  1. SC has been to the 4th round in the playoffs and three times to the 3rd round in the last 8 years. You make it sound like they don't know anything about life after round 1. Point noted.
  2. This is the last thing I am going to post on this thread as PC won the game and they deserved to. But, it absolutely has zero to do with the schedule and all you trolls on here like slimshady and friends are doing nothing but trying to draw attention to yourselves. Congratulations, you confirmed my opinion, your an idiot. Smith County is a 3A school with a little over 600 people. Why do they want to schedule inner city Nashville schools? Why would they not want to play the rural schools like themselves like they have always done? Why is the strength of schedule such a hot topic this year? Is it because they went 10-0 this year and haven't done that in over 20 years? If they had lost two games and wasn't ranked number 1 in the state but rather 5-7 like they are about every year, would that make this discussion have a little less juice? Why? Why do they drop Macon County, and schedule Pearl Cohn? I mean did you see their crowd? They had 100 fans if that. The band didn't pay to get in, remember that. Is York down, yes, wasn't it year before last they advanced to 4th round? Did Livingston not win a state championship 5 years ago? Gordonsville has, White House has. Since when is this year all of a sudden the year that all of those teams are bad schedules. I mean really, do they have to play Trousdale County (not gonna happen) or better yet go call these ABC private schools who recruit rather than playing the schools in a 1 hour radius that is going to bring 3 times the crowd. Or do they have to do a home and home with state champion Knox Catholic 2 and half hours away again? Seriously, this is ridiculous. They have traveled to Nashville or further, ask howdoitknow2. This topic of discussion is comical. Slimshady, can't wait to see you again. I got something for you.
  3. I agree oldcat. Good luck to LA next week.
  4. I know and that is why I made sure to say that I'm sure it didn't pertain to the majority of those fans. Good luck next week.
  5. Smith county turned the ball over 4 times and pearl Cohn didn't have one after they just had 7 turnovers (4 fumbles, 3 interceptions) and CPA still had to block a fg and return it 75 yards for win. Pc has a good team and deserve to win as they made the least amount of mistakes. It's not that people are saying sc is overrated but rather the who. I know I'm not referring to the majority of fans but gordonsville fans obviously enjoy the outcome as well as weary and trousdale fans. You would think they would want to see their neighbors to do well against inner city Nashville schools. I even heard that Livingston Academy fans cheered when they announced the Smith County score. Wow.
  6. Depends on how mnay people PC bring? I would expect to the SC side to be full. See ya at the game.
  7. This is going to be a good matchup. I know some people from the Gibbs area in Knoxville. I can't believe he is not on here like he is those softball message boards. I look for the Cats to win a close one. LA - 35 Gibbs - 7
  8. First Round Sullivan North Chuckey Doak Austin East Elizabethton Bledsoe County Alcoa Kingston CAK Smith County Sequatchie County CPA Goodpasture Fairview Lewis County Camden Milan Second Round Sullivan North Austin East Alcoa CAK Smith County CPA Fairview Milan Third Round Austin East Alcoa Smith County Milan Fourth Round Alcoa Smith County Championship Alcoa - 21 Smith County - 7
  9. SC's schedule was not the amongst the strongest in the state, no doubt. Why does that have anything to do with how good they are? They have destroyed the teams they were supposed to for the most part. There is no other #1 seed worrying about a close game just like their is no other #8 seed that is as good as Pearl Cohn in any class in the playoffs. The reason SC fans are calling for a 6-8 point victory is because they don't have blinders on and they realize how good PC is, unlike yourself obviously. In regards to who SC playes out of district, the playoff system taking the best records for the tiebreaker for wildcard teams make scheduling a lot harder for good football programs. Lookinggood, where you from?
  10. Congratulations DenKeeper. You have stated the obvious. Smith County knows the challenge ahead of them this week.
  11. I have witnessed how the Owls have approached games when they were clearly the underdog. They took care of business. I liked the way they approached the toss up games as they played well in them and took care of business. Even though they are the higher seed, a lot of people will favor Pearl Cohn to win this game. Looking forward to seeing what the Owls will do in the underdog role as they haven't been there yet this year. Go SC!
  12. PC is an unfortunate draw to say the least, but like CPA says you have to play the best to win it all anyway. I'm sure there are a lot of people like yourself that picks PC to prevail. We shall soon see.
  13. 2009 SC won 9-0 2010 PC won 40-0 2011 Rubber Match
  14. SC and pearl cohn huh, 3 years in a row...let's do this.
  15. Thought McCoin would play, but thought that LA would be the favorite, but didn't see it being a blowout. That is why they play the game. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.
  16. Give the advantage to whoever you want postman, but coming from an outsider, make no mistake about it, Macon CAN be a power running team. From everyone I talked to they steam-rolled LA in the physical part of the game. Good Luck!
  17. 6 classifications is too many for sure. In fact, I think 5 could be too many. They would never go to only 4 classifications, but I think that could be the best number. Heck, going back to just 3 classifications would be fins with me but do you know how much money would be lost. Will. Never. Happen.
  18. I thought I heard where he was ok. Where did you hear he wasn't scoot?
  19. Yes, I was being sarcastic. But I hope I portrayed how foolish I thought that it sounded that district champions and runner ups not get seeded as a priority. Your real problem is with the zoning of the districts so not sure what that has to do with the champs and runner ups. But speaking on your concern, I'm pretty sure the reason for having a lot in one district and much less in another is due to proximity and keeping rivalries in place.
