  1. Today Louisiana granted displaced athletes immediate eligibility at any LHSAA school they choose to transfer to. Texas and both Mississippi associations are considering doing the same thing. Anyone know what the procedure will be for displaced fall-sport athletes coming to Tennessee?
  2. Oak Ridge has got to be 2nd. They straight up CRUSHED Clinton.
  3. MBA lost a lot more than MUS. Who is MBA brining back besides Howe and Snyder? Byrdsong's gone. Bubis's gone. Hahnfield's gone. Shillinglaw's gone. MUS has Park's little brother at QB and he's been great so far.
  4. Sorry we have 10 guys coming back with starting experience. Injuries last season forced us to rotate TONS of guys through, especially at LB.
  5. What's the QB situation at MBA? Is Howe still starting?
  6. I'll take MUS, 19-10.
  7. Yeah, but think about it. Not only do they have three outstading guys who can make plays at any time, they have three guys who the offense is ALWAYS going to be watching. That gives other guys opportunities to make plays. I mean, BCS got spanked by Melrose but they only gave up 14 points. That's not bad at all.
  8. Brandon Jackson, Greg Hardy, and Chris Moore. Those guys aren't to be overlooked.
  9. I'm not saying that Joel Bradford is a bad player (he's not; he's outstanding) or that he isn't an important factor in McCallie's offense, but the BT's WR corp is very deep this year. Walter Dozier has easily twice the athleticisim of Joel and will pick up the slack as the #1 and Hayden Jahn is a steal as a #2. Bradford is expected back for the 9/9 game vs. Powell.
  10. Jazzy, Ohio definitely has more depth as far as high school talent than Tennessee, for a lot of reason I won't bother listing. But don't think that Riverdale couldn't play with anyone in Ohio or the nation; a quality is a quality team. Also, don't believe that there aren't schools in Tennessee that can play with teams of equal size in Ohio (i.e., Alcoa vs. Ohio small schools). I think most of the good Super "8" teams and good 5A and 4A schools would be very competitive in OH. But don't think I'm trying to trash Ohio. You may or may not give a d***, but someone on another forum once asked how people would rank each state in terms of the quality of high school football there. Based on the number of nationally-recognized programs in each state, I put Ohio in fifth behind only California, Texas, Florida, and Georgia. I understand every bit how y'all do things up there.
  11. Thanks for havin' SERIOUS faith (that's cool coming from an MBA fan), but it will not be that bad of a game. Briarcrest's lack of offense it's going to hurt them (and probably cost them the game like it did against Melrose), but their defense is loaded and will keep this one relatively close.
  12. ^Wow; that may actually be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. ^ Side note: not suprised to hear about Powell's lousy attitude; they scrimmaged us in the preseason and right up until we blistered 'em they were all talk. One of their big lineman (I won't identify him, even though it would probably serve him right) had some particularly colorful remarks for one of our black players. Just thought I'd tell everyone exaclty what kind of stuff I've seen from Powell.
  13. Anyone have any thoughts about BCS @ McCallie this Friday?
  14. I just have to say that I have serious respect for MBA. As a McCallie fan, I was hoping they would lose today and their spirit would be broken and their season over so that our 10/21 game in Nashville would be a little less worrisome. I clearly underestimated the Big Red and for this I apologize. They showed a lot of resilience, something Coach Potter stresses to his players. I hope McCallie is never in the situation that MBA was in this week (dealing with a real heartbreaker of a loss), but if they are I would hope that they would handle it the way MBA did today.
  15. McCallie wins a close game.
  16. So I see that my great secret is out. Well acctually this simulator was neither secret nor great, but I just thought I'd warn everyone out there not to get too pulled into this thing. It's usefulness in projecting an actual score is mostly nonexistant, but it does serve the purpose of distinguishing the level at which various teams (particularly in situations where comparison would be difficult, such as between teams in different states) play. Use it wisely. "With great power, comes great responsibility."
  17. You're thinking of Ayanga. Ifreke (6'2", 265, DL) will be a Sr. next year. He's not quite as quick as Ayanga (he's a little bigger, though) and he's every bit as strong. Duke has already offered him. And, yeah, you're right about the QB. I don't know why he said "new." B.J. will only be a Jr. next year.
  18. AAA 1. McCallie The Blue Tornado returns players with starting experience at everying skill position on offense. The OL is almost all new, but bigger and stronger. On defense the BT again return players with starting experience at every position. 2. MBA They lose one of the best OL I've ever seen up-close, but they're no slouch; they always find a way to be in the mix. 3. Brentwood Academy Mike Berry lessens their losses on the OL. They've still got Tyree Ford at RB. This is a solid team. 4. Baylor Jac and FB Kevin Cooper are great players, but they can't do it alone. 5. Briarcrest Defending II-AA Champs have talent in DE Greg Hardy and LB Brandon Jackson to contend at AAA level. 6. MUS MUS will feel the loses of Park, Lawhorn, and their senior class of '05 7. Christian Brothers LB Chris Mosby and RB Henry Harris are talented players, but this Christian Brothers team is rattled and they've got work to do. 8. Father Ryan Marginally improved last year, Father Ryan extends their last place dominance to the leagues newly-added #8 spot. Congrats, fellas.
  19. Not to be a buzz-kill, but I wholeheartedly disagree.
  20. If you're reffering to Alcoa, I've seen them nationally ranked by various sources.
  21. Anthony Conney, Jr. McCallie 5'8", 195 Fast (runs track) but also one of the strongest players on the team.
