  1. If you want more info you better google it because they don't have a clue what they're talking about. She wasn't busted for an unrelated crime, and she wasn't "on the run" because no one was looking for her--she was the prime suspect but there weren't any outstanding charges (although she did start going by another first name and presumably wanted to keep a low profile). The authorities in FL just never believed they had enough evidence to charge her until recently. They supposedly did some additional DNA testing of some hair or something, but it's unclear exactly what made them decide to charge her after almost 30 years. The trial will be national news if it ever happens.
  2. No idea but I hope they're not from Tri-Cities. Most of the refs from up here hate DB. I doubt this game will be close enough for the refs to make a difference either way though. Hoping the Tribe can play well and make a game of it, at least for a while.
  3. Well DB has visiting broadcast teams in the press box every week with no apparent issues, so my guess is if our team thought you were doing something odd you probably were, regardless of any labels you may have seen. Did you ask anyone where you were supposed to set up?
  4. Yeah all these people saying DB might not see McMinn due to a first round upset were right--but it was McMinn that went down, not DB.
  5. Yeah unfortunately the "your offense can't be one dimensional" rule doesn't always apply. Especially if you keep helping the other team out with stupid penalties.
  6. A ridiculous number of penalties, some key drops, and inconsistency on defense. Add them all up and I'm surprised it was that close. I bet the D had at least 15 TFLs, but then they'd turn around and give up a big play. Don't see them beating Alcoa but they could still make some noise in the playoffs if they play well.
  7. Was at that game and am a bit fuzzy on the details, but I'm certain they ran it at least twice in a row, maybe three times. The penalty for holding must have been accepted the first time or two, but it only moved the ball back a few inches.
  8. ThIs team reminds me of some Maryville teams, in that you don't see any major stars, yet the team just keeps clicking along. It's not about stars, it's about superior execution. Those Maryville teams also rarely made any mistakes though (penalties or turnovers), which this team is still working on.
  9. Holy cow this team has Waco praising not only the coaches but the secondary. I would have thought that was less likely than creating plutonium with the cleaning supplies under your kitchen sink! Seriously, this team has played very, very well, and I have been impressed with the coaching too, especially the play calling. If these Indians can avoid turnovers and penalties they may make some noise in the postseason.
  10. Would not say that as I thought they moved the ball pretty well. The problem was they couldn't hang on to it. Can't say they win without the turnovers, but it would have been a much closer game.
  11. Hard to complain about that result with two of your top three tacklers and three OL starters out or hobbled. Need to get those guys back though.
  12. Actually it should read "gets" (no apostrophe). But enough about that.
  13. 35-0 3rd Q and should be worse. DB outgained HV 292-22 in the first half.
  14. Totally agree on '07. Not necessarily DB's best team, but the way things played out they had a real shot at it. Didn't they lose to Smyrna (the eventual champion) by 7 or something?
  15. Certainly DB's most accomplished player of all time at the college level (he's in the College HOF as a player and coach), but he didn't play in the NFL. The NFL was only a few years old when he left UT and probably wasn't that attractive an option.
  16. Not sure of the total, but there are two current players, Daniel Kilgore and Coty Sensabaugh, and Gerald Sensabaugh retired just a a few years ago. Then there's Mike Fulkerson (later changed his last name to Dulaney), Hal Miller, the Cifers brothers, and seems like another one or two I'm missing. I think one of the Cifers held the NFL record for longest punt for a while.
  17. Anyone who thinks DB has ever gotten its share (much less more than its share) of favorable calls at home knows nothing about DB football. DB is just as likely to get screwed by the refs at home as on the road.
  18. But Farragut has won an impressive 58% of its games all time and is now 5-11 against DB, so . . . Oh he's a troll, sorry.
  19. SH didn't "find" points against EHS, they earned them the old fashioned way, by nearly doubling up EHS in yardage. SH should have won that game easily. I have no idea how DB will look tomorrow night, but SH has to be a solid favorite IMO.
  20. Wait, GS said that he was the reason Crockett won those games the first half of last season, and his suspension was why they then went on a losing streak. Did they hire him back?
  21. I have a lot less trouble believing that Witten said something that ticked off the interviewers than I do believing that one former player would have the ability to effectively tell the administration to hire Christian instead of who they wanted to hire.
  22. North, South, and Central, but those schools aren't closing; they're becoming middle schools. Kingsport is buying North and making it a City middle school, and the other two will be county middle schools.
