...as a player...No ...as a spectator...absolutely I may be wrong, but I do expect the mercy rule to come into play, and yes I realize that this game is different than others and that both teams, more times than not, play each other close.

I'm guessing Gordonsville is expecting a win yet again?

I wanted to see if my boy Josh Shoulders would suit up. I knew the answer to that but still wanted to see it.

And I was actually pretty impressed with how physical it was. I couldn't imagine getting out there and mixing it up like some of those guys did. Wouldn't be able to walk for a month if ever. Both teams were pretty good but SC wore MC down the second half like they were in some kind of football shape or something. Again pretty impressive. There was some real football plays made in the game, several that might possibly be one of their best plays in their career. lol. Collins is a beaststud! lol.

Currently we are looking for a couple of more knowledgeable people in the UC area who knows and cares about UC football, and more importantly would want to help with the show in some capacity without any pay. I think I can answer that quesstion better than you considering that I have played for them both. What's all the fuss about anyway?

Hold the phone! Did are you maynordaise and basil? Because I think you are logged in under the wrong name in your reply. I was talking to Basil, which is why you see his quote above my reply. I'm a Owl fan, so chill out. As for being on the Pemberton bandwagon. I am, and have always been. He is a great coach, just as Smith County's coach is. It's not like I was bashing SC's coach for crying out loud.

It's obvious your still in your rookie season, not even got a football season under your belt while being a member on the T. Honestly, it's best sometimes to feel your way around during this staga and figure out the lay of the land. Otherwise your going to get swallowed up in here with all the crafty veterans start checking in. Just a thought, take it or leave it.

SC lost to a better team tonight. Pearl Cohn is a good team. I was impressed. I don't know if they are 40 points better, but they are a better team. I do think they dug a hole that they couldn't dig out of with 4 first half turnovers, two fumbles when they were putting together drives that really hurt. The two interceptions were not as costly. I don't want to say the Owls quit, but things definitely changed when they dug the whole. SC could have got on the board but chose to not run another play from the 1. Not that it really matters either way. The refs didn't have an impact on the outcome. I rarely ever comment on the refs, but the referee was the worst i have ever seen. He missed an obvious running into the punter call early in the game. The intentional grounding call might be the worst call I have ever seen, and it is definitely youtube material. And then the illegal shift on the 4th and 4 punt. How do you miss those calls in a playoff game? I expect to see Pearl Cohn to face Alcoa in the championship if they continue to play like they did tonight. Once again, enjoyed the band. Congrats to the Owls on a great season. Congrats to you seniors and thanks for an exciting four years of football. Already looking forward to 2012 as roundball is overrated.

Expecting a close game, and hoping the Owls can come away with the win as the winner of this game, if either continues to play well, could meet the monster in the Championship. SC - 14, PC - 13

While I don't necessarily remember the defense that was on the field on Friday night. I do remember that there was 2 minutes to go when Smith County got the ball and they only had 40 yards or so to go to get into field goal range to win the game. So by reading your post, it looks like you are suggesting some kind of prevent defense with soft coverage. I would think that the quick game could take advantage of that and move the ball downfield just as efficiently as throwing the long ball over the top of the defense.
