Cherokees win 12-7!!! Go Tribe McDermott had a 60 td run and 55 yard td reception. The D played awesome again this week. Travis Smith Had two ints including the game sealer with 40 secs to play at the 10 yard Line.

Not to start the 2nd half. They went 80 yds after ables threw the INT for an OWlS TD. Putting the Cherokees back on top 14-6 That says something about a teams Character!!

This is Tevin Mcdermotts SR. year. He is a great athlete and we look for big things from him this year. His older brother Trace will be a Jr. at UT-Martin. They both are big time playmakers and have help the cherokees the past few years. But they do have alot of kin folk still in Athens. So hopefully they will be more to come.............

Stephen Stansell From McMinn county should be kicker of the year hands down. He holds a 42 yard punt average. He is 7 for 8 on Field Goals with a long of 52. He has hit two 49 yarders as well. Almost all kickoffs are touchbacks. Kid has a big leg.

McMinn's Tailback had 117 on the ground, granted about 30 of those came in the 4th quarter but he still went over 100. Delano Ellison was the name

If mullinax does take the WV job he would open up the 2007 season with his former team (McMinn). That would be very interesting

Just wondering who some of the best baseball players were from District 5-AA in the past decade or so Since 1990 til now Walker Valley, Meigs, Central, Sequoyah, Sweetwater, Tellico, and Polk.

Yea it has been really great. Every team here has played a great game every night. Just hope Meigs can play another one tonight.

Meigs vs McMinn Central. I know in the four years that I played at meigs It was some of the best baseball I have ever been apart of. Always a great atmosphere

i dont think they can win. remember they still have to play meigs county too. They cant beat them. so no they wont win the region

Meigs competed with notre dame this year but came up a yard short in double overtime. Meigs had that game won but notre dame made a great comeback converting three 4th downs. One was really long. I think they will be fine with the competition. Coach Martin will have his troops ready next year.

I think this region will be very competitive. Each team has some good athletes that really love to play football. The best thing is that all these teams are fairly close. These teams have played each other before in the regular season, and if not in the regular season they played in spring scrimmages or preseason scrimmages. Also it houses a pretty good rivalary with Meigs vs Central which is always a classic. I think Meigs and Polk will do fine with the move up to class 3A but i believe Tellico will struggle a bit. But you never know unti lyou play the games.

Which teams do you think are the favorites. Will the old teams shine through or will their be a new team take over this region. Also what are your thougts on meigs polk, and tellico moving up. Will they compete or be doormats.

Yes It does sound like excues to me. You lost game over. Plus number 40 ran the ball a whole lot better than Whited did. That was the best thing that happened for you guys in that game was him getting hurt. I thought 40 was way better. Its been three weeks man get over it the tigers were the better team that night.
