiting in the region championship game on Friday. Munford handled Kingsbury with no problem. Dyer Co gets kingsbury to finish region play. Brighton has Southwind to wrap up region play. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Springfield vs Brighton Munford vs Kenwood Henry Co vs Dyer Co Memphis Central vs Portland
  22. Yeah that is the scenarios. interesting stat from halftime Ethan Davis had 226 of Rhea’s 350 yds of rushing.
  23. Good possibility they were looking ahead. For the first time since 1994 we get one against Bradley
